Are you starting TurboFire for the first time?

Have you tried in the past and failed to finish?

Do you need someone that will be responsive and push you to a new level?

My name is Kim and I just finished TF for the first time! I DID it and now its your turn! Lets do this together

I joined the message boards and found the support and accountability I needed to stick with the program and a coach that has been active and responsive. Now I want to workout with you to reach our goals.

To help you get started, we know that the most successful athletes need fitness, nutrition, and support.

FITNESS:
TF has great music and dance moves, something to get excited about. Start with the "new to class" option until you get the hang of the routines. It adds minutes to the workout so just take that into account the first few weeks...Fire 30 will take about 45 minutes for example. Don't worry about your current ability to finish the workouts either. The key is that you are going to enjoy it and it will get you to the next level of fitness no matter where you are starting.

Start by setting goals-short term and long term. Is your goal to finish the program? Lose weight? Build muscle? Write it down and use it to motivate you.

NUTRITION:
I am a huge believer in the power of food. The fuel you provide your body will be the key to your success. Develop a balanced meal plan by utilizing the tools of teambeachbody club, the nutrition guide that came with your program, or an outside resource.

I have been a user of Shakeology and it has helped my cravings and provided the necessary energy throughout my day to support my fitness routine. It also helped me lose the final pounds I wanted to shed. You may choose to have the recovery drink after your workouts as part of your program as well.

Start by planning your meals week-to-week and write down everything you eat. “If you bite it, write it”

SUPPORT:

By committing to this message board, you become part of a team. The members of the team will support you in reaching your goals. Your commitment to us is that you will post daily so that we can all keep track of each other. Those that commit to being part of the team are much more likely to complete the full program than those that do not commit.

So are you ready to join the team and do this together?

If so, introduce yourself, tell us your goals, and add me as a buddy. I’ll send you some more information. I look forward to working out with youemoticon

Hey Coach Kim, thanks for starting another thread! It's great to see you out here motivating and keeping track of us all! To all the new Turbofire addicts, join us on our journey and we will build a team as we go. Kim is great at motivating and responding to questions and she is beyond athletic!!

@sarrylove - WAY TO GO!! 20 pounds since starting TF - AMAZING! Stick with it and keep pushing toward your goal. What an accomplishment.

I haven't lost any weight doing TF, but my diet is always something I struggle with, so I can say I am not surprised. However, my cardio, tone and energy level is so much better than when I began. I took my puppy out yesterday and this morning for a walk/jog. Then this afternoon I did my Low HIIT and scult 30 as per my schedule. Then I added some extra abs and a quick 5 min. on the elliptical with and incline of 20. I went and bought some compression shorts this weekend. Not something I would wear in public, but that's the great part of working out at home - WHO CARES HOW I LOOK WHEN I AM IN MY SWEAT SESSION emoticon. They are great for the TF workouts and I also compare myself to the TF class which is motivation to push harder. Keep up the great work!

I ended up bailing on TF during my first round on doc orders. I was on meds for about a month that came with a strict no exercise warning, and then I had a couple weeks after that of nothing except walking still.

Now I am starting my 2nd full week of P90x. For the first couple of weeks I did a mix of power 90, P90X, and TF routines fairly randomly just to get my body moving again/build up some strength. I'm doing P90x because I have lost a lot of my physical strength in the last few months. I'm hoping to do this, then do a P90x/TF hybrid.

I had an awful sinus infection that was causing migraines. I was on and off meds even before starting TF the first time, and finally just got cleared to go back full force recently. Evidently if it gets to the sinus cavities behind the eyes its really hard to get rid of. I learned my lesson the hard way.

My nutrition has been spot on enough that even though there were changes I didn't gain weight while not exercising. Now that I'm working out again I am having a hard time getting in enough calories to keep me going for the workouts. Anyone else struggle with this?

Thanks for checking up on me Coach, awesome on almost completing insanity!

@sarrylove ~ Awesome job with the weightloss!! emoticon

Finished up week 7 of the prep schedule today and looking forward to it being done and getting to the real stuff. I'm only weighing myself once a month because I was a chronic weigher multiple times a day and it was driving me nuts, so July 31st should be interesting. I don't think I have lost weight doing the prep schedule, but I know I lost inches. Eating and staying with a plan ( I keep waivering between doing Weight Watchers, which I've been doing and counting calories, which I tried this past week) have been a constant challenge for me and something I need to work on. When prep schedule is done, going to give the inferno plan a shot and see what happens.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hello Kim,

Reporting for duty!

Glad to be here on this thread. Had a three day setback (sickness), but I will not let that discourage me. Started back on track and looking forward to the finish line. Still not at 100%, but working at the modified level did the job and I am glad to be back.

