*** IMPORTANT TIPS ***

Nutrition
• This is the most critical part of your workout! If you want to see incredible results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! You have committed to starting a new workout, so this is a great time to commit to a healthy eating lifestyle too. Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place before starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Have questions about your eating habits or nutrition? Use this forum to ask questions and stay on track.

What is Shakeology?
• Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday! Shakeology contains protein and nutrients to start your day off right and can even be used as snack. I make a shake and take it with me during the morning drive. Have the 3pm munchies? Shakeology is a great snack to keep you fueled until dinner.

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people on my previous threads told me they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.

If you want the best results, if you want to maximize your results, not just in the Insanity Workout, but any fitness program, you MUST track your progress. You simply cannot get to where you want to be, unless you know where you’ve been, and that’s why you need the worksheets.

Calendar

Post the Insanity calendar on your wall or keep it in a safe place! Keeping track of your workout schedule is important and will keep you motivated each day. If you are wondering how to add the deluxe workouts then pay particular attention to the statement at the bottom of this Insanity calendar download. It gives you a couple of ideas on how to use the deluxe DVDs.

Team Beachbody Profile

Your profile is a great resource to track not only your fitness progress, but to list your goals too. Post your before picture so you can look back in 63 days and see your bodies transformation. List out your fitness goals, nutrition goals, and tell us a little bit about yourself.

Pre-Workout

• These workouts are Insane! The right fuel will help your body "Dig Deeper!!!" with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• Be sure you are getting the right about of protein and carbs prior to your workouts each day. You don’t want to feel flat or tired during your workouts, so eating a great meal is crucial to your performance. Spend a few minutes reviewing the nutrition guide that came in your Insanity package for some great meal ideas. I will also be sending out more information and tips to help you get create with your meals and snacks.

Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week can be tough at first! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some great results. You may want to do a few non-dvd workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready. You can also review the fit test to see what movements will be done.

• Recovery: After an intense Insanity workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stored in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually break down your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus, low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, and frustration. The Beachbody Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The Beachbody Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 60 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives. I was one of the 90% and you will too!

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

Hi all,

I'm Jen. Just purchased Insanity and should receive it before the end of this week. Not sure what to expect, but it has to be better than what I am doing now, which is not much.

Interested in getting in shape and being healthier.

Good morning all! My husband and I are doing this together! We are on week 5, recovery week! I LOVE this program, although I have had some ups and downs, feeling depressed that I have not lost any pounds. However, I do see my body starting to change and I'm hoping that month 2 kicks it into gear and I start losing some weight! No matter how discouraged I get, I just keep pressing PLAY, the way I see it, it's almost impossible to do these workouts and not benefit emoticon So I wish you all the best of luck and it's so nice to have some support along the way! Here's to dropping some dang pounds! Come on y'all, let's gooooooooooo!emoticon

Welcome Smalls72!

So glad you and your husband are doing Insanity together! Great job pressing play each day. Don't get discouraged with your results in Month 1. Many people report their best results in Month 2. Did you take your body measurements before starting Insanity? You might not notice weight loss as you could be building muscle. Also, how is your nutrition going?

Thanks for joining our group and I look forward to your daily posts.

Thank you! I took my measurements after a week and at 3 weeks in I had lost 3.5". My nutrition is pretty good, I make reasonable food choices most of the time. I do allow myself one day a week to cheat a bit, keeps me from binging and gives me something to look forward to. At first I was eating about 1500 calories a day while doing Insanity, but was told I should eat more so I have bumped it up to 1700 starting last week. It's nice, I don't feel as hungry. I'm 40, 3 kids, and currently weigh 160. Would like to be a fit 150 when all is said and done emoticon I LOVE reading about other's journeys so this forum is awesome!

Smalls72:

3.5" is fantastic! Time to buy some new jeans. Glad to hear you are paying close attention to your nutrition and making sure you are eating enough to help you push through these workouts. 1700 sounds better and you should look for signs that you might need more protein or good carbs. Staying hydrated is also really important...especially if your drink coffee or caffeinated beverages. I will give some additional nutrition tips in the next few days. So excited to have you join us!

Hey Scott, just checking in. Will you be doing Asylum as well for this round or another round of Insanity? Insanity is the first step and the Asylum. I can't wait for Asylum II coming out this fall sometime.

Hi Adriana! COngrats on your decision to do Insanity.I also went from fulltime mom to working, parttime, but it averages out because I have three kids, 6 1/2 years, 2 and 1! I started Insanity in April because I had no energy to take care of the kids in the afternoons. It was really tough and there were times in the first week I didn't want to do it. I kept telling myself it was for the kids, that gave me the motivation. Since my two little ones are 16 months a apart, I had a ton of weight from the second pregnancy added to the third. I was 164 lbs in November, then when I started Insanity I was 162. I am now doing CHalean Extreme (which I LOVE) and I am 134 lbs. Size 12 to a size 4. Insanity will take your body to the level you need it to be at when you start another program. So, 60 days and then your weight loss doesn't stop there, you will keep going because of all the fantastic progress you have made!

Good Luck!

Marisa

Hi everyone,

I am Josh and I just started my third week of insanity. I have not lost any weight yet but my second fit test I did better than the first. Here is the first two fit test results.

Exercise Teat 1 Test 2
1---------82-----96
2---------43-----50
3---------67-----74
4---------30-----45
5---------8------9
6---------10-----13
7---------20-----25
8---------30-----40

I know that some of them are not much of a gain but I am working to get better.

I am looking for a lot of help on motivation and the nutrition part of this. My current weight is 217lbs when I started this I was at 215lbs. I have been the same weight for about 2-3 years and usually fluctuate around 3-4lbs up or down. I am looking to get two things from the Insanity workout. I would like to get my weight down to 180 or at least drop my body fat % down to 19%. I am currently around 30%. I am not sure what my calorie intake is but I can tell you it is probably around 2-3000. I eat out a lot due to my job.
