Questions around Round 2 of P90X
Hi All,

I am just starting Week 12 of P90X. While I've gotten great results, I want to go another round. Given this, I have several questions:

1. The booklet indicates you should take a two week break between rounds...what exercise regimen should I follow during this break period? If I do no resistance exercises, it will be 3 weeks of no resistance (the 1 week recovery period and the 2 week break...) and I'm concerned that I will basically be starting weight-training over with that long of a break.

2. How about diet during the interim period? Which Phase of the Nutrition plan should I follow for the 2-week break period?

3. When I go through Round 2 of P90X should I follow the three Phase nutrition plan, again? I want to shred more fat. I'm at 16% body fat but my original goal was 10%...might be tough given I'm a 46 year-old male...but I want to give it a shot. So, I think I should start with Phase 1, at least.

Hi Alex,

I would just start another round after the last recovery week if your feeling good. If you do decide to take a two week break, start a little bit lighter than what you left off at when you finish your first round.

As for the nutrition, If you want to lose body fat at a faster rate go ahead and switch to the Fat Shredder phase. Switch to the the second phase if you need extra energy or don't mind waiting a little longer. Your goal is definitely reachable, just be sure to consistently eat right and track everything to be sure. If you need any help feel free to message me, I'll send an invite. Good luck!

Per your recommendation I went straight into a second round and am feeling great.

I'm now on Weedk 8. Although I've been on fat shredder since Week 1, it's taking longer to burn off than I had expected, but I am at 14% now, heading to 13%.

I'm now starting to think about what's next...P90X2? Insanity?. I could do another round of P90X, but am thinking I should change it up some.

Thoughts?

Thats great to hear your progressing! Yeah, as you get closer to the finish sometimes gains slow down. If your hungry for change I would definitely recommend going with P90X2. Especially if you enjoy P90X and want to keep lifting weights. Insanity is more cardio based by design with less focus on strength. I might start a round of P90X2 myself after I'm done with this P90X/Insanity hybrid I'm currently on. Keep up the good work!
