[GUIDE] Coach Den's Getting Through Insanity

DIG DEEPER & DEEPER

REST AND EAT RIGHT

A little bit about me first before I start giving out my tips and advises. My names Den. I turned 18 years old on August 15, 2012 so yes I barely became a coach a couple of weeks ago. I started Insanity and P90x January of 2012 and been on and off with the program due to laziness and the lack of motivation. Along my journey I was under a really good coach and he helped me push far to the point that I completed both workout programs before summer came. During my workouts I had struggles with time, school, nutrition and other personal matter. I signed up to help other people get through the struggles that you are facing.

---> NUTRITIONAL TIPS <---

Follow this simple nutrition steps that will help ensure your success while doing the workouts. Remember 25%-Workouts 50%-Nutrition 25%-Recovery. This means to see results you must eat right. With people that have trouble eating, lets say they don't know how much calories they should be eating or what there BMI is, when starting Insanity its best to know all your measurements. I normally help out all my clients. I help make food tables for them and give them a schedule for eating. Normally helps out my clients since I make everything simple for them to understand and follow.

* Avoid all the junk food. emoticon
- When I mean avoid all the junk food I mean avoid everything that is not good or healthy. No Fastfoods. Don't cheat yourself when your working out. You know how delicious a krispy kreme donut sound or 20pc Chicken Nuggets from McDonald's sounds right after workout. AVOID IT!! If you want to see changes you must eat right.

* Drink a lot of water. emoticon
- Going into the workouts you need to be hyrdrated not dehydrated. What I use to do was carry a huge bottle of water around the house with me everyday just so I don't have an excuse to not drink water. I would require more than 8 cups of water a day. It will help a lot of you drink a lot of water.

* Eat your veggies and fruits. emoticon
- Yes Eat all your vegetables and fruits. I normally have fruits during my snacks and vegetables during lunch and dinner. Eat a lot of greens. This will help fuel your body and replenish your energy.

* Drink your Shakeology and Recovery Formula. emoticon
- I normally drink my shakeology within an hour of my workout. I don't drink any recovery formula's yet but I recommend that if you have any recovery formula's the P90x recovery formula that you drink it after your workouts.

---> WORKOUT TIPS <---

Below are some good workout tips you can follow while doing Insanity. When I first started working out, I didn't know what I was doing wrong. I did a lot of the stuff wrong and their went my results. For instance, during my workouts I would always sit for like 1 minute or 2 while taking a break and not even moving. Bad idea. Normally ended up taking long breaks that I wouldn't finish the workout for the day.

* Go at your own pace. emoticon
- Don't try to do something that you can't do YET. When doing Insanity it's best if you go at your pace. Take short breaks when needed and drink water when needed. Press pause, Shaun T won't leave you if you press pause. If its too much take a break. I take 30-45 second breaks then press play again. This will help you finish the workouts. DO NOT STOP and GIVE UP. Keep going and press play.

* Do the Warm-Ups and Stretch. (Beginning and End) emoticon
- People sometimes when they don't have time to do the whole workout they skip the warm-ups and stretch and go straight to the workouts. Bad idea, you don't want to do workouts without getting your muscles warmed up. NEVER skip the warm-ups and stretches. They can help you get through the workouts as well. You will become less vulnerable to injuries if you do the warm-ups and stretches before and the stretches after the workouts.

* Press play. emoticon
- Everyday we might be too tired, or we had a fun night last night and now we are tired. Barely can get off the bed haha. Everyday you must press play. Don't do workouts consistently for 2 weeks then take a 1 month vacation from Insanity and come back 1 month later thinking you can do what you did before. It will be really difficult for you to see results if you keep doing that. Everyday you must do it. Push yourself.

* Be consistent and try your best. emoticon
- You must be consistent with everything. Don't let your ego and mind get in the way when you workout. If you know you can do better than that then go. Try as hard as you can. Push yourself to see what your made of. Everyday push play and you will see the results. Sacrifice now and reap the rewards after.

* Wear the right shoes.emoticon
- I recommend everyone that is doing any Beachbody workout programs to workout with shoes. I normally use running shoes and do it on a tile floor. It's not the best floor to do it on, it hurt my feet for a while because I was doing it barefoot. I use my Nike running shoes which where about $80 and they have helped reduce the pain in feet alot. I recommend using the jumping mat beachbody is selling because it will be less friction to your foot when landing on the mat.

