Hello BB community!

Here's a quick rundown of what has happened...I'm 38 and just a few short months ago, I was in the best shape of my life: My nutrition was awesome (I follow The Primal Blueprint) and I had completed a round of Insanity and Asylum. Then...

...we PCSd (military jargon for "moved") from Germany to GA. Despite my best efforts, I could not stay on a clean diet and long story short, I really couldn't work out.

In the past, I was quick to own my bad choices and when I took measurements, I faced them. I'm lacking courage this time. I will have my hubby take my measurements for me and then hide the scale. No matter what, I'm doing LMP and getting my nutrition back on track, so I don't want to start out feeling mentally/emotionally defeated when I see the measurements. I really want to focus on the PROCESS and I hope you will join me. I would really appreciate sharing this experience with others.

BTW, this is my first round. I'll be looking at the nutrition plans today and getting my grocery list set up accordingly.

Only 12 days and counting before my first round of LMP begins. I just bought some Tropical Shakeology (including the canister) and I will be taking measurements this evening. I am REALLY dreading that, but I know I will be glad I did when I'm on the other end of LMP.

I hope someone will join me on this journey emoticon

Okay--what other programs have you tried and how does LMP compare? My favorites are CX and Insanity though I've done TF and some of P90X and Asylum as well. I really prefer weight-lifting b/c I burned out on cardio in my 20s.

Les Mills Pump was actually the first beachbody program I have done. I have done a little of 10 minute trainer(borrowed from a friend to try it out), and some workouts in p90x. I really enjoy the weightlifting in Pump. I took a class similar to it at a local gym, saw the infomercial on tv, and ordered it. It was a great decision!

I feel I get a better workout from Les Mills, but I think a lot of it has to do with the enjoyment of the program, and the motivation to do it. They switch out trainers, which keeps it interesting.

I am also going to order Les Mills Combat when it comes out.

Hi CJ emoticon I'm in Phase 2 of LMP and I really enjoy the program. It's the first program that I've really stuck with and will finish. I've attempted p90x 2 times, but I give up after a little over a month each time. I'm sure you'll like LMP and see great results emoticon

& there's awesome food in GA, lol. I'm sure it's all bad for you, but tastes so good, haha. I swear, when I go there, I gain a ton of weight.

Josh--I just read your profile--very inspirational! Now I feel REALLY blessed that you'll be in the group with us emoticon

Jess-- Do you prefer "Jess" or "Mitz"? I am SO GLAD to hear that you enjoy the program! I tried P90X a couple of times and just couldn't get into it. It feels guy-centric, even though there are women on there--at least to me. I did order P90X2, so I guess I actually need to go through the P90X program so that I can follow it up w/ X2!! **I did find some good food here in GA...though much of it is actually not very tasty to me. I think we got spoiled when we lived in Europe for so long--they really have quality food over there.

10 more days and I'll be on my next fitness journey! No joke...this is the FIFTH time that I've started a program b/c I have let myself go for some reason or another. But I am pledging to myself to make it the LAST time!!! Thank you for joining me emoticon

Jess is fine emoticon I liked p90x, but I guess I got tired of the workouts lol. Wow, so after pump you're gonna go back to p90x and then p90x2? Good luck! My first plan is to finish Les Mills Pump, then I'm thinking...maybe Turbo Fire emoticon

I haven't completed any programs so far. I started doing Zumba last year and it worked for a while but my eating was killing me. Attempted p90x twice, and mixed in a few workouts from Insanity and Brazil Butt Lift...but never did those programs.

My boyfriend and I tried LMP at our Zumba Instructor's house and we bought it the next week and started the program together emoticon I've been trying to eat better and exercise 10+ times a week so far. This week isn't going very well for me. I stayed home today because my cramps are killing me and I'm in no shape to be exercising today emoticon I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to do it. I hate being behind on workouts. Next week I'll have to really work hard to get back on track.

And don't worry about it being your 5th time. It'll be okay. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves. Just start and keep at it emoticon

Jess-- Well, I've been paying attention to the chatter over LMP and it seems that not only do people enjoy LMP the whole way through, they seem to get more out of it AFTER their first round! I love hearing that. So I'll either do a few rounds of LMP or yeah...I might try to find some courage to get through P90X once and for all emoticon** I have done TF and I really enjoyed it. It feels slightly redundant at times, but Chalene is amazing and very motivational. She'll give you a good workout for sure! So you are definitely someone who needs to shake things up a bit--I like that!

Josh-- You seemed very determined to get into shape and lose weight. It's going to be great having you and Jess as accountability partners!

Vince (my hubby) and I follow The Primal Blueprint. We love it. It's similar to Paleo, but is less restrictive. We don't even feel like we're on a special 'diet'. The food is delicious, easy to prepare, and we always drop weight.

To prep for LMP in 9 days, we took before pics and measurements (GULP!!). I didn't have the courage to peek at the numbers...I'll save that for when I've completed the program! I want it to be an awesome surprise emoticon

Jason--YES!! Definitely! We need all the support we can get!

So, I was remiss in not reading the guides before today...I completely forgot that there is usually a "prep week" of meal plans before the actual workouts begin. Today is supposed to be Day 1 of the "7 Day Jump Start". I'll have to start tomorrow instead...it will be impossible to get groceries today.

I am pledging to stick to the meal guides 100%. I've never done that before, even though I've done plenty of BB workouts. I need a drastic change and follow the guides feels like a drastic move, so I know it's going to work emoticon

I will be ordering shakeology shortly and plan to replace breakfast with shakeology for the next 30 days. I hope to see some great results between pump and shakeology.

Going shopping today! I think I'll have to amend the meal plan. Per the Primal Blueprint, I have cut grains out of my diet so I'm nervous about introducing any back in. I have some gluten sensitivities so this is something I'll ask my sister about. I believe she went through 2 rounds of LMP and has the same dietary issues...in fact, she's the one that introduced me to Primal.

6 more days--I'm starting to get nervous now! emoticon

Hi guys!

I ordered my LMP and it should arrive tomorrow! I need to lose that last 15-20 pounds that just keeps hanging on and get toned and strong! Going to take my measurements and before photos tonight and will post tomorrow....great to have some support from others just starting a new round!

@CJ: Well, a few more days til you start. Are you getting excited?

& yeahh...I'm still deciding what I'm doing to do after. I actually really enjoy LMP so maybe I will do it again...haha, we'll see. It'll be hard going back to Pump Challenge after doing the hour long ones, lol.

I went down to my local gym and took a body pump class. Now I know how weak I am in some areas. Felt good though and I enjoyed the class.

@Karen: Always great to have more people for support.

@Jessaka: Some people start with Pump & Shred or the 55 minute videos when redoing the program. There is another thread on here where the lady started at the beginning, but she is challenging herself with higher weights.

@Jason: The live class is great. Glad you enjoyed it too. There isn't a Les Mills Bodypump class around where I live, but they do have something called Group Power. It is pretty much the same thing, but with a different name.

I'm starting a LMP/Insanity combo on October 1. I do Insanity as it's designed to be done, and add LMP 3 days a week. I won't be starting at the beginning, with pump challenge. I'll be doing Pump & Shred, Pump Revolution and Pump Extreme. If that's OK, then I'll join you. Some groups want to all be on the same workout on the same day. I love LMP. I can't say it's my favorite workout because I also love Insanity, but it's definitely tied for my favorite.
