IsisMommy:
Hi All! I need help please!
I'm nearing the end of my 2nd week of Insanity. I'm currently about 240lbs and modifying my little heart out but I finish every workout every time. The mind and body are 100% willing to do more each set, but the energy level starts to wane shortly after the warmup! I make it through the first interval set ok, but after that it's a struggle for every ounce of energy despite what my body is still willing to do. It's very frustrating. My calf muscles also start to get very achy quickly during the warmup while I'm jogging, doing butt kicks or high knees.
I started taking the BB E&E drink before my workout but I don't think it's enough. Is there something I should eat or a supplement I should take prior to my workout that would help me power through and not fizzle out after the first set? I want my next 2 weeks and Month 2 to be much more productive so I can lose this weight and inches. I know my size is what's making me tired but I figured there must be something out there that can help.
I don't expect to keep up with the folks on the DVD, I totally get that, but I know I could do more reps if I just had some extra umph!!
Any guidance you can offer is appreciated.
Thank you,
Dianne
Hey Isis!!
Some good thoughts listed above....
SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP!!!!!
It is the most important part of any fitness program and the one that is often times neglected. When we sleep our bodies repair damages muscles ans revitalize everything. Lack of sleep causes the repair process to be "half ass". Eventually hindering the repair process is going to cause more harm than good. You would rather start off the day at 100% than 50%.... Sleep!
Next up, nutrition...yes, it makes a big difference in your workouts. I calculate accurate calorie intakes for everyone on my team and we discuss better food options for higher energy levels. What you have in a pre-workout meal can make a difference in your performance.
Hydration is another big factor, how much water you drink and when you drink makes a differnce in your workouts. Also, are you making sure to do some type of recovery drink after your workout to replace glycogen stores and repair micro-tears in your muscles?
I'll send you a msg and maybe we can talk somemore!!

This is a tough program...keep pushing!!! Cardiovascular will build in time

KEEP DIGGING!!
