HI ALL!

We have an AWESOME group of people here doing Power90 and would love to have more folks join us!

A little about myself. I did Power90 a year ago and lost 40lbs in the process! I then progressed to P90X and saw great results there and was just starting P90X2. Because of all the weight I lost and increased stamina, I was able to complete my very first marathon (Walt Disney World Marathon) this past January! I also was very active in participating in triathlons.

Then in February, less than 30 days after finishing the marathon, I stepped in a mole tunnel in my backyard and tore the meniscus in my right knee. I've had surgery and am now able to start working out again. My thought is that since its been a while I need to start from the beginning and work my way through Power 90 and then progress to P90X.

I am living proof that these programs work and I wholly believe they have changed my life and my perspective of physical fitness.

It doesn't matter if this is your first time through Power 90 or you're a pro, I would love to have the company! Right now, I'm doing the Power90 Fat Burning Express this week to condition for the full program.

I'm in the same boat. Coming off a postelateral reconstruction and meniscus tear with an autograft 9 months ago. Want to do p90x, but need to rebuild the support muscles in my knee first. Started with the Fat Burner Express on Monday, start sculpt 1-2 this coming Monday.

Petre, that's awesome we're going to be going through the same issues. This will probably help me out a great deal as I can compare how the routine is going and how modification is going to go. I'm already modifying a little bit on the Fat Burn Express, especially on the Run Stance Switch Squats. I just don't feel like my knee is ready for that type of impact work yet.

Major, I especially want to welcome you. You've already crossed a major hurdle by making a decision to better your life. Trust me, we were all where you were at one point. When I first started Power90 I had never done a structured workout. The next major hurdle you'll overcome (as well as everyone else) is to remember to 'KPP' Keep Pushing Play. This will be especially true at the end of the first week, when you're sore (and you will be emoticon ) Don't worry, we're here for you. Like I said, we've all been there. Cool screen name by the way!

WannaBe, Glad you're here! My wife and I just recently had our third son in May! We can comiserate sleepless nights!

I am looking forward to start Power 90 from Monday, I am so glad I found your thread
I would like to buy the Power half hour? 30minutes would be nice and also easy plan to follow, but I have P90 in home boot camp and P90X. I think In Home boot camp is fine for me for now

I know we have to follow a meal plan if we want this to work, so hopefully we can share our meal plans and give ideas about it, this is going to be tough but having a team will definitely make it doable

Blake, I had to modify the ski hop the most. Run Stance Squats and crescent switch are my least favorite. Day 3 yesterday had me hurting pretty badly. I've been icing my knee immediately following the workouts. Today it didn't hurt at all in the morning. I have a feeling it is just the muscle growing back in my quad where they took the tendon. The knee feels stable which is all I care about... I can will work through the pain.

I think you're right Chari. Most of the Power90 workouts are just over 30mins so they should fit your schedule more. You're especially right about the nutrition part of the program. As a good friend told me one time, in the phrase "diet & exercise", there's a reason diet is the first word! emoticon

My plan is to use the protein/carb/fat ratio method. If you're familiar with the Fat Shredder phase (Phase 1) of the P90X nutrition plan, that's what I'm going to follow for now. That would be 50% protein, 30% Carb, 20% Fat.

Keeping track of the ratio is much simpler if you use some software to keep track. My app of choice is the myfitnesspal app on iPhone (I'm sure an Android phone has the same one). Download that and then go create an account on the web on your computer at myfitnesspal dot com (BB won't let us post external websites so I had to spell it out). You can then adjust the percent ratios of the three groups as you want.

I'll tell you getting the protein levels as high as they should be is a challenge. You may want to start thinking about some whey protein supplements/drinks if you want to keep that protein high. I use the powder you mix in milk or water.

If you're the cooking type, I've attached a huge word document of healthy recipes that I found on another thread here at Beachbody. It's been great to use, especially the Slow Cooker/ Crock Pot section.

What time are most people planning on working out? My case, I am ABSOLUTELY not a morning person! I usually do my workouts right after I get home from work, usually start at ~4:45pm EST. That way, it's before I eat dinner.

You should try to work out when your stomach is empty and not right after eating. If you work out after eating then your body will burn the fuel you just consumed. If you can try to do it with an empty stomach, then your body turns to the other source of fuel it has.....FAT! So always try to workout on an empty stomach and if you HAVE to eat first just because of scheduling, try to wait at least two hours before you start a workout.

I am planning to start Power 90 as soon as it arrives which hopefully will be Monday or Tuesday. I have never done any of the Beachbody programs before.

I will follow the initial program IN HOME BOOTCAMP but sure I would like to get the Power Half hour, maybe after this 1st round cause I want to start already. So for this week is:

Thanks petredesign07. I have never done this kind of dvd program before so it will be interesting.

I am 6'1" and about 290. I have been exercising regularly for the last 3 years or so but I need to get more intense and really change my eating habits. One problem for me is a lack of skill and desire to cook. I have a vitamix coming and I want to use that a lot to really up my green leafy vegetable consumption while replacing some of the convenience goods I have a tendancy to like to eat.

I've got a Concept 2 rowing ergometer so I am hoping to supplement Power 90 with some time on that, too.

My Power 90 box has not arrived yet. I am hoping to receive it on Monday so I can start on time.

Hey all!

I've been in the car most of last night and today.

Welcome vandons! Petre was right in that this is the place to ask your questions. Chances are someone has the same question or one of us has had that question before and have had it answered. We're here for each other!

We'll talk about accountability in another post but the one thing I want everyone to remember that make sure you post when things are going well but ESPECIALLY post when things AREN'T going so well. Again, chances are some of us have been there at one point so we can help

One last thing. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR START PICTURES AND MEASUREMENTS!! It's hard sometimes to see the progress you make when you look at yourself in the mirror everyday. When you take 0, 30, 60, and 90 days pics, the results REALLY jump out at you.

Van dons, look back a couple of posts and see what I wrote about the myfitnesspal app. It really helps with the food aspect. I also posted a recipe document. If you're not much of a cooker, you should try crockpot or slow cooker recipes. The great thing about crock pots is that you put it all in the thing in the morning and just let it run all day so your food is ready when you get home.

Two days to go! Let's do this!

Hey there folks! I started P90 last Monday, so today is my 'rest' day. Saw an invite on another thread to join this group and thought I'd swing by and post.

I am one of those who has done P90 off & on over the last, oh, hundred years! While the degree of success I had was entirely dependent upon my own comittment, I was always successful with this program! I started my very first round back in June 2003 - I believe that they were still offering the option of purchasing the program on VHS tapes at the time!!emoticon Though I have let myself get distracted through the years, I always knew that my DVDs and Tony were there waiting for me to get my act together again. I've also found that I am most successful when I post on these message boards along with doing my workouts... So, here I am - if you'll have me!

Blake is right when he says to do your measurements & pics on day one. It isn't usually a pretty sight - actually seeing those numbers & physical reflections on paper - but come day 30, when you can put the new numbers side-by-side with your day one's... I know that it has sure kept me motivated to keep pushing play! That being said, I must confess to NOT having done my own measurements & pics until today, day 7 (you're such a slacker, peg!). But am going to take the plunge and post them here (oh yeah, accountability baby!)... stats only tho' -- I'm not sure just when I'll scrape up the nerve to post pictures emoticon

Not excited about it but I need to do pictures and measurements. Is there a faq on here about properly doing the measuring?

I don't have a scale so I will probably forgoe that.

The crockpot idea is a good one. I will need to stop by my local Target and check them out. Any recommendations on better crockpots to get or are they all pretty much the same?
