I've always been curious about crossfit but the problem when I've looked into it has been price.

It seems to also come down to who is running the cross fit gym too. Apparently, there are some people out there giving crossfit a really bad name but I guess that's true for everything.

I've been doing P90X2 and adding Crossfit 2-3 times a week (still getting rest days as those are 2-a-day workout days). Are you looking at doing Crossfit?

Hey RunFast!

I'm doing CrossFit! Woohoo! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I've been doing TurboFire either on the same days or on alternating days to get in some extra cardio. It's awesome!

Hi, I just tried my first ever CrossFit class this past Sunday and I really loved it. I have done several rounds of P90X over the past few years consistently, as well Les Mills Bodypump and P90X2 which I am currently finishing up.

CrossFit is so different that I feel right now (after 2 workouts only), that I need to do something else in addition to CrossFit like maybe more X2. Will I always feel like this with CrossFit? It's challenging, but seems like the workouts are much shorter in duration.

Any thoughts?

Grunt School is supposed to start for CF in a couple weeks. They asked that we only do CF workouts during Grunt School so that we really can compare times from Day 1 to the end of Grunt Class in 30 days. I am struggling with this.

Thanks so much.

HI,

I just joined Beach Body and right now because of my busy schedule (I am a Masters Student as well as an officer in the Army), so my workout schedule consists of Monday and Wednesday I have Army PT from 6-7AM, Crossfit from 7-8AM and Pilates from 10-11AM and Friday is just Army PT and Crossfit. However, when I went to schedule a workout that included crossfit in it, that workout program is not even included as a choice. What's up with that? Anybody know anything? I am trying to max my APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) in January with a 300.

As for Crossfit, I love it, not only has my PT score jumped over 50 points since I started, my aches and pains are gone. As soon as I graduate in December I am looking to replace the pilates with Martial Arts (BJJ or MMA - maybe both) I don't want to overdo it though. I am looking to lose about 5-10 lbs and tone up. I would Love a 6-pack of Abs! So basically I am looking for advice on how to continue, because The possibility of winning some money would be really cool, but Maxing the APFT consistently would make everything more than worth it.

Thanks,

Elena

I've done both and I believe that they are a great supplement to each other. P90X prepped me very well for my CrossFit endeavor because of all of the pull-ups you have to do! They are a great compliment. CrossFit is a bit higher intensity, and you need the time to be able to go to a gym. It's also dependent on the gym owner and cost. But if you do some research and find a reputable CrossFit gym near you, it's worth it. Insanity/Asylum also compliment CrossFit a great deal because of the high intensity training.

Be careful if you do try CrossFit because when you turn practice into a competition, there is a high risk for injury.
