Moms struggling to stay on track...We CAN do this

I feel like I am on a rollercoaster.... I made the decision back in April that I was going to get healthy, get in shape, get fit, get confident, etc.... well life has a tendency to throw you for a loop. I would do really good for a while. Eating healthy, working out everyday.... then something comes along and BAM.... My healthy eating-down the drain, and then I stop working out. Then I want to give up. But everyday, I look at my 2-year-old daughter and can't imagine not being able to keep up with her or be there for her. A year ago I was told that I am pre-diabetic. Something I desperately want to reverse....along with all the weight that I've gained since I had her. I have been seriously struggling to stay on track. Stress tend to push me over the edge... and considering how stressful things have been for me lately, I don't know how I keep my head on. But I know this can be done, stress or no stress. (who ISNT stressed anyway)

I need an accountability group. Any moms, or anyone in general, that want to commit to a healthy lifestyle and keep each other on track everyday? I feel like having a group of people to talk to, vent to, to share successes or hard times with, will keep us motivated. And here we have a place where we can come and post our accountability, find motivation and support, we can share recipes, whatever.

I want to improve my health and my fitness and I know everyone here does too. We can do this together!

Today... i did end up skipping breakfast and I really wish I hadn't. At work right now, about to head to lunch. Going out to eat with a co-worker for lunch makes things a bit difficult but I will make good decisions as far as what I eat. Eager to get off work so I can get my exercise in for the day. May even go for a walk this evening. Today will be a good day emoticon

Didnt take my walk yesterday. It looks really nice outside right now so maybe when I get off work I will take one. Breakfast this morning...spinach, a banana, about 10 almonds, orange juice, and a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Lunch, a salad with grilled chicken strips, spinach, mushrooms, lettuce, carrots, cauliflower, and a little cheese. My sister made this salad for me and added bacon bits and ranch (which I could have done without) but hey beggars can't be choosers and I would rather have this than no lunch at all.... don't get off work until 6 so I still have some hours before I can go home. Cant wait to feel that burn this evening!!!

Hi! Can I join in? I've been having some trouble staying on track lately too. I got sick 3 1/2 weeks ago and it really threw me. I was so tired and didn't feel good. And then it turned into a sinus infection. I feel like all I've done for the past 4 weeks is slip. slip, slip. I know I have to get motivated to start really working out again. And this looks like a great place to do that!
Count me in! emoticon

Tough Mommy- You are most definitely welcome to join us!!

My weekend was awesome. Spent some time with a friend out of town. Made great food choices however no workout. Did a lot- and I mean A LOT- of walking over the weekend. Today was quite a day at work and I am in pain. If I could guess anything its sciatic problems. Have a massage scheduled for tomorrow and got an adjustment today (perks of working for a chiropractor!! yay!) Hoping to have some pain relief. Gonna take today and rest but back at it tomorrow!!! hope you ladies are doing good and pushing play! emoticon

Moniqueelise- I sent u a buddy request. Glad you are feeling better and getting back on track! It may be the oldest excuse but it can put us out of commission so quickly. It sucks!!! And it takes a lot to get started again (at least for me).... But we got this. We are all capable to changing our bodies and our lives! Lets do it!!

Moniqueelise- Shakeology is AMAZING! its not the greatest thing in the world plain, but you can add different fruits and stuff in it and it tastes great. I am the worst about eating breakfast so Shakeology is a quick easy way to get all kinds of healthy stuff in your system to start your day... plus its great if you are like me (a junk food junkie) and need something sweet! Definitely a good way to go.

I would like to join this group. I have probably restarted turbofire 4 times since I started this attempt at weight loss in June. I do really well on days that I work but as soon as my days off arrive I slack off. How do you all find motivation when family is around?

Hey rosebug82-- I would love for you to join this group!!! It is hard to keep motivated on your days off... we wanna spend time with our families and friends. What I try to do is (even though it kinda sux) get up early and work out before everyone one else. Do it before you even have time to think about it. Set an alarm and put it far enough that you have to get up and turn it off...Then the hard part (the actual getting up) is over. Just get up, push play and before you know it, you are finished with your workout and ready to start your day. You will be in a good mood from all the endorphins but you will feel accomplished because you have already knocked that workout out of the park.... or if morning isnt your thing. Get your workout in before bed. I have a two year old daughter and she makes it virtually impossible to get a workout in during the hours she is awake and since I am at work all day, i cant really do it during her nap time. So early mornings or before bed works best for meemoticon
Glad to have you with us!!

Oh yeah and do all of you ladies have Facebook? I'd like to create a secret group on there. TBB doesnt work too well from my phone apparently and it would be easier for all of us to check in with each other that way.... What do you ladies think?

I would love a Facebook page, I do all my Internet usage from my phone and the beachbody website is not the easiest to maneuver.
Thank you fiercelyme for your tips! I do workout first thing in the morning, as soon as I get the kids on the bus. Those days off kill me though. Even if I get my workout in I have to manage not eating crummy.
Way to go getting 2 workouts in ToughMommy! I love my TF workouts, Chalene is great isn't she?

How do you join....I think it's an excellent idea. It's hard being a mom and we tend to let things side track us. I have been experiencing this for years, lose weight/gain weight only to feel bad about myself later. We definately have to be more conscious of the time we give ourselves to get fit. We can't take care of others if we don't care for ourselves first.
