Are you looking for support? motivation? accountability?

Are you ready to make a change?

Did you say YES? I hope so cause you came to the right place!

Welcome to TEAM ENGAGE

My name is Solana. I'm a Team Beachbody Coach here to provide as much support, motivation, ideas, and fun. I've completed TurboFire, ChaLean Extreme, and TF/CLX hybrid, and Insanity. Currently, I'm on round 2 of pure INSANENESS!! No matter what program--Insanity, P90X, TF, CLX, BBL, etc. or where you are--newbie, veteran, or current--you are welcome to join this thread. TEAM ENGAGE is about helping everyone on a journey to end the trend.

Let me start off by introducing myself. I'm saving you a step from checking out my bio. I'm from Hawai'i--born and raised. I'm married for 12 years. I'm 32 and hope to look young like many others at 37, 40, 50. I have 3 kids (13 year old girl, 12 year old son, and 4 year old "teenage" girl). Yes, my youngest gives me more "drama" than my actual teenagers. I am a full time preschool teacher of 20 children. Working out prepares my day for energetic lively kids. Thanks to Chalene, Shaun T and the rest of Beachbody. Lol.

My fitness journey started in August of 2011 with a weight loss challenge among friends. I have done TurboFire, Chalean Extreme, a TF/CLX hybrid, and a round of Insanity. I'm on round 2! My heaviest was in 2010 at 153 pounds. Not an ideal weight for a short 5'1" gal! I had to do something (according to my cousin, short people have reached their perfection, if you keep growing you still have perfecting to do). Yeah, okay cousin. Lol. Today my weight is between 116-120. But I've been in the best shape of my live physically and mentally. I feel stronger, I have energy, and I can do PUSHUPS!!! Lots of them!

So...Are you ready to join? Just reply to this original, very first post in this thread and introduce yourself as a newbie with your name, your program, your goals.

Once you do that scroll up to the top of the thread and click “subscribe” in the upper right corner of this first post. Then read the next few posts below. Let's be supportive of each other. When someone new introduces themself, welcome them, comment, etc. This is a team effort. Alright, here we go!! Don't forget to buddy request me.

My name is Katrina and I just recently moved to the middle east. I have seen some beautiful sights and have done alot of picture taking. That being said I HATE the way I have let myself go and look in these pictures. I just started Insanity and am about to complete day 4 in a minute. I do portion control and am eating moderately healthy. (I'm not staying in the middle east forever so when I am offered authentic cuisine I will try it but a small portion) Most days I am in control of what I eat so that is rare. I need all the support I can get.

Hi Katrina! Welcome to the thread! And thanks for being the first to reply. You came to the right place for support. It is our natural human instincts to let ourselves go whether it be taking advantage of being pregnant, stress, work, finances, it goes on. But it is up to our own self to make the change and YOU are doing it!

You are on your way to greater things--you are pushing play and you are taking care of your nutrition. I say nutrition because I HATE the word diet because it's viewed as if "one HAS to eliminate foods" or "one would need to starve". Nutrition is eating what you can in portions, like what you are doing.
AND don't feel bad if you NEED an occasional cheat meal.

My sister is in Afghanistan serving there. I jut pray she comes home safely. She often complains about the food in different parts of the country.

Once again welcome to the thread. Check in for accountability, motivation or just ask questions or even to vent. Take care and have a great weekend!

Good morning Coach Solana.

Just read your Bio. Wow! Dropped 40 lbs from working your butt off after 3 kids. That is awesome.

With all those Chalene workouts you have completed it looks like you are a Chalene protege. I have to say though, you kind of look like Tania from Insanity.

Accountability:
I am currently doing a mosh of P90X/X2/Insanity/Running. Yesterday was run day. I'm about to go push play on X chest/back.

I look forward to coming here everyday and getting to know everyone.

Hey Coach Solana-Ann!

