Good Morning: I just started TF Monday, June 11th, 2012. And yes I am 48..just turned last month..lol.. I was surprised to find out how out of shape I really was but most of all when the pics were taken I was shocked to see another person..it was me..never had i let myself get so out of control... all i could do was laugh at myself and then i literally had a melt down last Friday before I started when my husband asked me to wear something nice for our date night...he was already at the restaurant waiting for me after work but i needed to come home and get out of the clothes that was irritating me..namely my bra!!! I needed to get comfortable quickly and i had on nice jogging like pants and a tee shirt. Somehow he knew that and texted me and asked if i had on sweats...and it went from there...next thing i knew i was balling by myself...that's when i really realized that i have no clothes that fit to wear other than what i have for work...well the hubby that i have didnt finish his margarita and came home because he sensed that i was in trouble, and crying in our room is where he found me...he comforted me and said "Ok what do we need to do to get you started on the Turbofire that you just got!" I told him nothing just waiting for our daughter to come home and take the "before" pics!!! She came home on Saturday and the pics were taken and here i am!!! It was so exciting to finally start TF..this is Day 5...yep it has kicked my butt but i will not quit with you all helping me!!! I will come back from time to time today to really get myself set up again on WOWY!!! Yes I did Turbo Jam years ago and loved it!!!

Oh yeah!!! I do have a few small challenges!!! I live on the second floor of an apartment building built probably in the 60's so you know the floors are creaky every time you walk..just imagine how it sounds with me doing TF!! I try to be quite at times but then you get so excited and forget or don't care..LOL (Trust me when I tell you it's pay back for blasting their surround sound like they're at the movies) Sometimes I take it out in the parking lot of the small complex and go for it in the fresh air. The second challenge is my left knee. I must admit after almost 2 weeks it's so much better. So if I can so it in an apartment and with a bummy knee so can you!!!

I would love to join you! I saw that you posted you are 48 and I was thrilled to see someone around my age to relate to. I'm 44 and would love to be in the best shape of my life for my 45th birthday. That would be the best present ever!

Meltdowns...we've all been there sister! What a great hubby to come home and support you!

I completed 60 days of P90X 2 years ago. I only saw gains on the scale so I stopped. This time around I want to finish the program. I read on the boards to, "trust the process" and that's my goal. Focusing on how I feel and my measurements, plus celebrating small accomplishments.

I started turbofire June 18, so I'm one week behind you. Hope that's ok. I completed all the workouts, although many times I was flopping around the room. Even made myself laugh a few times. Feeling soreness in my upper back & shins but my spirits are high. Core 20 + Stretch 40 tomorrow!!

Here's hoping more gals join this thread to helps us all be successful!!emoticon

I'd love to join with you guys! I started TF on the 14th (I ordered it the 11th! ). I also am doing Chalean Xtreme as well, as I need the muscle to help with my medical problems. I enjoy them both together.

Would love to have us all together even if we didn't start the same day. We all need encouragement! I was just trying to find some "buddies" on here and it's hard! It's all mixed up, with inactive users, people who have completed years ago, etc. I want people doing it now, as I really find the encouragement and accountability help. It's nice to know you're not in it alone!

Look forward to seeing results together!

I accepted your buddy request. I agree completely with your comment that we all need encouragement. I just joined the beachbody boards and am attempting to figure things out. Haven't finished my profile or loaded any pics yet but will get that stuff set up in the next few weeks. Managed to upload my program so I can mark off the workouts as I complete them. I read your profile and you have several issues challenging you. I am impressed with your attitude and willingness to change. Hopefully, you'll get the encouragement and support you need here!! Have an awesome workout tomorrow!

I would LOVE to join too! I am 48 years old too/49 in October. I want to be in the best shape I can by my 50th!! AND I am going to be a grandma for the first time in about 3 weeks...so excited emoticon I am in week 5 of a TurboFire/ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid. I have started P90X twice now and never got through the whole thing. I LOVE Chalene Johnson's training style and positive motivation. I have fought weight issues my whole life. Gamingmom, I know what you mean about knees. For me, it's my right knee. I have to modify a lot of the moves. We all need support on this journey to great health!

