90 DAYS. COMMIT TO THIS AND YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

Hi, I'm Coach Sean and I am here to help you with your fitness journey. It is a journey we will take together, because I will be working out every day with you. I will be doing P90X and P90X2, but no matter your program (Insanity, P90X, P90X2, BBL, TURBOFIRE, etc.), it does not matter because we are all here for the same reason. To get fit. To get healthier. To be everything we imagine of ourselves. I've learned a lot on my journey, and I am here to share it with you and guide you throughout your journey.

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to joining you on this journey!

ENGAGE AND LET’S DO THIS!!!!!!

Nutrition
If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting is key. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet many of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

Take your measurements
Take your before & after pictures (How to Photograph your Transformation)

Motivation
Nothing is more important than motivation. Times will get tough and there are going to be days that you feel like you cannot get up or you feel too tired at night to workout. This is where your Coach and this thread help out. By joining this thread you will find like minded people that will push you and look for help from you to be pushed. This is a 90 day program and it helps to have not just your Coach in your corner but a whole team ready to cheer you on and waiting for you to cheer them on.

Workouts
WARNING: The first few weeks are rough but after you make it through them things get much better.

Too many people give up during the first few weeks because they think it is too tough. Everyone that has done any of these programs has had moments of doubt. Just KEEP PUSHING PLAY (KPP).

Pre-Workout
All the workouts are intense! You need the right fuel to “Bring It!” Your pre-workout meal actually begins the day before. So again, a solid nutrition plan is vital. A pre-workout meal about an hour before is important. Be warned: if you ENGAGE in a cardio workout too close to the pre-workout meal you may lose it.

If you workout first thing in the morning like myself, I advise a small snack (I like a banana and either yogurt or a slice of wheat bread).

Post-Workout
Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. By adding a Recovery Drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. You need to replace these glycogen stores immediately with a 4:1 ratio of quality, fast acting carbs and quality protein. Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc.

The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen. You will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth, and keep your energy levels up. I have used the recovery drink from day one and I highly recommend it.

Come to the thread every day and post your daily accountability and questions and before you know it you will be at 30, then 60 and finally 90 days.

This thread is a great way to meet like minded, motivated people that are going through exactly what you are going through. They will help you stay accountable and motivated, and you will keep them accountable and motivated! Everyone comes from different backgrounds and will be able to share tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well.

Accountability post for 7/25/2012:

Day 3 of Insanity done. Cardio Power & Resistance is absolutely brutal. He isn't kidding when Shaun T says "Power Through It! You CAN DO IT!" I powered and I did it...I just took the breaks when I needed. I now have my standard for what I can do. Next week's CP&R, I've got your number!

Hi everyone!!! Sean, sorry I've been MIA!!!!!! I was doing great....then fell after the wagon after 6+ months. There has been so much going on over the last month that I have slacked way off on workouts and have been eating very badly. SO, instead of trying to wait until Sunday to start off a fresh week, I'm starting back TONIGHT! That's right, when I get home tonight, I'm doing plyo. I've got to get motivated and back in control of things. It's amazing how much damage you can do in 3 weeks. emoticon I guess the good news is that it's new too late to pick back up and start again. emoticon

Looks like everyone is doing well!! Keep up the good work and KPP!!!

jnp43: I use a heart-monitor wrist watch by Mio ($50 from Sears). It times my workout and takes my heart rate at intervals. I enter my age, weight, and resting heart rate, and it estimates my calorie burn. Pretty handy, especially for cardio. I don't really use it for non-cardio workouts, however.

Scott: Keep BRINGING IT, man! Were you planning on trying Insanity, or maybe something more muscle-building like Body Beast? I was going to do Insanity next, but decided I hadn't had enough of Tony and the gang, yet. emoticon

Just finished Day 4, Yoga X. Felt good! I was really sore from the first 3 days, but the yoga really helped to alleviate some of that. Time for the R&R drink!

In other news, my wife and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary today!! emoticon

Did anyone watch the Opening Ceremonies last night? There were a lot of cool parts to it I thought. I think China's was more spectacular, but that's okay because the games shouldn't be about one-upmanship.

Let's BRING IT today!! emoticon

Good morning all!!

Week 8 day 6!! This morning I have yogaX and I cheated a little bit and did P90X2 yoga. So then after I did a 30 minute run with the next door neighbor. 700+ calories for the day which doesn't count finishing a bathroom and yard workX emoticon . I need to make sure that I am eating a lot as I am giving blood and that always makes me feel run down even with eating the cookies and juice after ;) .

I watched a little bit of the opening ceremony but the wife DVRed it so we are going to watch it tonight (can't stand the commercial breaks).