I have to agree with Jason, you do look like Tania from Insanity! emoticon I am currently doing Insanity and have almost completed week 3....feeling great but not seeing much "body image" improvement just yet, is this normal or should I be seeing better results by now? I have actually gained 2 lbs since starting but I'm not going to let that discourage me.
I'm also looking forward to being able to become a Beachbody Coach as I am Canadian and it's about to be available to us! Any tips for me would be greatly appreciated!

TurboFire, CLX, P90X , Power 90, Insanity, whatever. It does not matter. Main thing is there is support.

I read your bio and amazing pictures! Not ashame to say your age cause you look young and hot! And thanks for the compliment onlooking like Tanya emoticon
I hope to look like that at 37. I think I'm 32? Yes did that math. I feel I burst some brain cells from birth. >_>

Chalene happens to be one of my motivators such a high spirited individual. I hope to become a certified trainer in any of her programs. Congratulations on starting Insanity! You are almost done with month 1. Every program you'll experience a different progress. Your 2 lb weight gain may be from gaining muscle. I'm assuming your nutrition is good??? One thing to Keep in min is muscle weighs more than fat because of it's density. Although you are not using weights or equipment for strength training, Imsamity is a cardio and strength training program that uses your own body weight. It is possible that your gain is a good gain. Don't base your progress only with the scale. Did you take measurements? Use it and track it.

My journey with Insanity went something like this: during both rounds my weight fluctuated between 116-120 and still is. In round one month one, saw lots of changes in in my strength and endurance. In month 2 saw lots of changes in the upper body and minor in the lower body (the dreaded area of womanhood--hips, thighs, butt, and pooch from pregnancy). In my second round of month 1, I've notice lots of changes in my lower body. I'm in month 2, and feel my upper body strength is crazy.

Anyway, thanks for introducing yourself. Feel free to stop by, ask questions, vent about ShaunT's creation of globe jumps and power jumps (my highest dreaded workout). Subscribe to the thread at the top right of the post to receive emails. And don't forget to send a buddy request. Oh and befor I forget, Team Beachbody just announced a coaching opportunity for Canada!!! If you are working with a coach and are looking at th coaching opportunity, contact your coach.

Hi, My name is Cassandra!

I have been doing Turbo Fire for over a month now, It's fun i want to keep up with this. I bought my first beachbody disc in 2005 it was Turbo jam! I love all Chalene workouts! She is so energized!! I did Turbo jam on and off, this is my first time really sticking with a program, this time i'm more serious, and something has gots to give. Since i started Turbo Fire August 5, I have lost 10lbs, I can fit back into my size 8 pants barely, but before i could not get them no where near buttoned! I work with Toddlers at a Christian Church, and so I love to work out a hr before work starts! Working out gets my mind focused. I also have Hiphop abs, 10min trainer and slim in 6! I'm glad you got this thread going Solana!! Oh I just became a coach as well when I started this program, so i'm a new coach trying to learn from some of the vet coaches!! emoticon

Hi Cassandra,

Thanks for the buddy. I can't send personal messages from my phone. So here goes...

Congrats on completing a month of TF and losing the weight! Doesn't it feel amazing!

Welcome! I so dearly love Chalene. She is such an amazing person. Have you ever listened to any of her calls? She is frickin' hilarious! I can't wait to join back up with her once I finish Insanity.

I completely know how you feel with working with young children. My first two years, I felt so drained but LOVE my work. I did lose weight at one point an had tons of energy. Then had baby number 3 and felt so drained. Now, I feel so energized. I no longer come home needing a nap. The only thing that takes a toll on me is when I do music and movement with the kids. My legs are so dang sore and exhausted from my workouts!

The reason I started this thread is to provide support and motivation for someone like you! Some of us need accountability. Check yourself in daily in WOWY. Post in here. I also want this to be a place where we can have fun, share our experiences or complain about the most difficult move ever or rave about some hot abs like Shaun T. Haha.

And welcome to the world of coaching. Would you be able to message me your email. I can't send messages through TBB's system. It doesn't work.

Have a great weekend!

