Who: Anybody looking to make a change or stay accountable

When: That's the beauty of this group! YOU pick your date to start. The goal here is for everyone to start around the same time (towards the end of 2012/beginning of 2013!)

How: Choose a Beachbody program and stay with us!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tyler Robbins. I am a new Beachbody Coach from Ontario Canada. I have been waiting for this opportunity for quite some time now. I am CSCS certified, and am currently training for the World's Toughest Mudder which I will be competing in on November 17/18th 2012.

My goal is to start Body Beast towards the end of December. The reason why I am starting this Challenge Group so soon is so that those interested can get ready, prepared, and PUMPED to get going. Use the next few months to get prepared by choosing and ordering a program, getting the required equipment, and planning your diet in preparation for the best way to kick off the new year on the right foot!

I will be posting more information on this group as time passes and we get closer to a start date.

For now, join us and get ready for a new you!

Here is my plan:

My wife and I are currently scheduled to move in to our new house on Thursday December 13th. My basement will be my workout room, which will be very basic to start, but will serve its purpose.

I am aiming to start Body Beast on Saturday December 15th.

My goal with Body Beast is to gain 5-10 pounds of muscle in the 90 days. I have been doing a lot of endurance training through 2012, so it will be nice to start focusing on hypertrophy training again and hitting the weights.

What are your goals?

I saw your video on youtube and was impresed especially with your tough mudder training. How else are you willing to 'coach'. I have stubborn 30 pounds that refuse to budge. I just purchased Tosca Reno's eat clean recharged and am hoping it will help. I have been doing Body Beast for a while now however can move the challenge to start in the new year and in the meantime work with les mills pump.

My goal is definitely weight loss.

Good Morning

World's Toughest Mudder Training W5D1 - 12km Run.

Well, I kicked off my final 3-week WTM training this morning with a 12km run. I have exactly 4 weeks left to prepare. That will be 3 weeks of training and then 1 week of recovery before the big event! Crunch time!

It was a cold morning, so the knees ended up getting a little bit sore towards the end, but nothing too worrisome at all. I will hopefully get some time later today to do some stretching and foam rolling.

My wife, son, and I are heading to check out the progress on our new house today, and then heading to pick out a pumpkin or two from a farm near our new house. Hopefully the rain holds off! Everyone have a great day!

Good Afternoon

World's Toughest Mudder Training Week 5 Day 2 - Chest, Back & Balance and X2 Ab Ripper. Hockey this evening.

I had a great workout this morning! I really impressed myself with my numbers for Chest, Back and Balance. I was able to either match or exceed from last time I did this routine back in June! I am glad to see my strength is staying fairly consistent, especially since I have been doing a lot of running lately.

X2 Ab Ripper was a bit of a struggle. I was pretty toast by the end of Chest, Back and Balance, so I really had to fight for good form and full reps. 2nd week of winter hockey league goes tonight!

Out for now, going to go consume some healthy calories in prep for hockey tonight. Everyone have a great rest of your Sunday!

Good Morning

Well, I am forced to take a recovery day today since I did SOMETHING to my back yesterday. It is quite tight/sore today. This is just so frustrating to me, as sometimes its most simplest things that can cause some pretty major back spasms. Obviously, for those who know me at least somewhat, know that I have quite a long history with back problems...can be pretty damn depressing and frustrating.

What makes this even more frustrating for me right now is the fact that I am less than 4 weeks from World's Toughest Mudder and I NEED to train, but simply cannot today. I am hoping to ice/heat/stretch/foam roll my back today to get it back to feeling somewhat normal again (hopefully) for tomorrow so that I can go for a run. Here's to hoping I am better by tomorrow!

Everyone have a great Monday.

Good Afternoon

World's Toughest Mudder Training - 14km Run

I just got back from my run, which was great!

I iced/heated/stretched the crap out of my back yesterday (with some help from Mrs. Ibuprofen) and loosened my back up real nice. Woke up this morning feeling MUCH better...not 100%, but pretty damn close!

It felt great to get into a good rhythm on my run. As those distance runners out there know, when you really get into a 'zone', you feel like you could run for hours and hours!

I changed my workout schedule for the last few weeks. It just sort of shakes things up a bit to allow my body more time to recover after my long runs so that my back doesn't implode. Not a MAJOR overhaul, but a change none-the-less. I will follow a Run-Upper Body Strength Workout-Recovery/Yoga Day, then repeat that 3-day cycle. The upper body strength workouts will alternate between Chest, Back and Balance and Shoulders & Arms.

Everyone have a great Tuesday!

january ultmte rest
10/24/12 9:38 AM as a reply to TRobbinsFitness.
hello everyone,

My name is Brenda and I am one of the Coaches in Tyler's Team Fitness for Life. I am going to embark on an Ultimate Reset Challenge in January. I would love some company and support along this 21 day journey! Anyone up for a new year Reset?