I saw on YouTube Brett Johnson's recipe for Turkey Veggie Protein Patties and got excited. I love ground turkey and look for any recipes that use it. The only substitution is I will use diced Jalepenos, instead of the green chiles. I will let you know how they turn out.

Talk to you all soon,
Sherra

OK - I DID IT! My Insanity is going to be here next week! Sooo nervous, yet excited. Really hoping to get myself in the best shape of my life. Not sure if I am going to do a hybrid or just give it my all for 60 days and then move into a hybrid with Turbofire. Any suggestions?

Hi Kim-- I posted a little on your previous thread and am glad you started this one. I have started my 3rd week this morning of TF. I am loving it. this morning I really was not wanting to get out of bed, but I did and once I started fire 45 I quickly was glad I got moving. Love feeling so good about myself after a workout. Anyway I am needing a interactive coach and would love to join your team. If you can or will take me on I am not sure how to change coaches. Thanks--Kamra

I love the fact that so many people are joining here! This is awesome.

Kamra: details sent about switching teams.

Jami: I did the full Insanity and really missed the music and variety of TF after about 3 weeks. I'm glad I pushed through the whole thing though. I like your idea of doing all of Insanity and then a hybrid. Not sure that is advice but oh well;)

Sherra: looking forward to hearing how that recipe turns out!

Sara429: Great to see you here! do you like WW or counting calories better? have you tried the nutrition guide?

Amber: It sounds like you have had it tough! Glad you are back at it and we all want to hear how you are making progress. I had trouble eating enough when I started the second phase of Insanity and had to increase my snacking on higher calorie things like almonds...a handful is 150 calories so that was quick. I also added the results and recovery formula which is 200 calories per serving.

Sara: Way to go!! woohoo!

Now for my report: I finished Insanity this morning and was spot on with my diet. I started a Challenge group today for 90 days and the diet is going to be my main focus. I give you all permission to yell at me if I report any cheatingemoticon Hold me accountable! No excuses!

Kim

I'm still hanging in! It has been crazy with travel and tough with both kiddos sleep being off, but I'm only one day behind. I had some issues with my Core 20 DVD and repeated week 5 of the prep while I waited for the replacement. Then I missed my workout this past Saturday, hence the day behind. I've reworked the week for myself and doubled up two of the shorter workouts this coming Saturday so I should be back on schedule come Sunday. It's frustrating being so tired and not seeing a ton of results for the effort, but I have to eat a good amount to be able to nurse my son, so I need to come to terms with that for the next year or so. On the plus side I FEEL stronger and I know I'm building muscle and endurance so I try to focus on that.

Last night was my Fire 30 night so I tried the bonus Burn Circuit included on the Tone/Sculpt DVD with my extra time. I wasn't sure what it was, but was delighted that it was a Chalean Extreme workout. It was a 30 minute weight segment for those of you haven't checked it out yet. I liked it! I would definitely need heavier weights if I was doing Chalean Extreme, but it was a nice change and maybe another option to tone/sculpt.

Kim, That's great that you are starting a challenge group foused on diet. Are you sticking to a specific plan, or do you just have to stay within your calorie allowance?

Wildcatmom82 - It's great that you are sticking with your plan. I am sure you have days that you are dragging!. I remember those days. My advice to all new moms was always - nap when the baby does, that may be the only sleep you get! I remember feeling like I had to do everything and you get so focused on everyone else you forget about taking care of you. You will see results and nursing will help your body return to "normal" so much faster. You are doing a great job, and don't get frustrated if you miss a workout because of life. You have alot on your plate and baby's don't care what your schedule is, they have their own. Keep pushing play and you will feel results even if you don't see them immediately.

I did my insanity workout this morning and did the core part before the cardio part...this helped me get a much better core workout than usual. I liked the variety.

Wildcatmom: With all that you are balancing, way to stay on track with your workouts. Jami gave good advice...be sure to take care of you! I'm sure other moms on this thread can continue giving advice as well.

Jami: I don't have those dvd's because I got the classic version of TF but they sound awesome. Thanks for letting all of us know what that is. I do see CE in my future, just not sure when...2013 probablyemoticon

Kim, I kind of think I like doing WW better, but then again, I've only counted calories for about a week so not much time to get used to it. I've done pretty well with WW in the past (lost 30lbs a number of times), so it's familiar and easy for me if I actually track my food, which is my biggest problem. I tend to get really slack with tracking which is what I need to work on once I start the regular schedule in two weeks.

Doing Fire 55 EZ for the first time tonight and hoping I have a lot of energy for it! It's been a slow day at work, so I'm not as energetic as normal.

Sara: Fire 55 is one of my favorites! I hope you like it but be prepared for it to take about 1:20 with the new to class version. I also did WW a few times in my life and tracking is everything!

