Looking for anyone who wants to start Power90 Master Series next Monday (10/1/2012). It's an opportunity to share results, offer advice or just complain about Tony's sense of humor!

I'd like to start Monday. I've already tried a couple videos. I'm on day 36 of power 90, but I've been bored with it, so I got the master series videos. I've substituted 2 Cardio videos so far from the MS, and I like them. I was thinking of following the MS lean schedule starting Monday.

CoachJA - I feel like a stalker. We seem to be on the same schedule! I also took a bit from you and will start Thai Cheng as well.

As far as the Master Series, I just finished Sculpt 5/6 and I feel like a newbie to workouts all over again! There's so much to do to just complete all the reps, much less master them! It certainly is day one all over again.......

I know you have been doing Thai Cheng for a few weeks now. I was thinking of doing it in the evening. I normally do the Power90 workouts about 3:30-4:00 pm. I was thinking of doing the Thai Cheng about 7:00 pm (bedtime is 9:30 as I'm up for work at 4:30 am). Do you think this is a good approach?

Cool. I started the Master Series yesterday as well. I took 2 weeks off in between to recover from P90. Did OK but encountered some shoulder pain doing the dive bomb push ups. May have to modify that a bit until I figure out what's wrong with my shoulder. But man, that was tough.

It's nice to be followed, just don't ride by my house since I was gone for the weekend and the grass needs to be mowed, lol.

I've been doing Tai Cheng at night as well (around 9pm) and it's worked wonders for me. I feel better, sleep better and have a lot more energy in the morning when I wake up. I highly recommend the evenings!

Day 2 (Sweat 5/6, Ab200) done. There is a lot of jumping around.....I'm glad I bought a huge mat that's .5 inches thick! I fared a little better at the sweat than I did yesterday. My calorie expenditure was about the same as Sweat 3/4 (according to my heart rate monitor), though I didn't feel as tired afterwards....maybe it's the longer cool-down.

StratMatt - you seem to be on a similar schedule as well. I finished Power90 and took about 1.5 weeks off until yesterday.

Yeah, funny that. I plan to move on to P90X once this round is done. Sweat 5-6 yesterday. Sore legs today. Only 88 days to go. KPP!

Hi all,

Just thought I'd start posting on this thread, as I've been away from this website for a few months. I completed Power 90 back in the spring with tremendous results. I was highly involved in a thread on the Power 90 message board. I read and posted almost daily. Then over time, as I started to do the MS discs, I more or less cut back and eventually just gotthe habit of not coming on here at all. I miss doing it, as it helped keep me motivated. But the thread I was on became crowded with more and more new people starting Power 90, and I was moving on.

Also, even though I have continued to work out...I have tailed off from the normal 6 days a week routine. I have basically just been alternating Sculpt 5/6, Sweat 5/6, UML, and Sculpt 3/4 ( I go back to that because it is so push-up intensive) for the last few months...and have just recently incorporated the Cardio Intervals into the mix. The bad thing is that even though I've maintained my results, I haven't actually made any gains as of late. I think that is mainly because right now I'm only getting in 3 or 4 workouts a week. My weekends usually are filled up, and I'm out of town often. Softball on Thursday nights, and other things basically mean my window right now has been Sunday through Wednesday. That's not bad, but I really want to get back to that set routine. In fact, I would say that my cardio endurance is actually worse than when I finished P90, as the Sweat 5/6 is actually harder for me now than it was when I first started. Back then, I was fresh off P90 and was at full strength.

I have watched every MS video, and I'm still intimidated by Plyo Legs. That looks like a beast!! However, I know I have to get to that point soon...and the only way to do that is to be more consistent with my workouts. I know Sweat 5/6 and Sculpt 5/6 like the back of my hand, but I have to start mixing it up some more. So I am happy to offer any advice or opinions on any of those two discs...but going forward, I want to get more familiar with the rest of them. I figure this is a good thread to start writing on, because it looks like those involved are just starting up this week.

Let's keep each other motivated! Looking forward to this new journey with the rest of you.

Wade

Wade - welcome to the small, but growing group! Everything I read says to do 5 workouts a week to maintain your results.....I haven't hit my goals yet, so can't really comment based on personal experience......

I watched all the videos, and some of them scare me, but I'm going to give it all my best attempts. Today was my 2nd sculpt 5/6 and I did do a little better than the first day. I have a long way to go, which intellectually is a good thing...it keeps my brain and body challenged.

My bottle cap is the right height, my arms are just not long enough when squatting down!!!!! Is there a program to make my arms longer or do I just have to keep working on form?