Today, the workout on schedule for me is Push Circuit 3 + 10 min. stretch. Have a great day!!

Good Evening Ladies: I'm here..It's great to see you all on the boards....thank you for replying....now for the hard part....keeping each other motivated through the programs. I have lost inches and weight but still will not know how much until day 30...which is July 11th. I read that some of you have not completed previous programs and neither have I. I did complete Turbo Jam and was looking great until the divorce...now it's on to bigger and better things. Had a few medical and dental problems that i had to correct before starting this program so that people knew that i'm serious about the transformation....lol...i had 3 wisdom teeth pulled in one month...is that serious enough?...i didn't want anything getting in the way for me to make excuses not to do this before I ordered it...I literally started this 2 weeks after the last one was pulled. We all are going to need the motivation as we progress because everyone is different in how they approach the program. Heck, I even slack off a little but then the next day i'm on it. Yesterday (6/26) I was not feeling well and took the day off. Today is rest day but i'm going to do the class from yesterday..Low Hit 25 and stretch. So I want to say thank you all for joining me and please add me to your buddy list...as a matter of fact how about a group thing? Well, I'll check in after my workout. Feel free to ask questions, give opinions on the particular class that you did that day..
This can be another way to be accountable for the workouts...just log in here and let me/us know what you did and how you feel after the workout...How 'bout that?

Ok now that i'm cooled down enough from THAT workout..that one was hard and interesting at the same time...First of all there is no LOW HIIT 25...unless I missed it...so I did HIIT 25 oh my goodness!!!!! Crazy!!!

I do have a question for anyone though....do you count the rest day as one of your days or do you say...Week 3 (for Wednesday) Day 3 or is it Day 2? That's where I am now so I'm just asking!!

Kathy - Congrats on becoming a grandma soon and on being in week 5 of your hybrid program. I accepted your buddy request and anytime you want to talk, don't hesitate!

Gamingmom - I go ahead and count the rest day (for me yesterday was week 2, day 3) - and can I just say, I absolutely loved my rest day yesterday!! LOL Good job on tackling the HIIT workout. I think its fabulous that you are in Transformation Mode - Good for you. I think every woman should take the chance to reinvent herself as needed. It's hard work but you can do it!

Ladies, let's post our accountability daily and help each other through this! It's a gift we give ourselves and I think we are each worth the effort and time. My body is adjusting to the workouts so I'm much more sore this week than last. My shins are taking the brunt of it, I've had to ice them after the workouts. I think they are shocked by what I'm asking them to do LOL. I'm going to bring it down to low impact the rest of the week and let them get up to speed.

I'll post my workout later, just wanted to say Hi and let you guys know you are not alone!!

Hi everyone! I'd love to join this thread as well. I turn 44 next month and I started Turbo Fire just yesterday! My plan is do to the entire 20-week TF workout schedule, so I'll be here for a while. emoticon I'm also training for a half marathon for later this year, and I walk/jog in the evenings.

Here's my accountability for today:

Turbo Fire Day 2 - HIIT 15 & Stretch 10 DONE! 182 cals burned

HI!

Gamingmom, Awesome doing the HIIT! Those are my least favorite, but I'm getting there emoticon I count the rest day. They are just as important as the workout days in my opinion.

Aiminhigh, thanks for accepting my request. I'm here to talk anytime too. I think you're really smart to take it low impact for the rest of the week. You can still get a great workout, just exaggerate (sp?) the upper body moves and 'get down into your legs' (as Chalene says).

Welcome Monie! I'm glad you'll be here awhile because I plan to be too. I have found my 'soulmate workout' and love what TF is doing for my abs. Getting stronger with CLX too. Love it emoticon What a goal to do that 1/2 marathon! I'm cheering you on for sure emoticon

I agree, let's post in here to keep ourselves accountable. We can SO DO THIS emoticon My workout for today is Fire 45 EZ.

