TIP: Take your before pictures. You do NOT need to post them, but you will want them for comparison at day 30 and day 60. I attached my before and after pics from my first round so that you can see an example of some poses.

Seven Days and counting down until we begin.

TIP: Wear some shoes with cushion. Shaun T recommends cross trainers. You will be doing a lot of plyometric movements and alot of jumping, and your feet can take a beating. Addtionally, try to land softly, that will also help.

6 days until the program begins.

TIP: If you want to see real results, you have got to maintain good nutrition and eating habits. Follow the nutrition guide as best you can. You can use a calorie counter like myfitnesspal.com to help you manage your nutrition throughout the program. Myfitnesspal also has a phone app with a bar code scanner to help with ease of tracking.

Welcome to the group. I can totally relate, and I can attest that this program is a great tool to help with your fitness goals.

What are your fitness goals for this round?

I've done Insanity before and love it. I am 280 lbs right now, would love to get down to 250 at the the end of this round. My ideal weight is about 225.

5 days until the group gets started

TIP: If you want to get the best possible results during this program, you have got to get your nutrition in check. If you are not honest with the person in mirror, daily, about what your are eating, then your results will be minimal. Some things that helped me were: Fried foods - gone; fast food - gone; reduced artificial sweeteners and sugars; drank a lot of water daily; small meals; limited the carbs at night; started replacing staple foods in our house with healthier options, (ie, brown rice instead of white rice, almond milk intead of dairy milk). I also started drinking Shakeology daily. These are some choices that have helped me to lose 40 pounds since 21 May. I did not stop living, I just made smarter choices. When I go out to eat, choose healthier, and no appetizer, things like that. You have got to change the way you think about food. Try to cut back on your "comfort" eating. It's gonna happen, we are not perfect, just minimize the cheating. Do your best.

I'm starting insanity again on the 1st. I'm gonna add some upper body strengthening and running this time. I mistakenly thought I'd be able to phase easily into running after doing insanity the first time. When I tried that, I realized on that first run that the only thing that prepares one for running is running. Insanity works the fast twitch muscle fibers. I also need to get stronger (and more flexible) to be the best martial artist I can be. My triceps are still too weak right now. So anyway, that's my goal for this round.

Welcome to the group. Were you able to complete your Insanity round? I may pick your brain about a running program some time. Martial Arts, awesome.

The first time, yes, I completed. Any time after that, I kept getting bored in the first month and never again made it to the second month. Plus, insanity doesn't always line up best with my other fitness goals as it's difficult to do a strengthening program in addition to it because it might result in overtraining a muscle group. This might be my last time doing only insanity. Next time I do it, it'll probably be a hybrid with P90X.

I will be starting a P90X/Insanity Hybrid group mid November. I will keep you informed closer to the date as a reminder.

Welcome to the group. That is great that you have an active coach assigned to you. I did not at first, and was kind of out in the wind with no guidance until I joined an Insanity group during my first round, and my current coach helped me to complete the program. I definitely would not have finished without his support.