Thanks Prufrock,

Yeah, the Russian Ruble Squats are a little tough, especially at first...but I can promise you guys that it does get easier. Your balance will improve as well, and eventually you'll be able to do a full set without having to use your other leg to keep from falling over. The toughest thing for me on Sculpt 5/6 are the "under the fence" push-ups. Even after doing this workout for several months, I still haven't progressed beyond doing 4 of each set. (Meaning, 4 wide push-ups followed by those under the fence one's). I want to get to the point that I'm doing sets of 7 just like Bobby does on the video. Elevated Chair Dips are also tough for me...much tougher than having my feet on the ground.

As for Sweat 5/6, I find that I'm good to go once I get past the 1st set of 3 routines...so basically, the Duck and Cover, Twist and Pivot, and the squats sequence. Not sure why those continue to be so tough for me, but they are the reason that I'm still hesitant to try the Plyo Legs video. I actually enjoy the rest of the workout once I get done with those 3 sets.

Last week, I did Cardio Intervals for the first time...It was definitely a challenge, but I enjoyed that workout a lot. I like it much more than Sweat 5/6, but that could just be because it's something new. I recommend trying it.

I normally don't post every day, but I feel like I have to for now. The one and a half week break I took after the regular power90 seems to have gotten too comfortable......I'm trying not to listen to the excuses my mind is giving me to not do the workout.....

Sweat 5/6 - ab200 done for the day. I almost have the hang of the punch sequences. They are confusing to me, but I almost have it....I'll see in 2 days!

I have to be careful about the jumping....my knees have seen better days. The mat I bought before going to the master series has helped.

I bought quinoa for the first time....anyone have any ideas on how to flavor it....any good recipes you can recommend?

Totally with you on that first set in Sweat 5-6 Wade. The Duck & Cover kills, especially once it starts following the squats. The twist and pivot is a refreshing break in that part. Also, did something to my right shoulder and just plain cannot do the dive bomb pushups. Strange because nothing else seems to bother it, even the presses in Strength 5-6. But as soon as I start rolling "under the fence" I get excruciating pain in my shoulder and I do not make it through. Think I'll modify and do a different pushup there for a while. But hey, got through another day! 4/86. KKP.

Four days into Master Series, and it's definitely a step up from Power90 3/4! I'm enjoying the new routines though, as much as torture can be enjoyed I suppose, lol. I looked at some of the other DVDs last night, and I'm in agreement about Plyo Legs, they may be scraping me off of the floor when I do it for the first time.

Hope everyone is doing well wherever you are in the MS program. Right now I'm going to go work the "business" side of Beachbody and get my weekly newsletter ready for mailing.

Have a great weekend in case I don't post before then, and KPP!

Day 5 complete.....a little better, which is all I strive for....just small improvements. I upped to a different band for the bicep stuff. I will be in pain!!!

Russian Rubles - I was wobbling all over, into Yugoslavia, down to Tibet.....I felt like the United Nations!

Day 6 - Sweat/ab210 (I added 1 each, doesn't sound like much, but I feel it).....

Week 1 complete. I did much better form for the punches, but got lost during the 3rd round of jump/kicks. I was struggling with energy throughout the workout today, then realized I have eaten like crap today. I don't really know why, but I haven't been on my normal eating routine for the day and I really felt it during the workout. I will now continue to eat cleanly.....I will now continue to eat cleanly.....I will now continue to eat cleanly.....

Everyone - enjoy your rest day tomorrow and see you back on Monday, getting that sweat on!

Peace,

Glad to see this active MS thread! I'm on day 88 of P90 and I'm looking forward to taking the next step. MS is supposed to arrive here by next Tuesday, so I figure ill take a few days to recover and then hop back into it. Probably no later than 10/20. Y'all be ahead of me for sure, but that'll probably be a good thing. I can learn from the mistakes already made! ;-). See you guys in a little more than a week!

Day 8/9 done as well.......I'm getting more used to the moves and will try to get a little more 'intense' this week. I do have to modify a few things due to knee issues, so there are some things I need to work on to get the same type of workout in.

Scottishgigolo - welcome to our little group of Master Series participants. I've been following some of the threads you post in and you are doing a great job. I took about 1.5 weeks off between the programs and wish I kept it at about a week. Last week was pretty hard to get back into the grove of a daily workout. There are a few different 'calendars' floating around. You won't get one in your shipment. I'm following the 'standard'. There is also one called 'lean'. You can find them here for reference: http://www.teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/19558736