Accountability: week 2 day 4 - HIIT 15 + Sculpt 30 - yes, ma'am!! The rest day did wonders for my body. I was ready to go this morning and did well through the HIIT class (kept half low impact). I didn't sweat as much as when I do most of the jumping but Sculpt 30 took care of that for me emoticon " My workouts are Non-negotiable" - yes, yes, yes!!

Welcome Mogetfit and congrats on the half marathon...we will definitely keep you motivated!!!! Heck I may tackle one myself at age 50...singing (Go Me Go Me)...lol. Well ladies today is not a good day for me...i'm feverish and have been for about 3 days but fighting it off. Today i spent the day in my sweater at work (it was 93 outside and 76 inside)...was having chills from on again off again fever. I didn't sleep last night because my sinus' and throat were acting up..I'm a mess today..i'm sitting in here with my Dallas Cowboy Snuggie as we speak. Don't let me stop you all, you are doing great.I will catch up hopefully tomorrow.
Aim: My body is also much more sore than usual in the 3rd week. I guess i'm doing more now. I feel it more at the top of my knees, but guess what??? I actually went up the stairs at work and didn't feel winded at all....I had to laugh cuz I shocked myself getting up there so easy..
So for the evening, I'm going to say goodnight and I'm proud of everyone on here now and the ones who are comingemoticon

Turbo Fire Day 3 - REST DAY!!! I got this one in the bag. emoticon

No TF on the schedule today, but I still have to train tonight, so I'll be getting my walking/jogging in tonight. I didn't run yesterday cuz I was out on a date! emoticon So I have to make-up for it tonight. But with the temps in Atlanta reaching 101 degrees today, not sure about running in that heat. emoticon We shall see.

Mo - Hot-lanta :-) We've got similar temps where I live...don't know how you run in that heat, you are truly committed! Hope the date was fun!

Accountability: Fire 55 EZ this a.m. WOW, what a difference a week can make. I worked hard and when I wanted to stop, I went low impact instead.

Hi Gang I'm back!!! Boy those two days were not so good.. feeling no pain today...but i got back on track today. Before I forget....Go Ahead Monie for your date and the training. Thanks to everyone for your prayers. AIM and KF I accepted your invitation.

I actually took it outside in the parking lot a little after 9 this morning: I try to take advantage of doing the workouts outside and no, I don't care who's looking...lol. I look a whole lot better in Wk 3 than i did on day 1...(Go Me Go Me)..lol. Oh by the way, the neighbors that I posted about downstairs, HAVE MOVED!!! YESSS!!! So that means for now I'm going to take advantage of a training a little harder!!

HIIT 15 and Tone 30....that was the first time i did Tone and it tore me up. I'm starting to like the HIIT workouts. I know the temp here in Savannah was probably 90 or more when i was out there...i actually got a tan from working out in the shade on the asphalt...like i needed one..lol.

Oh my hubby and I are going to join the Y today, for me mainly for the pool..i love water aerobics on my own and just relaxing/floating afterwards. My hubby is a heavy man (365lbs) and at dinner last night he actually told me that I'm inspiring him because I keep pushing play with results. Love That Man!!!

Later today will be Fire 45 EZ (my least favorite)and Stretch 10!!!

Everyone find some water this weekend!! Monie watch the heat!!!

Hey all, I've been on a weekend camping trip with my family in northern Michigan. It's even hot up here! Not complaining, though, as the weather is great. I haven't done my scheduled workouts, but I HAVE been kayaking, pedal boating and bike riding so I'm getting the fitness in. Packed healthy food so I'm doing pretty well on that issue too. Gamingmom, so glad you're feeling better! Aiminhigh, I have yet to get to that point of not hating Stretch 40. It's something I really have to work on because I don't stretch enough and at 48, I can definitely tell. I need to make that a priority as well as the intense exercising. Monie, hope your date was fun!

What are you all doing for nutrition? Are you following the TF plan in the guidebook? I finished the Ultimate Reset a month ago and lost 10 pounds. I am SO AFRAID of gaining it back so I wonder if I'm eating enough for these workouts. What do you use to calculate calories?
