Les Mills Combat & training gloves?
les mills les mills combat body combat
10/1/12 5:49 PM
so I am super excited about the new les mills body combat, because I have done the single combat video they had out earlier this year and both my husband and I loved it... but what I dont understand is WHY I want the training gloves. there is a 30 dollar price difference between the basic program and the one that comes with training gloves. Are they the same as weighted gloves? cause beachbody already has a pair available for 20 dollars... or do they have some other bonus? anyone know anything about this?

Here is a link that might help: it is from 2006, but it is about bodycombat(the program Les Mills Combat was formed from).

I only read a couple of posts and didn't see this, but they do have a little weight to them as well. As far as how much weight, I am not sure.

Hope this helps!

How do people know what size to order, S/M/L are the choices, but haven't seen any sort of sizing chart yet...

I have the same question. I've sent it to customer service and I'll post if they respond.

On the FB page, the Les Mills Combat moderator is suggesting ordering a size smaller than you would normally order.

No solid answer yet from Beachbody. The person who replied to my question referred to the program as Les Mills Pump Combat and then cited the Beachbody Fitness Gloves, so I had to ask again. We'll see what comes up.

I asked this question via twitter yesterday and today I got this reply, "The gloves serve several purposes. They help with form, they tone muscles in the arms."

I ordered Combat with the gloves, and found this tread when I searched what they were for, lol
I assumed they were weighted, but they are not.
As another poster mentioned, I ordered medium, and they are pretty big.

I think I will be asking to send them back, since I cannot see much used for them

I feel that the Turbofire gloves work better for me at least than the Combat, I haven't used mine but they're feather light and dont give any resistance, and my hands we're to small for the smallest size. If you're trying for intensity i would go with the TF gloves and then get heavier as needed.

The gloves are optional (they are not weighted), the main reason to get them is more of a metal thing for some people. They feel that with wearing the gloves/ hand wraps they punch harder and put more into the workout vs. not wearing gloves or hand wraps. the weight gloves that beachbody sells should be just as good plus you get the added benefit of them being weighted to help strengthen and tone faster. in my opinion anyways. I already had a pair of MMA training gloves I use those with Combat.

After starting the workout I'd like to get a pair but can't seem to find the training gloves sold separately. Beachbody fitness gloves are the only ones listed on this site. Anyone?

You should be able to buy some MMA gloves at a local sports store. The only purpose for them in the workout is to hold form with your moves, feel like a fighter etc.. they have no weight in them, just a pair of padded gloves.
