Ready to Burn - SI6 Motivation

Hi!

I've done P90X, Chalean Extreme, and TurboFire, but I always end up coming back to Debbie's workouts. They seem to be the most effective for me in reducing inches and toning muscles. I used SI6 followed by Slim Series to kick start a 25 pound weight loss a year and a half ago. Now I'm ready to burn off the last pounds (plus the few that creeped back on in the past few months).

The one thing I need is constant motivation to make it through the 21 days to get the workout habit going again. Seems like I keep "starting" over and over and over. Three days of Start It Up this week and then I miss a workout. So I'll be getting back up on that horse tomorrow.

So who else could use a few workout buddies for motivation, friendly "chat", and trading healthy lifestyle tips?

Come on and join in!
Laurie B.

Day 1 starts today with Start It Up. This is a do-over from last week's start and the beginning of another six week journey.

Hi Laurie! I too have done the x, Insanity, P90, TJ..but like you, always come back to Debbie. I am currently in the middle of a slim series/SI6 rotation and I'll take you up on your offer!

So changed it up a little this am. Missed Burn it up yesterday...only had time for half of it. Yoga was supposed to be this morning, but I decided to do Shape It Up...with ankle weights!!! Oh, I will be feeling that in the next couple of days!

So yoga later this evening.

Off to Fresh Market for some good food...kale, carrots, all the really good for you stuff. I have yet to add meat back to my diet...very little dairy, just mostly a bit of cheese here and there so am going to pick up some nutritional yeast. I can use it in place of cheese. I have been craving a veggie fajita. Peppers, onions, tomatoes, hot peppers...a sprinkle of nutritional yeast will replace the shredded cheese. YUM

I'll add you as a buddy. I usually do my workouts in the morning ( EST) but am willing to pick up a stretch or yoga session in the evenings if I am home..I cater so am usually working in the evenings.

Hi Judy!

That veggie fajita sounds delicious. I kicked off SI6 with Start It Up yesterday. It fit in perfect because I had to meet my son at the baseball field with his pick-up truck and baseball gear right after work. Managed to get the workout done before my husband got home.

I work six hour days, so I schedule my workouts for 4pm each afternoon. It's been hard getting back into the swing of things.

Just wanted to send a quick note. My son just called and he is waiting for me to take him to the doctor.

I'll keep that time in mind on my days off, maybe we can meet up in wowy. Tomorrow I have off, but this girl is going to the local waterpark for a day of fun...and it is usually a good workout as well. All that walking, climbing stairs with those tubes, screaming..lol.

Hello laurie and Judy,

I know what you mean too. It happens to alot of us. The hard thing is to get started. You have that down pat, now let's keep it going. You can hybrid a couple of programs so that you don't stop and start again. Mix the programs up for variety. I know you can do it and know you are serious.

In Shaun T's voice, come on you can freakin do it. I know you can guys. Tell yourself there is no other option. It is for your health right?

love to see you work it.

Hey Pkay! They always say the last 10 pounds are the hardest and now I know why. The motivation was high when I lost the first 25 a couple of years ago but it has been hard to get that commitment back. Thanks for the encouragement.

Judy - Have a great day at the waterpark. I was never much for the slides but really enjoyed watching people having fun. We were in Turkey last month and my son was bummed that we did an excursion to Ephesus instead of going to one of the top waterparks in the world. A couple at our dinner table went and had a fantastic time. If you like waterparks, you may want to check that one out as part of a vacation. By the way, I've never really caught up with someone in the WOWY gym. How does it work? I've gone there to indicate that I'm starting my workout but then getting on the computer is one of my "traps" that I try to avoid because I end up delaying (or not doing) the workout.

I got in Ramp It Up today with a lot of energy. I had no problem getting through the workout, but then that is how I usually start out. It is usually day 3 where the energy drop-off starts so the next few days will be crucial. Once I get in the automatic mindset, it will be easier. In the past, I would come home from work, automatically change into my workout clothes, and head down to the basement to turn on the video before I even realized what I was doing.

