I am so excited by the internal progress I have made as far as my heart rate, lung capacity, and general overall cardiovascular improvements. My goal is to get healthy. I will land where I land in my shape. I feel fantastic!

I am down over 24 inches in 28 days. 17.25 of those in the first two weeks. My starting weight is around 325. I am not weighing myself so I am not sure where I am weight wise right now. I know I am building muscle while losing inches, I just find the scale to not be the best measurement of success. I will at the end of my 60 days.

When I started Insanity I was happy to get through the first 5 minutes. I had tried it a few times but felt like I was going to die. When I started day 1 I set out little goals of get through the warm up, five minutes, 10 minutes, halfway... down to push another minute or finish an exercise. Often it would be 9 goals by the time I was done with a workout.

I also set 2 week goals instead of the 63 days. This has been very helpful. I have now completed 2 goals of 2 weeks each. Next week will be a goal by itself as I will be traveling. I am so excited that I will be half way through the program by the time I board my flight to NYC.

So my goal is to be consistent and working out during my recovery week.I rested when I needed to. My cardio has improved so much that it takes me very little time to recover. I am a dry heaver... and I keep pushing through... within reason. I heavily modify where now I can keep up with warm-up (working on consistent speed and better form) and getting airborne My suicide drills look awesome, I ma getting faster and strong. I am very realistic about my abilities and I have a good idea of when I am BS'ing myself and when I am really having a hard time. Most importantly I feel great doing Insanity.... well, I feel great when it's done... while doing it.... I may hate it most days! LOL!

I am not a coach but I am happy to help out or answer questions (I am also not interested in becoming a coach, thank you in advance for asking. I do use Shakeology.

WOW!!! Your results are amazing. I can really see a huge difference in your back area and stomach. I myself am a plus size woman (started day 1 at 254.8 lbs) and by day 28 I was down to 238 and had lost 10 inches. I know what you mean about setting little goals along the way to reach your big goal as I do the same. The warm up is always the most dreaded part of the workout for me, but once I make it through the warm up I know I can do the rest of the workout. Keep pushing hard... Can't wait to see where we both end up after 60 days

Day 29/35 Days Insanity - Core Cardio and Balance

I break up my 63 days into smaller goals. Two goals completed so far; days 1-14 and 15-28. I only missed 1 extra day. Recovery week is it's own goal as I will be traveling. I already know I have to take an extra day off due to a travel day, but I would rather do it during recovery week!

I can see how this is a recovery week especially from last week. It is still very challenging... I needed the past 28 days to build up to be able to do it. You are still going to huff and puff you are still going to sweat but you will not be exhausted just challenged. It will be interesting to see how much better I do by day six of recovery week versus day 1. Fun work out.... still modifiers (to be expected) keeping up for the most part. There is a lot of hip flexors moves towards the end. Be prepared to walk funny if you are weak in this area! Yikes!

Wow Erika, that really hit me when you said that, both the challenge winner potential and providing inspiration. Thank you, that was amazing to read. I hope I can inspire women to love themselves as they are on their journey and not just when they become an after photo. Anybody who starts these programs is far from lazy and unmotivated and nobody should ever think of themselves as anything less than beautiful. Thank you again. Your comment made my heart swell.

Congrats and Way to Go!!! Your results are amazing. I am on day 5, doing it with my husband, and I enjoy seeing others who are on somewhat of the same journey.

Day 30/35 of Insanity

Continuing on with shorter goals. This week is a goal all by itself as I am traveling. So my challenge to myself is to stick to it. I will end up taking 1-2 extra days off due to travel. Planning my meals ahead of time (going to my favorite place in NYC Fresh & Co... one will be near me most of my trip). Here is the update I posted on Instagram

I usually work out first thing in the AM. Today due to my work schedule my day ran away from me. I have been in my workout clothes all day. I did my Cardio and Recovery in extreme hit and QUIT at the 16 minute mark. I was done. I felt like I was doing Bikram Cario & Recovery. My husband continued (who has MS) and I was thinking to myself it is recovery, what is your problem. So I got over my quitter attitude and jumped back in at the 12 minute mark. Hence, the tag on the top! I already know I have to take 1-2 extra days off this week due to my travels. It was all MENTAL!!!!

Day 31 of Insanity Cardio & Core Balance

Goal 31/35 Days

I did much better today! I woke up at 3:15AM got some work done, worked out, and done all before sunrise. Feeling great! I did a much better jump in keeping up. Didn't totally keep up but a huge improvement for sure especially from yesterday. I understand much better today what he means not exhausting yourself. I raised my heart rate but kept things very stead. I have a love/hate relationship with the hip flexor portion, however, I really needed it!

Off tomorrow and back to working out Thursday AM...

