RE: Body Beast: Custom DVD Cases
Body Beast Custom DVD Cases
8/25/12 11:33 AM
*** Update ***

Well, Body Beast is a new program and if it's like the other Beach Body programs it comes with a cardboard case for your DVDs. I created custom covers that fit in Blu-ray boxes for your DVDs so they won't scratch in the delivered cases. If the cases for Body Beast are ok, then I guess this post is pretty much pointless.

Regardless, if you want to create these cases you can. I finished P90X2 and someday may get this routine as well. As I don't have it, the case covers are based on what is on the website. I re-arranged the discs in the cases so that I could fit all the information on the covers. They are grouped by Build/Beast and Bulk routines. If you have some input, let me know.

How to make your Body Beast cases
I bought Blu-ray cases instead of DVD cases as they are more compact. The attached inserts are for the specified Blu-ray cases below.

You can buy the cases here:
Five Disc Vortex™ Blu-ray DVD Cases

You will need two cases as these covers were made for the entire set + extra workouts. Each case holds 5 DVDs. Body Beast has potentially 8 DVDs + the instruction DVD so that should cover what is needed.

Note: You don't have to buy from the above link, this is just one site that sells these cases. If you are looking for better deals, you will need a blu-ray case that has a 22mm spine, can hold six discs, and allows for a cover insert.

For this thread, the Body Beast covers are in the following attachment: BodyBeast-Cases.zip.

Save the attachment and unzip the images. You can print these off on 8.5x11 paper, but you will need to make sure that the image uses the entire piece of paper. Otherwise, I recommend using 8.5x14 sized paper if you have trouble printing on the other size.

Because I'm sure the images I used off the Beachbody site are copyrighted, I'm not in the business of making money off these. It's just something I like to do so I though I would share it with folks that want to have custom cases for their Body Beast discs.

Small images are attached to show what the covers look like.

Additional Custom Cases Links
For those of you wanting to make custom cases for other workouts, you can find those here:
P90X (P90X+) Custom DVD Cases
P90X2 Custom DVD Cases
Insanity Custom DVD Cases

If you like or end up using making these cases, let me know with either a post give it a +1 on the vote to the post. That way I know if anyone is benefiting from making their own cases.

Enjoy!

mdbakker:
For all of you out there that would like to have custom cases for your Body Beast DVDs let me know. I've posted covers for P90X2, P90X, Insanity and Turbo Fire on each of there respective threads.

I wanted to post some here, but I can't seem to be able to attach files on this thread. Does this thread allow attachments? If not, is there someone who can open this up for attachments?

Let me know. If the DVD cases for Body Beast aren't the cardboard ones, let me know that as well as it may be a mute point to post these alternate covers.

Michael

From what I understand attachments for the forum are not working at the moment. I have your P90X<2 cases and I love them. Would Love Body Beast ones as I hate sliding them in and out of the cardboard ones.
You can put the covers on the P90X or Your main covers post and just put the link here until the get it fixed. Thanks for all you do.

I have updated the post with what is needed to get the Body Beast custom covers. I will post the covers to this thread once it allows for it. I didn't know the runtime for the bonus discs or the intro dvd as those were not on the site. I can update those on the covers if someone wants to tell me those runtimes.

If there is anything else that looks amiss, please let me know.

Michael

I bought one of the binder style cases that hold all my P90X, P90X+, P90X2 and now Body Beast. I was so frustrated when my brand new, never used P90X back and biceps disc only played half way through due to a big scratch from the cardboard case. Anyone know why Beachbody ships the discs this way? I would rather pay an extra buck for a proper case that doesn't scratch.

Good question. I would have no idea why they wouldn't ship the DVDs in something a little more user and disc friendly. My guess is cost. Probably cheaper to put all the discs in something with a small footprint that weighs very little. Doing economies of scale, if they save $2-$3 per order doing it this way and you have 100k orders, that's a lot of money saved.

I'm with you though, I'd rather pay the extra $3 to have better cases. Even purchasing the boxes and putting in the inserts that I posted costs under $10 with shipping from the vendor. Not including shipping, it's $3-$4 for just the cases. Seems like something that they would do to make customers happier. However, there really is no competition to their programs in my opinion, so they know you'll buy the product anyway.

Maybe someone else has better insight, but that's my thought.