Lol Laurie...you do get caught up on the computer. I go in, log on and leave the room! When you log in, I can see you. And you can also leave messages to your buddies as well..just type in your message in the box that says current message and hit update

I am on my last 5 pounds of my original goal weight ( but have added on 20 more) I started out at BB weighing 225 pounds, with a waist of over 44 inches! I am now at 150 and 31.5. Would like to get to about 125 and a waisty of 28. Lol..don't think I will see the 20 inch waist of my younger years!!!

Make sure you are eating well and staying hydrated to keep those energy levels up!

Thanks, Judy! You are really an inspiration. I started at 185 and dropped to 155. But it has inched back to 160 (especially after my cruise last month). My new goal is to get down to 150 and then set a new goal after that. I want something that is achievable and healthy. With my son leaving for college and my husband also trying to lose weight, we should be able to get the junk food completely out of the house soon. Plus, our crazy schedules should become more routine to allow meal planning. My son plays baseball and we have spent many evenings (and dinners) at the baseball field. Not really a healthy food selection and too much temptation.

I did stick to my sack lunch today instead of putting it in the fridge and heading out with friends. I can't take too much credit for that since it was mostly because my conference call ran through my lunchtime. I'm pretty good about drinking water. They keep a fridge of bottled water at work and I usually go through 2 16 oz. bottles during the work day plus another 16 oz. bottle after my workout. Add the glass I have in the morning and one before bed gets me over 64 oz. per day.

Okay, I better get back to work. You're right about me and computers. Can you tell that I work in Information Technology? You would think that the last thing I would want to see when I get home is another computer!

Hi all!

Can I join in? I am GREAT at motivating others....just harder to motivate myself!

Actually in truth I am completely motivated...I'm just lazy... emoticon

I finally pushed play last night.....yea! Day one done.

When I did this program before I got up early in the am and did it and it was done for the day. Now I can't seem to do that....i wait until I get home...that's harder.

I used to push play and then get bored and turn it off...can you imagine? And that was AFTER I had great results from doing it consistenly. We are our own worst enemies....

Hang in there....let's keep each other going!

Thanks for letting me in....

Welcome to the group, Jill! Congratulations on completing Day 1. I know that feeling about getting bored after pushing play. And I know that it will be horrible getting through four straight weeks of Burn It Up. The last time I got through SI6, I was counting the number of days left until I would not have to do Burn It Up again for a very long time.

I exercise in the afternoon after work, but I only work six hour days. I have my workout time scheduled for 4pm and am treating that as a firm appointment (okay, I may be a bit late at times, but I am making it). Chalene Johnson has some really good tips on her workouts. First is to schedule your workout time and second is to give her 15 minutes to get you pumped up. So, just commit to getting those first 15 minutes going and before you know it, you'll be into your workout and done.

I just finished Day 3. Another day of Ramp It Up and my energy is still high. I know that the first week is usually my hardest, so I'll be checking in again tomorrow.

Okay, so my one peeve about SI6 is that Debbie seems to be rhythmically challenged. I know I'm doing those leg lifts faster than her because I'm following the beat. Hopefully, that just means I'm burning more calories.emoticon

See y'all tomorrow.

Thanks for the invite Laurie!

Hi Everyone. My name is Leneisha and I will be starting Slim in 6 on Monday (my birthday emoticon) This will be my second round of SI6. I did it in 2010 and lost 17 lbs. Hoping for the same results or better this time. I hurt my back several times with Insanity and TurboFire so it is time to keep it low impact but intense. Looking forward to being on this journey with you all!

Laurie, lol. Not just rhythmically challenged, but musically. I leave the music off and turn on the ipod.

Len! Girl, I remember you from another thread. Good to see you. I have some elbow issues that insanity didn't help with so have came back to debbie's workouts. I have gotten good results on those without too much damage!

Jill, I definately do my workouts in the mornings. That way, I know they are done. My problem is my schedule, I cater, and there are times that I don't get home til midnight. NO way I'm doing my workouts then, lol.

On the way to wowy now for a little Tone it Up....with ankle weights. Owww.

Len - Glad that you could join us. Hope your back is feeling a lot better and you are ready for your six week journey with Debbie (and us).

Judy - I remember Tone It Up. I'm planning on doing a round of Slim Training after I finish SI6. It is such a great workout for getting leaner!

