UPDATE:

Dreams Do Come True

I need your help. I won Beachbody Challenge for April for my age group and Quarterly voting is now open. Please vote for me.

Quarterly Vote for Beachbody Challenge

I'd really like to connect with other women and/or moms who are going through, or succeeded on this journey to lose 100 or more pounds.

This is a really tough journey with so many ups and downs. And being female and/or a mother just makes it all the more difficult. Most men can lose weight so much quicker that women.

My name is Kim. I have 8 children, ages 25-5. I started this journey in January, 2012, when I started using 10 Minute Trainer. I have been homeschooling my children since 1993 so I often only had 10 minutes, if I had that much. I moved onto Power 90 and then stopped midway through to do Ultimate Reset. I don't exactly know why I did Reset other than the fact that most of my kids were visiting with grandparents, so it seemed the best time to go vegan. Truthfully, it changed my mindset of food and what I was eating, even though I went into it thinking that I had a pretty good diet. After Reset, I started RevAbs, which I will be completing in the next couple weeks.

I have lost 55 pounds so far, leaving me at my midpoint, 55 pounds to go. Unfortunately, I am a pessimist so I only see the 55 pounds that are in front of me, not the 55 pounds that are gone.

Join me so we can work through this journey together. I need you!

Hi Kim! I am a mom of 7.

I started my weight loss journey in Sept. 2010 at 315 pounds, when I started exercising daily. Through that and when I started changing what I ate, I got to 246 in 6 months (and stayed there for awhile.) At Christmas 2011, I gained 15 pounds back. Then, I lost 10 pounds again (with watching what I ate and part of Chalean Extreme.)

Now, I am at 252. I want the other 105 pounds GONE! I keep bouncing up and down around this number (down to 247, up to 257, etc.)

It's rough! I work FT, I am studying for the CPA exam, and 7 kids just take a lot of work. Everything else gets in the way of exercise, but I have to put myself first.

I have started the Insanity nutrition plan at 5 meals of 300 calories each. I have been doing the 15-minute Shaun T workout on Dr. Oz's website, and I plan to do it twice a morning this coming week. Then I will start Insanity.

I know I can do this - I just need to put it to the top of my list. I can fit in exercise AND the other things I need to do. I will have to exercise a LOT for the rest of my life because of how my body is.

Hi Renee!!

Wow! 7 kids, a FT job and CPA studying is a tough gig. It is tough with kids alone. There are always dishes to be washed, laundry to be done, and nothing good to eat. LOL I've cleaned up my diet so we don't have any junk in the house.

What program are you doing now?

Can I jump on this thread? My name is Arielle, I'm 23, I'm not a mom, but I have about 100 more lbs to lose. I just finished Power 90 this weekend and lost 40 lbs. I started at 304 and yesterday when I weighed myself I'm at 264. I'm about to start up with Chalean Extreme and Turbo Jam next week. It would be great to join up with other women who are battling the weightloss dragon! I am a graduate student and a teaching assistant so it can be very difficult at times to be around SUPER thin people who seem to be able to eat as much food and alcohol as they would like!

Hi Arielle!

Nice to have you join us. I did half of Power 90 (stopped to do Ultimate Reset.) I enjoyed it. My favorite was Fat Burning Express. You did VERY well with P90.

Thanks! For me the key was to commit to a lifestyle change. I cringe every time I hear the word diet emoticon

I agree that it can be frustrating have too much skinny people input- though I always love hearing from people that have been there- done that- over came it- showed how it Can be done! emoticon

I love Chalean and have started Turbofire in the past (farthest Ive gotten is about half way) and same for P90. My biggest dilemma is always the food. Always. My fiancee doesn't particularly like change- and alot of the bonding weve done in the past is over food. Its something Im trying to change. We were doing good until the last few weeks and it feels like I just fell off the ship! Haha, time to get back on emoticon

Through one means or another I have a handful of the different BB programs- and TF is still my absolute favorite. emoticon
Im hoping to finish and swing to p90x (might be a bit high aimed- but I WILL make it this time!)

My soon to be sister in law eats clean, runs a couple miles a day and does p90x- dropped almost 8 clothing sizes since the beginning of this year (putting her at a size....2) so I'm certainly using her as some motivation too!

Look forward to talking to you all tomorrow!

(and just to put it out there... to be at my goal weight I would need to drop 100-115ish) emoticon

Alright, who pressed play today?

I had Full Throttle Intervals, leaving me with only 2 weeks left of RevAbs. It is the only workout in RevAbs that still makes me say "Ugh!" when it rotates through.

I did not press play, but I did go for a walk/jog this morning and got two miles in. This week my goal is to simply take it easy and to some simply cardio before I jump into my next program.

I'm starting Chalean Extreme on Monday. I finished power 90, Sunday so I wanted a week of recovery before starting up another 90 days.

Cool. Don't forget to submit your pics and story for your shirt.

I am going to start my new program on October 1st. 90 days so it will work out well to finish by New Year's.

Just don't stick it in the dryer. My friend gets a size M (even though she is like 125 pounds) and if it ends up in the dryer, it is over. She gives them to us for my 5 year old (the one in my profile who is tiny as can be) to wear as a sleep shirt.

I had RevAbs Strength and Endurance. And then I went to Fit Club where we did Kempo X. Now I am a bit sore in spots that usually don't hurt.

This is great! Yes, submit those pictures and your story. When writing your story, really reflect on your journey and how much this has impacted you physically and emotionally. When you're at the end of your journey and have reached your results, this could greatly help other people and being this years Beachbody Challenge winner I know what happens when you achieve your goals and how it changes your whole life.

Losing 100+ lbs is not easy but it gets easier and something that is very achievable through having a strong "why" good support system and team for support and the desire to embrace the change it will require to have life long health and fitness.

Push play everyday even if you only have a few minutes to do it. Keeping that routine and structure down is vital. Follow the nutrition plan and prepare a head of time and connect with your coach and team everyday. Those factors will greatly improve your success emoticon

Kathy, Thanks so much for the advice! And congrats on the Beachbody Challenge!

I just got done with my 2 miles and now I'm icing my knees so I don't walk like an old woman for the rest of the day. I hope everyone has a great day embarking on a journey of fitness!

Kim and Rose, how are you both doing?

My scale is stuck this week. I can get it to move up, just not down.

I turn 49 on Sunday, and my dumbbells have gotten heavier lately, but still. C'mon.

My knees have gotten better over the past few months. Not Slim in 6 better (with all those squats) but better, nonetheless.

Off to dishes, laundry, and kids that need to do their school!
Kim
