Any vegetarians or vegans doing body beast?
Just wondering if anyone is doing the body beast without the consumption of meat and if so what are your main sources to make sure you are getting sufficient protein.

Yep, vegan here. Just posted a similar question last week, got crickets.
I supplement with VEGA powders. Expensive but seems to work for me. I'll probably do 4-5 small shakes a day, including the Vega One for all around nutrition -- vitamins, Omega 3's -- the Performance Protein for supplemental protein, the recovery drink, and the pre-workout energy drink. Beyond that, I'll just eat a ton of what I normally eat -- beans, rice, vegetables, fruit. I bought some vegan creatine monohydrate I'll use. I'm gonna get dunked later this week to update by bodyfat % and RMR, so I can get the calories just right.

I started as vegan, but have since added in eggs (at breakfast only). I still refuse to eat meat & dairy.

I use Garden of Life vegan protein powder (2-3 times per day). I eat a lot of beans, edamame, tofu, whole grains, nuts.

My plant-based lunch today had 19 grams of protein.

I had a veggie wrap: 1/2 cup edamame, 2 tbsp hummus, 2 tbsp sliced black olives, 1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast & lettuce wrapped in an Ezekial sprouted grain tortilla. (Both the edamame & the tortilla are complete protein sources!)

PB2 (powdered peanut butter) is good if you want to add a little protein without adding too many carbs or fat. It has 5g protein per serving and only 2g fat and 5g carbs (1g sugar).

I add PB2 to my oatmeal (oatmeal also has 5g protein per serving). I pair that with either a protein shake or eggs and I've got 20+ g of protein for breakfast.

Hi, I began eating vegan about 4yrs ago & have kept a muscular body. The truth is, protein can derive from many plants & carbohydrates, plus u will need healthy fats from sources like flaxseed oil, olive oil, coconut oil, & healthy raw nuts, like almonds, to prevent ur skin from drying out. Personally for protein, I use rice protein powder, egg beaters, eat quinoa, chick peas, oatmeal, broccoli, & the Popeye special, spinach. They all r great sources of protein, I eat them in great amounts & it's worked so far. The other important aspect of building muscle on a vegan diet is to eat a lot of calories. Personally, I eat 6-8 meals a day to try to meet my goal of 3000 calories a day to keep my body weight at 225lbs. Hope this helps!

I'm up about 11 lbs of muscle so far, in the last third of round 2 of bodybeast. I eat about 120 grams of protein a day, all of it vegan, and I weigh right now 172lbs. Totally possible to do this on a vegan diet!

Egg Beaters aren't vegan.
