Nutrition
• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

• Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people told us that they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.

Write down everything including your reps, your weight and your food intake. Utilize the Excel Workbook to track your workout progress.
P90X Worksheets

Also utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up and add me as a buddy. My id is clodia2. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.

Pre-Workout

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body “Bring It!” with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• If you workout first thing in the morning like I do you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink about 1/3 of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-P90X workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The P90X Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 90 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

LET'S DO THIS!!!

Hi Ann!

I've been doing Beachbody programs for over a year now and a coach for about 6 months. I have done Chalean Extreme, TurboFire, and P90X, as well as some hybrids. How about you? What program are you working on? What's your ultimate goal? emoticon

ScottBen Awesome to hear your enthusiasm! Be sure to Bring It! every single day!

Lots and lots of great info here Sara!! Glad to be aboard this awesome ship we call motivation! Count me in! Here is my Accountability Post for the day

I did Max Interval Circuit today. It was a fun time. Never have I thought I would enjoy cardio the way I enjoy Insanity. Insanity pushes you physically but more mentally. Though I know my body can take much punishment, my mind thinks otherwise. Something I am still battling with. I don't consider my mind stopping me a weakness but more as a hurdle. Because I know when I pass the hurdle, my physical and mental journey will only get better and better. Tomorrow I am doing Max Interval Sports Training and going to add Insane Abs.

Nice job, Raz. My accountability is going to be a little different today. I'm going dancing. LOL Listening to 80s music, drinking water, and dancing like it's 1999 (although, that would be futuristic in the 80s world, right?). Nice way to get my workout in, let off some steam, and have fun. Had my Shakeology this morning with almond milk. Love that stuff!!!

Welcome aboard! Tell me a little more about yourself?

  • What are your fitness goals?
  • What program are you working using?
  • How have you been doing on your diet? What's your biggest struggle?

For me, my fitness goal is tone and maintain. The last couple weeks I haven't been "great" with maintaining my daily workout, but I've been ok. I'm going to get back to the regular program Sunday and stick with it. Part of the reason is because I started a new job that requires travel or working from home. These changes in routine can mess with you. My goal is to find the time in the routine again.

I'm doing classic P90X. I was going to do a hybrid, and still may in Phase 2 and 3, but I feel classic is most appropriate for me. With a TurboFire sprinkled in here and there, perhaps.

My diet has been decent but not stellar, again, change in lifestyle. But, I know that and I make sure to drink my Shakeology every day. I am on MFP and commit to posting my food on it. (I highly recommend it!)

Your turn!

Hey Sara, great job on starting a new thread and paying it forward! P90X is such an awesome program, I think I did 4 rounds of p90x, and I hope everyone loves it as much as I did.

Everyone, be sure to post your accountability every day, and ask lots of questions! emoticon

Bring It!!!

hi sara i am already on DAY 63 on my P90x adventure emoticon

but i love to tag along for some accountability emoticon

what are your fitness goals?
to work away that belly fat...on DAY 1 i had a lot of belly fat and it slimmed down alot already. so my goal is to get a flat tummy and keep maintaining a good healthy life.

What program are you working using?
P90X Main

How have you been doing on your diet? what's your biggest struggle

although i didn't completely follow the guide i did manage to eat the ingredients what was suggested (i didn't weigh anything). like the omelets and protein shakes etc

My biggest struggle is definately the portions...you can easily overeat and that is where my main problem lies...i need to start buying a weighing scale and weigh everything so i know what i am getting in.
I have progressed alot in eating healthy foods I stayed away from mcdonalds/KFC/Pizza joints and have bought most of them Whole foods (no processed foods) for two months...

One of the good things is with the worksheets you could at least keep up with the reps using bands. Since you can't "calorie count," just make sure you eat cleanly. There are times, especially when I'm on the road, when I have no clue what to log my meals as. But, I try to make sure they are healthy. Look at your ingredients, drink your Shakeology and I'm sure you'll be ok.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you're doing a great job! I too don't follow the guide to the letter, but I do try to at least do what you're doing and stay clear of the processed foods. Sometimes it's kind of difficult, but I'm lucky that some of the fast foods I like are made to order, like sushi, etc.

Hi my name is Jennifer I just have a question. I really enjoy this workout and I started doing it just for support for my husband who wanted to lose weight and for my son who needs to gain mass to go into the Air Force. My reason was to lose the baby fat. I have a two year old and I had a C-Section done, can't seem to lose the stomach. My husband feels he is unable to lose the stomach also. We are doing the ab ripper x along with the P90X routine, but all we have gotten was a little trim. Tummy is still there. Is there something else we should do?

Thank you ... Jenn'

Hi Jenn! First of all, welcome to the thread. How long have you been doing ARX? Also, how's your diet. Even with ARX, if your diet isn't perfect, then you may not have results. I know when I did P90X the first time, I didn't see much change in the first couple weeks, it took my body time to adapt.

Hey Sara,
This looks like a great new thread. I'm just finishing up a round of Insanity and will soon start on Asylum. This type of thread can be great for support, answering questions, and accountability. Let's hope everyone Keeps Pushing Play and successfully completes their programs!