* Recover and rest. emoticon
- You must recover to progress through the workouts each day. I recommend getting a lot of sleep and drinking your recovery formula. You must rest. You will be fatigued if you workout and not take time to recover and rest. You want to see results but if you are to the point where your not resting and recovering then that is not good. Insanity has a day off and Recovery day. Use that to your advantage. On recovery days do the recovery workout and just relax the rest of the day. On the rest day just REST. Your muscles will recover while your resting so its good to have a recovery drink and drink it.

---> MOTIVATION <---

One key thing to get through workouts is to have motivation. Motivation is everywhere. Friends, families and challenge groups. Motivation is one of the key elements when trying to change into something better. Without motivation the journey will be difficult especially if you don't set your goals and priorities right. There's a lot of motivation out there today. Find the time on your day off to look through them and you'll be surprised at what it can do to you. I suggest everyone to checkout this Motivation page on facebook. Facebook Motivation Page. Its a good source for motivation and its the Morning Paper for everyone on my team.

* Challenge Groups emoticon
- Challenge groups are a great way for a source of motivation. Your coaches will be there always to support you and help you with anything you need help with. You get to interact and socialize with everyone that is a part of the group and you will also be able to relate to people's experiences. Challenge groups have been successful in the past. Everyone keeps each other accountable and gives one another a hand.

* WHY!! emoticon
- Ask yourself this question. Why am I doing this? Is this for a good thing or bad thing? Knowing what your why's are will help you. This makes your goals become easier to reach and helps keep you accountable for what your doing. Remember the WHY and keep it in your head while working out. Your mind is powerful and it can help you when you think hard about a lot of things. So always ask yourself WHY and write it down. I normally write my WHY on a piece of paper in BLACK Permanent marker and stick it behind my door, so when I wake up in the morning to open my door WHY is in front of me.

* Goals and Priorities emoticon
- I normally ask my clients, what are your goals or what are you hoping to achieve by doing this? When asking people this, it gives them time to think about the goals that they have in mind. Everyone normally says they want to live a healthier lifestyle. My goal when I did Insanity was to be help end obesity and be an Inspiration to everyone around me. So right under my WHY paper their is my main goal and my long term goal. When you have your goals in front of you, you will know how to start prioritizing what you need to do. When you make the priorities a first choice it will be easier for you to keep going and reaching your goals. So remember WRITE DOWN YOUR WHY and GOALS then PRIORITIZE. 2 steps that won't take too long.

----------> THE END <----------

Took me a while to write down the guide. I'm always happy to be able to help anyone out. Coaches, if you need some of the information from this guide please feel free to use any of it. This will make it easier for people if you are having a hard time helping people from your challenge group. A lot of you might say, this is simple anyone can do this. Yeah, but its the simple things that everyone forgets the most. I made it short and sweet so that less reading will be required since I know everyone would prefer to workout then read right? Haha emoticon!! So guys I do have a challenge group and I am taking people in. I will help everyone out best I can with the knowledge and time I have.

I am on Facebook most of the time so if your interested in joining my challenge group or becoming a coach then add me and message me with "BBC Challenge Group" or "BBC Coach" and I will happily accept the Friend Request and get everything started.

Not burning 500 calories a day with Insanity...
10/28/12 10:11 AM as a reply to DenBugtai.
Hello!
I started Insanity a week ago and I know that Rome wasn't build in a day but I think the calorie counter on my Heart Rate monitor (which is not from a well known brand) is not agreeing with me.
According to the HRM, the most I've burn in one session of insanity (let's say Plyometric Cardio Circuit) is 256 calories! no way!
Since other people have told me they burn at least 500!

What to do when I am not burning the daily calories that I should be burning?

The insanity "math" according to the stats , I should be eating 1673 calories..
anyway, my question is, should I be eating less, just to be in the safe side?
Or should I write to Santa for a better HRM?

Thanks

Isa

I think that you should write Santa a new HRM too.
I do suggest that you around 1600 calories and burn off the
500 during the workouts so you should be safe.
