Here are a few tips to get you going:
Nutrition:

• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT every day!
Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements now and at each 30 day interval

• Take your before & after pictures. Today, day 30, day 60, day 90

• Take the fit test
I can’t tell you how many people on my previous threads told me they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.
Write down everything including your reps, your weight and your food intake. Utilize the Excel Workbook to track your workout progress. P90X Excel Workbook
P90X Excel Worksheets, tey are attached below.

Also utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up and add me as a buddy. My id is rpopkin. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.

Pre-Workout:

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body “Bring It!” with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• Regardless of when you workout, you want to be fueled. Here is what I do, take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink about 1/3 of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

Post-Workout:

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-P90X workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• Recovery: After an intense P90X, P90X2, or Insanity workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The P90X Resulst and Recovery will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The P90X Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 90 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.
The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!
So, ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

BRING IT!!!

Started the last leg of the P90X with chest and back...killer workout..my shoulders are definitly feeling it. Also did the jog this morning before it became too hot. This heat is a real appitite killer...not hungry and don't feel like eating but forcing myself.I love summer but this one has been exceptionally hot and draining.

Still trying to make a decision about what to do next...considering insanity to help with the weight loss.

B: skipped
L: sliced lean ham on 90 cal w/w flat bread
D: probably the salmon and veggies
S: recovery drink, cheese stix

Bring IT!!

Hey Guys,

I'm one of your newbies.. gotta upload a pic still but glad to have a home on these boards to help me stay motivated. Rob thanks for taking me under your wing, I feel fortunate to have been assigned you for a coach.

That being said, I want to answer your questions...

I'm a 38 yr.-old mom of 3. my kids are 11,9, & 5. They keep me very busy. I also work from home as a Travel Agent, primarily Disney (so if anyone is planning a trip there, don't do it without contacting me first! I'll hook you up!)

I just started the Brazil Butt Lift program about 2 weeks ago. I was in pretty bad shape for the last couple years and needed to break out of the rut. We have a trip in a few weeks that I would really like to look decent for, but more importantly a cruise over Thanksgiving that I want to look slammin' on. I've always enjoyed working out, and have been in great shape most of my life, but about 3 years ago my middle child was diagnosed with cancer and she JUST finished treatment in May. It really took over our lives and I was barely treading water there for awhile. Pretty much living in the hospital - not taking care of MYSELF at all, b/c we were so consumed with the fight for her life. She is doing OK now & it's time to get back on the wagon. So far, the BBL has been challenging for me, and I definitely feel the burn during the workouts. I've been going strong, doing the videos daily, along with upper body workouts and lots of walking. Of course I've tried to modify my diet to low-fat/ high protein, and that has been tough after eating whatever the hell I wanted for the better part of 3 years. Gotta break that sugar habit!

So my goals are simple- to tone up, lose a few pounds of fat, gain a few pounds of muscle, and feel strong again. I think I'm already well on my way, and hope that within 3 months all my old clothes fit again. I only have about 6-7 lbs of fat to lose, so it's an attainable goal.

If you've read this far- thanks for the support emoticon

OK, so today, I did the ab workout, the sculpt workout and worked my upper body w/ free weights. I replaced breakfast & lunch with different shakes (1 protein & 1 fruit and yogurt) Dinner was brown rice, beans & chicken with a half an avocado.

Well, that's about it. I've got to work on getting a pic uploaded here next.
