63 DAYS. COMMIT TO THIS AND YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

Hi, I’m Coach Shawn D and I am here to help you with your fitness journey. It is a journey we will take together, because I will be working out every day with you. I will be doing Insanity, but no matter your program (Insanity, P90X, P90X2, BL, TurboFire, Tai Cheng, etc.), it does not matter, because we are all here for the same reason, to get fit. To be everything you imagine of yourself. I’ve learned a lot on my journey, and I am here to share it with you and guide you throughout your journey.

So, ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I’ll give you more important information. I look forward to joining you on this journey!

ENGAGE AND LET’S DO THIS!!!!!

First things first:

Nutrition

If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting is key. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet many of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack, it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT every day!

Track your progress

Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have goals!

Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following before you begin:

Take your measurements
Take your before and after pictures

Motivation

Nothing is more important than motivation. Time will get tough and there are going to be days that you feel like you cannot get up or you feel too tired at night to workout. This is where your Coach and this thread will help out. By joining this thread you will find like minded people that will push you and look for help from you to be pushed. This is a 60-90 day program and it helps to have not just your Coach in your corner, but a whole team ready to cheer you on and waiting for you to cheer them on.

Workouts

WARNING: The first few weeks are rough, but after you make it through them, things will get much better.

Too many peole give up during the first few weeks because they think it is too tough. Everyone that has done any of these programs has had moments of doubt. Just KEEP PUSHING PLAY.

Post-Workout

After an intense Insanity or P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. By adding a Recovery Drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. You need to replace these glycogen stores immediately with a 4:1 ratio of quality, fast acting carbs, and quality protein. Plus, low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc.

The Beach Body Recovery drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. I have used the recovery drink from day one and I highly recommend it.

Come to the thread every day and post your daily accountability and questions. Before you know it you will be at day 20, then 40, and finally the end.

This thread is a great way to meet like minded, motivated people that are going through exactly what you are going through. They will help you stay accountable and motivated, and you will keep them accountable and motivated! Everyone comes from different backgrounds and will be able to share tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well.

A little about me. I started my BeachBody journey almost a year ago. Three rounds of Insanity, one round of P90X, and recently, a round of Tai Cheng, have gotten me into the best shape of my life.

Commiting to your health can get you there, also.

Decide. Commit. Succeed.

Push Play Today

Great information Coach Shawn.

I'm just now finishing up with Insanity. Last two weeks. I can see the finish line and am pushing harder than ever. I guess that means I had some in the tank to push harder before. emoticon

I'd like to post here daily if that is okay. I know the importance of a good accountability group. I know that I always push harder when there are others that are counting on me to.

Morning CoachShawn!

way to go on getting your thread going emoticon

I'm excited to be wrapping up Insanity shortly, but also finding myself a little sad tosee it ending. That said, I've got a schedule planned out for the next few months of different fitness tasks and in the new year plan to tackle the infamous P90X/Insnaity hybrid. emoticon

Come here daily to post your successes, failures, and questions. I have learned that being accountable to a group really does make me want to finish what I started. The journey is so much better when you can share it with like minded friends.

Good luck with Insanity tomorrow. Just remember, it will be difficult, but just get through the first day. If you have to pause, that is fine. Just push through to the end.

Congratulations on your accomplishment! What are your plans after you finish? I would suggest a couple of weeks off, with a low intensity type program.

I like your thinking. Don't give up. My first round of Insanity was brutal. It took until the second month before I started seeing the weight loss.

There are two things to remember. First, your body is changing, and you may be seeing a conversion from fat to muscle tissue. Are you taking measurements of your body, i.e., legs, arms, waist, chest, etc.? That will give you a better picture than just the scale. Actually, you will want to lose the scale for a while. Don't rely on it, it will only make you frustrated. Trust me, I've been there.

Second, how is your overall diet? It is great to see you are going to start using Shakeology. I love the product. But what are you doing with the rest of your diet? (When I say diet, I mean your total food consumption, not the dreaded four letter word) If I could make a suggestion, sign up on www.myfitnesspal.com and send me a friend request, ShawnD70.

You need to be able to really see what you are consuming. I have been told, and have come to learn, that 80% of weight loss occurs in the kitchen. Get that right, and the rest will just fall into place.

KPP.

Come and join the fun! Cartwheels? Awesome! My wife and oldest son can do them all day long. My wife was a gymnast and my son is a cheerleader. I'm afraid I would probably break something. I'll leave it to the professionals.emoticon Doesn't it feel great to show up the kids? I try to get my teenagers to join me during my workouts, but they won't. I guess they are intimidated.

I really enjoy the Insanity Pure Cardio and Max Cardio workouts. They just keep building and building and building. No breaks, just go.

KPP

Thanks emoticon
My coach is firm on me taking time off the intensity to do some yoga and MAF style running. I have a half marathon to train for in September, and this will be the most fit I've ever been to run one emoticon After that I'm giving Body Beast a try (although without a lot of the supplements that are more appropriate for men, no creatine for me). After a couple of weeks off at the end of that, I'm going to try the Insanity/P90X hybrid to keep my cardio up to match the strength gains I hope to get emoticon

Lots of great information here, Shawn. Anyone under Shawn's watch is in good hands. I'm on day 15 of my second round of Insanity. I'm toying with the idea of trying Asylum after this. Does anyone have any experience with Asylum? I'm not sure what to expect.