I have been investigating the Ultimate Reset program for months, and after alot of research, I believe that there are some really good things about this program. For one, I am very excited about the products that help bring your body pH to healthy (less acidic) levels. From my research, an acidic body may make you more vulnerable to illness (colds, viruses, cancer, etc) and may be one contributing factor of joint inflamation/pain. Also, many of the "unhealthy bugs" that live in our bodies (e.g., yeast) thrive in acidic conditions... this can impact overall health and digestion/bloating.

So, I am putting it out there that I am willing to make the 21 day effort of sticking to the program (no coffee or wine!!)... which may proove to take more will power than committing to a fitness program.

I will report on my progress and experiences via pictures, blog posts and videos.

Hope some of you want to join me! Contact me if your are intersted, either the message board or email (BMerritt.Fitness@gmail.com) !

Keep pushin' play ya'll!
Brenda

Good Evening

Finished up with good ol' P90X Shoulders and Arms a little while ago, followed by 20/12 abs from the 1on1 Volume 2. I actually haven't done Shoulders & Arms in quite some time, so it was nice to get back to an old friend! I felt quite good throughout the workout, and was able to move some pretty good weight despite only running on about 6 hours of sleep. I didn't go ALL out, because I didn't want to crank my back after injuring it earlier this week, but I still pushed pretty good and had some respectable numbers!

Everyone have a great Wednesday evening!

Hi everyone,

I know you all know my husband Tyler and thanks to his support and encouragement I'll be joining the 2013 fitness challenge group in preparation for a Tough Mudder race coming up May 2013.

A week tomorrow (Nov 1) I will be defending my PhD which means I've decided to start my personal fitness challenge on Nov 2. I'll be starting off with a P90X/Insanity hybrid to try and build up a good cardio and strength base. I did a very similar workout schedule after the birth of my son last Dec and am extremely excited to start round 2 (hence the earlier start date). You probably won't hear from me much until then but I look forward to sharing my progress with you!

If anyone else is anxious to get started a little earlier any and all extra motivation and support is always a good thing.

Until next week,

Nicole

Good Afternoon

Recovery day yesterday. Had a 12km run this morning. Run went quite well. I felt a bit sluggish, but got it done none-the-less. World's Toughest Mudder is 3 weeks tomorrow....crazy!

I will have Chest, Back & Balance and X2 Ab Ripper in the morning.

Everyone have a great Friday!

Good Morning

World's Toughest Mudder Training - Chest, Back & Balance

I did this routine last Sunday and I believe that is when I first sort of tweaked my back, so today, towards the end, I felt the right side of my lower back getting a bit fatigued so I backed off and skipped X2 Ab Ripper. I finished C,B&B, but just skipped X2 Ab Ripper. I find I get a LOT of bonus core work with all of that balance stuff in C,B&B anyways, so I am not too concerned about missing out on Ab Ripper.

I will have an off morning tomorrow and then hockey tomorrow night.

Everyone have a great Saturday!

Hey Everyone

Haven't posted in a few days. Here's a quick recap of what I have been up to the last few days.

Sunday morning I rested. Sunday night I had hockey. Monday I had a long run scheduled by hurricane Sandy sort of put a damper on those plans (literally). Instead, I went for a 10km run today (just a few hours ago). Tomorrow will be Shoulders & Arms from P90X along with some core work.

I had an extra day to work with anyways as I need to take Thursday off. My wife has her final PhD defence on Thursday!

Out for now, everyone have a great night.

Hey Everyone

World's Toughest Mudder Training - P90X Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X tacked on for good measure.

I am finding that with all of my distance running, it is hard to maintain, let alone gain any strength in the upper body. I was able to at least match all of my reps and weights from last week, and went up slightly in some sets, but it is tough when you are training different energy systems in the body like this. Felt pretty good though and got a great pump.

For my core work, I decided to do Ab Ripper X. I haven't done this sucker in a while and although I was able to get all reps throughout, it was a struggle at times....especially those damn Fifer Scissors. I usually don't have a problem with that move anymore, but where it is placed in Ab Ripper X after the other hip-flexor burners (bicycles, crunchy frog, in-outs, etc) it makes it that much tougher!

Tomorrow is a recovery day for me. I have to brag and gloat a bit here. My wife has her final PhD defence, so my son and I are making the trip down to Toronto to celebrate with her. She is finishing her PhD in Molecular Genetics (I know, she's a genius!). Back at it Friday with a long run (probably 16km or so). Everyone have a great Wednesday/Thursday.

Hey Everyone

World's Toughest Mudder Training 16km run.

It was a cold one here today, hovering right around freezing. It has also been lightly snowing here and there. This was definitely one of those 'mental battle' type runs, where right after I started I felt like giving up, but just kept plugging away and felt great that I finished. The legs are a bit tight/sore now, so I will hopefully get the fireplace going this evening and have a date with my foam roller (bring on the jokes!)

Out for now. Chest, Back & Balance in the morning! Everyone have a great Friday!