Solana! Great thread you got here! Here is my accountability post for the day!

I did Max Cardio Conditioning and then Insane Abs. Since it was my last routine of Insanity, I definitely brought it and dug deep. Another personal best for me. Had to break a couple of times due to nausea and some odd feelings. It was due to an energy enhancer that was not Beachbody made. Never doing that again. Had another personal best with Insane Abs too. Pushed myself harder on that routine than I ever had and got the burn I have always wanted. My core is extremely sore but I was smiling because I love it! Tomorrow is the fit test and then I am done! Thus the preparation for P90X2 will be at hand! WOO WOO!!

Raz,
Aww thanks for the compliment. Welcome to my thread and thanks for replying. Does it seem like the last day and the last fit test we try to do even more, dig deeper than ever, until we feel like our guts are gonna come out. Ha!

Congrats on your accomplishments! Is this your first attempt at Insanity? Btw, love the transformation. I would love to see your fit test results. Would you be kind enough to share here too?

And I must ask, are preschool teachers considered heros? I just had to ask. Your bio was frickin' hilarious. "hunky nerd", I think there are some.

Yes, I'm feeling much stronger in my upper body since starting Insanity! Once I stepped on the scale and noticed the 2 lb weight gain I was afraid to measure inches emoticon My husband tells me I'm getting skinnier and that I'm loosing my boobs! emoticon (typical man way of thinking...lol) I'm trying to decide if I should do two rounds of Insanity or finish one round and then do CLX...what do you think?

and as for our friend Mr. Shaun T....love him, love him more when he takes his shirt off, but hate him when he makes me do globe jumps!!!! LOL

Talk to you soon!

Hey Solana, looks like you got a great group starting here.

I finished insanity about 3 weeks ago and after a short break have intensified things with month 1 workouts followed by 30 mins of weight training 4 or 5 days a week. Current plan is to continue for another 3 weeks with this and then start either p90x or body beast after another short rest.

Looking forward to meeting people here and getting to know everyone.

Hi matthew

Thanks for visiting my thread and welcome! I read your bio and awesome job and congratulations on completing a triathlon! I can't imagine the feeling of accomplishment. Would you consider like completing a program? Cause when I complete a program I jump, celebrate, and boast about my accomplishment. While a triathalon is not on my list, I would love to do a 5k or something small.

Looks like your current workouts will get you closer to losing that belly fat you mentioned. Keep up the work! Like they say, the more muscle you have, the greater the metabolism, the greater the metabolism, the sooner the fat should fade.

Hope to see you stop by more. And don't forget to "SUBSCRIBE" to the thread to receive email

Pull out that tape measure! It takes others to notice the differences we can't see. And the boobs--of course can't forget that. Ugh! Why can't the fat from stubborn areas make its way up there. Goodness gracious! Lol.

As far as your next workout, follow your heart. What? You didn't want to hear that? Sorry. Here is what happen to me. I tol myself as round 1 was nearing its end that I'll go back to TF or CLX. But Noooooo, I went straight back to Insanity. Instead I'll give you tips:

If you want to build more strength training and cardio go with Insanity. I got more results with round 2 especially on the lower body.
If you want to focus on strength training and some cardio an slow down the pace I your workouts go with CLX.
Or you can do a hybrid with both

Have a good night!

Suppose I should update that bio. Down about 35 lbs this year, looking and feeling great. Still have some unwanted fat, but not much left. Over the past 4 months I've only lost about 10 lbs, but the physical changes have been enormous. Thanks insanity. Hard as hell, but it works.

Re finishing the tried, it was a great feeling. It was just a sprint tri, so not a full Olympic, but still a challenge for me. I plan on doing a full Olympic soon. I'm very goal oriented and nothing encourages you like plunking down the cash for some event that you then must train for. Highly recommend it.

Great stuff Matt. After the work you did this last round of Insanity you should be proud. Seeing your transformation photos when you finished showed how hard you really worked at it.

Keep it up and pp2d.
