Nutrition:
• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

• SHAKEOLOGY is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS:
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? HAVE GOALS!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

**I can’t tell you how many people told us that they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.**

Write down everything including your reps, your weight and your food intake. Utilize the Excel Workbook to track your workout progress. P90X Excel Workbook P90X Excel Worksheets

Also utilize the tools that Team Beachbody provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up. My Fitness Pal also has apps for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.

PRE-WORKOUT

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body “Bring It!” with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• If you workout first thing in the morning like I do you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink about 1/4 of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

POST-WORKOUT

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired. Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-P90X or INSANITY workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• RECOVERY: After an intense P90X or INSANITY workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The Results & Recovery drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The Results & Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• ACCOUNTABILITY: Post your accountability DAILY on our message board/thread! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, those that post every day are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives. The percentage is much lower for those that do not post (20%).

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

DIG DEEPER and BRING IT!!!

Nate:

Awesome job on the heavier weights and keeping track. I recommend to everyone to track their progress on weights and reps on P90X. You will be amazed at the changes from day 1 to day 90.

Glad you found the thread. I will send you a message with some additional info to get things started.

I did Chest&Back for the first time in 6 weeks, It was awesome and painful.
And, I used my new 20lb weights, which was fun! I'll do ARX later because, Chest&Back wasted me lol.

Kelley,

Outstanding job on reaching day 47! You really are on the home stretch. Also, great that you have already thought about your next step. This is not a 60-90 day program for the rest of our lives. This is a lifetime journey. We can always get better.

I will send you a message with some additional info to get things started. I was playing catch-up on messages after getting home from out of town last night. I think you might have had a question for me. If so, send me a message through the message box and we can go through that one-on-one.

A couple of quick notes for all those who have or will be hopping on this thread:

-Please give us your first name when putting in your posts. It is a great way to get to know each other and make it more personable.

-Let us know which program you are on (P90X, Insanity, Asylum, etc) and where you are at in the program.

-Try to get online and post on the thread each day. Having the Accountability is the greatest thing in keeping you on track. You want others to see how well you are doing and they need to see that they are not alone as well.

-Post the triumphs as well as the challenges. Never feel bad if you fall off track for a day or 2 with eating or workouts. We all have had slip-ups. We will be here to encourage you, motivate you, and support you.
-----------------------------------------------

Accountability for me:

-Today is the start of my recovery week of Insanity. I knocked out Core Cardio & Balance this morning. Still is a workout but was nice to have it at a slower pace as I know my body will need this week to prepare for the MAX workouts coming next month.

I will be checking back in today to see how things are going with everyone.

Welcome aboard! You have found the right place to be for support/motivation. This thread just kicked off last night but we have people that are in all stages of P90X and Insanity and I expect we will see some from other programs jump on board as well. All are welcome.

Tell us a little about yourself (name, programs done, goals, etc) so we all can get to know each other.

I will send you a Buddy Invite. Once you have accepted, I will message you with some additional info to get things started.

Congrats on starting up Insanity. You will do great and I look forward to being a part of it.

Thanks emoticon I'm Kara. I have done yoga training and more recently a program I "made up" using videos by Bob Harper. I do love Bob! He was my first introduction to exercise that wasn't yoga/pilates or walking/free weights. I have also done the "10 lb slimdown" and "10 lb sliimdown X-treme". In addition to my hour in the morning 6 days/week I walk for 30-60 minutes in the afternoon after work as many days as I can.

My fitness goal is to continue improving in as many different areas and different styles of exercise as I can! I keep old favorites, rotating them in, but get bored quickly if it's the "same old same old" routine.

Hey Brandon. Welcome aboard! Good to hear you are all healed up and ready to hit this thing!

As I said in my last post reply to Kara, tell us a little about yourself as it helps us all get to know each other (name, program, prior programs, goals, etc).

I will send you a personal message with some additional info to assist you in starting things off.

Good luck.

Okay Bob!

Hey Everyone, My name is Brandon. I am 18 years old. I am doing insanity and I am on my 3rd week. I know its kind of late jumping in this thread. But I need the motivation to keep going!

Ive always been the fat kid at school. I had lots of friends. But I still felt very insecure. So I decided to do something about it. I am going to lose all this weight! I am putting in 110% effort! Last week for all of you that did not know. I hurt my ankle pretty bad. I was doing the fit test. And I was on globe jumps and slipped and hurt my ankle. I finished all of it and beat my last fit test by alot. So I went to the doctors on tuesday to get it checked out. He told me to stay off of it, But as stubborn as I am. I did not listen, I ended up making it worst. So I decided to stay off of it till it heals. And it is healed! If anyone wants to follow my videos(weekly) Check it out!

I have my job interview in an hour! So I will talk to everyone later! Hope everyone is having a great Monday!