I finished Day 4 with Ramp It Up. I still have a lot of energy but maybe that is the prednisone that the doctor has me on for an allergic reaction to something. My entire face and neck broke out plus I had some nice looking swollen eyes. Definitely tried to keep to myself and stay in my office for the first part of this week. Lucky that most of my meetings were conference calls with people in Paris. No video conferences!

We'll see how well my energy level stays up after I finish the round of medicine next week. I'm hoping that since I will only be on it for a little over a week that I will not experience an energy crash but I can honestly say that it certainly has given me a little boost.emoticon

Unsuccessful lunch today. I did bring a sack lunch but my lunch partner was having a bad week so we ended up at our usual Mexican restaurant. At least I went for the little bit healthier half lunch chicken fajita (no beans, no tortillas) but the chips are still my downfall. I just need to find something else to do with my hands. Maybe I should try grabbing my water glass until my meal comes next time. Thing is, I had even packed a lunch for today. It is now in the fridge at work for tomorrow. Dinner was better with pork loin chops on the grill and summer squash.

At least the workouts are on track.

Hope everyone has an awesome Friday and keep on pushing play.

Laurie, we'll have to do that Slim Series rotation together!

At least the prednisone has an extra benefit. Sorry about the allergic reaction...do you know what set it off?

Oh girl..mexican is my downfall as well. I love, and I do mean LOVE queso dip.

Is it friday?? lol. I cater so my " weekend" is usually mon/tues. Friday is my monday :-)

Off to wowy. BIU on for today, but twisted my knee the other day and it is still bothering me. I may have to sub in something else. Mabye a core synergistics from the X.

Quick check-in with Day 5 - Ramp It Up. Finished and energy is still high. I also signed up for a 100 Mile Challenge at work. It is to walk 100 miles by October 1st. I got my lunch buddy to also sign up so I have someone to do it with. I may also get my husband involved since we work at the same company.

Okay, I'm really starting to see why people get hooked on steroids. Quite the energy boost! Fortunately, the weaning off period has started. Down to two pills for three days and then one pill for three or four days.

Olympics Opening Ceremony starts on TV here in a little less than one hour. My sister-in-law is there with her side of the family (no ticket for my brother). Don't think I'll be able to spot her in the crowd. But from what I've seen on-line, the ceremony looks awesome.

Have a great night!

Laurie, I like that 100 mile challenge! And way to go on the day 5 of Ramp it Up!

Just a quick hello. Got a busy week catering. Just finished up in wowy. Another round of Tone it Up. This time with 5lb weights thru out. Lol...5 pounds doesn't sound like much does it? But an hour of it and I was sweating and burning. My booty is hurting. I'd like to up the weights, or get back into the X, or the the LMP...but I gotta wait out this tennis elbow thing.

I could go in for a cortisone shot, but I'd prefer time and acupuncture for the healing. Cortison is so bad. It is better, but I have to be patient and not go too heavy too fast.

Hope your weekend is a good one. I am working of course, but I can't complain, I love my job. Lol...last night I did a family reunion ( they were mostly from Alabama) outside...sweated my butt off, but they actually had a dance floor set up under a tent so the staff and I did a few dance moves...a new one for me was the "wobble". Usually I don't allow staff to interact like that, but this group was alot of fun and they kept on about us getting up there. They liked us well enough to request the same crew come back tonight, but that won't happen, I am scheduled somewhere else tonight.

Workout in for the day so now it is on to a day of clean eats!

Hey Judy! That us the same reason I am back too...kept getting injured with the other workouts. Excited for some results too! How is your knee today?

Thanks Laurie! I should get the slim series too so I can do it you guys next! 100 miles is cool. I am planning to walk 4 miles a day. It has been great so far!!

Have a great Saturday!

Glad that everyone is still moving. Hope the aches and pains go away soon.

Well, the weekend is my toughest time to work out. Not because of lack of time but because it is not a "routine". I've spent most of the day going through my cruise pictures and touching them up. I'm only up to Day 4 which is when we actually got on the ship!

It is now 3:30 which is close enough to my regular workout time during the week, so I'm going to head downstairs for Day 6.

Have a great weekend.