I got a 3 mile run in this afternoon. Tried to hit the window of time with the cool breeze before the thunderstorm and only got about 10 minutes in before I got poured on. Oh well...its overemoticon

Thanks! I liked it, but did the regular version. I haven't done new to class for any of the workouts so far. I've been able to keep up and if I don't catch on to everything the first time, by the second time I do the workout I'm good. emoticon

jeg, thank you for your kind reply, I know a lot of times I'm too hard on myself. Normally the kids only nap once a day at the same time and that's when I get my workout in, but tomorrow is rest day and I just might try and nap. Assuming the baby actually naps, he has been fighting it! I got 30 mins of Fire 45 in before he was up again today. I ended up bringing him to the basement and he was super amped by me jumping around, he was squealing and yelling and waving his arms around lol.

I really liked Fire 45 a lot! It definitely doesn't mess around, I kept waiting for the breather that never came. I do love that I'm able to keep up! I had someone today tell me I was looking so skinny that she actually did a double take. I don't feel like it's quite that drastic, but I did measurements and have lost some inches. I wish I'd done more than the ones on the site because those are the areas I usually lose from last. I guess if I'm losing from there other areas must be shrinking even more!

Whoo! I just started Monday (the 23rd) and I'm so excited. I have an 8 month old so I can definately relate to finding just anytime to workout lol. It's not really consistent because my daughter isn't consistent lol. I love it though. Tommorrow is my off day, and I must say, I am a bit relieved. My legs kind of feel like butter after all of that jumping lol. Oh and I track my food and excersise on Loseit.com. It's a great website and also offers support via forums.

Let's get fit!

Kim – That’s great you have started a challenge group for diet, I’d love to be more involved I am sure there is so much for me to learn healthy eating wise, very inspiring indeed.

Sarrylove – Well done on your weight loss, I only started tf on Monday gone, I can’t wait to start seeing the results you are. Are you counting calories too? Just wondering what your food plan is?

Marissa – WOAH! I just went to your profile and damn your pictures are so encouraging, looking good!

Jeg76 – What is it exactly you struggle with when it comes to eating? I had an issue of “The last time”. Every time I ate something it was the last time, everyday I told myself that for the last year. Last slice of pizza before I change and it never was! I like eating healthy in all honesty but what I really struggle with is not eating sweet food and that’s my second issue. I try and curb it with fruit, I make sure I have a banana every morning, I have cherries on my desk from yesterday and I know I have oranges in my bag, but it’s not the same hit like refined sugar. I genuinely believe I am almost addicted to sugar. I’m just making sure I prepare my food so I don’t get caught out and buy the wrong things. Also the biggest influence I have had is myfittnesspal.com. I keep track of calories and all the time I am getting shocked how calorie high some foods are which I wouldn’t normally think, I’m eating unprocessed foods, and trying my hardest to stick to my calorie goal. I won’t lie sometimes I fail but I ‘ll try again the next day!

Insomnia – Well done for getting on with your workouts, it’s great you had the motivation to start again. I have been telling my boyfriend about P90X, man it looks so intense, I reckon I will work my way through TF and then have the strength and stamina to do P90X.

Sara – I have event weighed myself, I dread to think how much I weigh. I don’t have scales at home I did measure myself, I may be able to get on to some scales this weekend, but my plan is to do it monthly too. I was working out real hard beginning of this year and I used to weigh myself at least once a week I finally gave up working out because I was gaining weight. Admittedly I wasn’t watching what I was eating, but I was so demotivated I just gave up. I realise now it was largely down to my eating habits which I am trying to control now.

Sherra – Hi, so is this how it work, we message with an update of how our workouts are going and how eating plan? Just wondering…

Kamra – I notice a lot of people do their workouts in the morning. I’m always in a fluster in the mornings with getting ready for work, but would you suggest working out in the mornings in comparison to the evenings?

Hi to everyone else in the group to, sorry I hadn’t realise there were so many people, I look forwards to keeping up with everyone.

REPORT

Turbofire : HIIT 15/Stretch10

Had a great workout didn’t realise it was going to be as short as it was, it went by so fast. Even though I broke a sweat and was trying hard I think I have to push it some more to really feel the after effects.

Eating Plan : 1270 calories daily
I have been doing well in comparison where I was 3 weeks ago. My sweet tooth is severe! I have been eating fruit and salads, eating small potions regular and drinking water, though yesterday if I am honest I kinda flopped. My Mum (yep Mum I’m joining you from the UK) gave my some samosa’s and I kinda had one to many I know I went over. No more somosa’s at home today though!

Reflection:
It’s only been my second day in and I don’t feel like my legs and arms are aching, but I can feel the workout in my body when I am tossing and turning in my bed. I think I need to push myself more!