Day 36 – Insanity – Max Interval Circuit

Goal: 36/49 days

Day 1 of Month 2

So I took a total of 8 days off. I planned accordingly for my trip to NYC, I knew what days I was going to take off, planned my eating schedule to be clean, etc. I was on target. Then my little one started preppy K and decided to bring a flu home (he missed 3 of his 6 first days of school). Lucky me, I started to come down with it on my overnight flight on 9/11 (an eventful flight for sure, that’s a whole other Oprah), didn’t sleep (tiny cat naps here and there). Took Sudafed, no sleep for 40 hours, then 3 hours of sleep… fever, sick, a mess. I spent 2 days trying to rest as much as possible for our MNYT1792 event, got through it, got home, and was sick in bed for two full days. Did I mention I totally rolled my ankle in a hole in NYC? I had to walk it out and I am so grateful for Insanity because even though my ankle was swollen, I was nowhere near as damaged as I would have been pre-Insanity. Thank goodness! So I didn’t wimp out and I am grateful that it happened during my recovery week. Not looking back, just moving forward. Today started day 1 of month 2. I decided I was just going to get through it and I did. I didn’t put my max effort into it, but I did get my heart rate up. Tomorrow I will be able to push much harder. The first workout of month 2 isn’t has horrible as I heard it would be. I did a pretty good job keeping up (of course I modified several moves)… actually looking forward to day 2.

Day 37 – Insanity – Max Plyo

Goal: 37/49 days

Still sick but I got up and did my work out and I brought it a lot harder than I thought I would. I broke the workout up into little goals like finish the warm-up get to five 10 and 15 minute mark. Five minute segments all the way including the half way Mark. It took me to complete 12 mini goals. That mind game helped me so much. I find that my form is much better. I still modify I break when I need to however I push myself harder each work out. I seriously can't wait until my second round. My physical and cardiovascular improvements are going to blow me away!

Day 38 Insanity Max Cardio Condition

38/49 day goal

OMG what a workout! I rested more than usual. I am not surprised as I still have a head and chest cold (end of it). This is my 3rd day into month 2 and I remember the 3rd day of month 1 was a challenge for me to complete. Although I kept checking myself to make sure I was pushing myself, the proof was in the pudding... er.... sweat on my shirt. GOOD GRIEF! Yeah! I brought it to the max that I could today and for that I am proud. The one thing that I do need to improve on is eating more and more often. I get so busy in my work and day that I don't eat enough or regularly. Fuel is important and I am not getting enough. New challenge to myself to be more mindful of my food intake.

#kpp at my own pace while getting stronger everyday! Month 2 of #insanity is no joke! I have never sweat this much ever (even in a sauna)... super excited for day 40 and the end of the first week of month 2. Just a real sense of accomplishment.

Day 39 Insanity Max Recovery

39/49 day goal

Holy cow! That was a tough workout. Again, where is the recovery in Max Recovery? LOL! It was a great change of pace for me and I love that it is more building and stretching than cardio. I could only do several reps on many moves. I get frustrated from time to time on some moves especially weight bearing exercise. My husband pointed out to me that I am twice the weight as some that are on the video. This was not a negative by any means, the point was, I am lifting, moving, and holding a position with a lot more weight on me so it will be challenging. On the other hand, think about how much stronger I have become and how much stronger I have to be to do the moves that I am doing. I am really looking forward to doing Max Recovery again next week to see how much I have grown. I am so excited to see how much stronger and more in shape I am cardiovascularly at the end of round 2 and I am not even done with round 1. This has been an amazing process!

Your results are amazing!! You truly inspire me to do this workout. I start on Monday and was really worried because of my weight that I wouldn't be able to do it. You have proven you don't have to be skinny to be able to do this! Thank you

Thank you for the comment! I am so happy that my post has inspired. I don't receive much interaction on my post but I was hoping to inspire at least one. You really don't have to be thin at all. I am not a fitness professional but this is what I do:

1) I rest when I need to. I catch my breath, get my heart rate down if necessary. Not to a full rest but manageable.

2) Some times I can't do a full exercise all the way through. That is okay, build up. I do hang out for the full session.

3) I find things around my house to help me modify. For example, I have an oversized/stuffed chair in the corner. I use this for push up's at a 45 degree angle, for the ab hops, for the level 1, 2, and 3 drills and a few more.

4) There is always a modifier. I listen to what ShaunT says about form and what I need to pay attention to.

Where I was on day 1 is a HUGE difference from day 43 (today). It takes time to build up. I break the entire program up into 2 week segments. I don't even think of day 63 (I am now on day 43 of 49... only the recovery week is a single week work out). I also break up my work outs. Such as, get through the warm up, first 5, 10, 15, 20, minute marks. I celebrate 1/2 way and I get REALLY excited when I hit the single digit mark (9:59 seconds). It got to the point that I need to start motivating myself to get to the half way mark versus the first five. I have had workouts with 12 goals!

Do the warm-up and the cool down... they matter and improved your workout so much. Learn what it really means to engage your abs. At ShaunT's recommendation, I do a fake laugh (HA) and that engaged feeling I get I know I am on the write track.

Bottom like is this, just keep going. It isn't easy but it isn't impossible. All you have to do is get day 1 done!

I am day 43 of 49 days on my mini goal. Almost there!

Take it one day at a time and it'll be over before you know it...and then you'll hop right into Round 2 because you miss working out when you don't do it! emoticon
