Hi guys

Monday just feels like the right day to start a program like Insanity especially cause my workout sheet that came with the program starts on a Monday. I think this is gonna be my third round of Insanity but its my first time in 2012 and first time since moving to California back in January. After moving across the country on my own it took me a little while to get settled in but now I'm ready to get back into the swing of things, which means digging deeeeeeeeep.

If anybody else started on the 8th feel free to chime in and share your experiences, nutrition tips, photos, recipes, whatever.

Day four now and I am destroyed. I don't remember it being this hard? I jogged about 7 miles last weekend so that may be why my body has turned on me. I also did the fit test and took a Bodypump class at the gym on Monday. Holy cow though my glutes are in PAIN! Also my calves and lower back. A lot of stiffness and burning. Despite not really working out this year I've stayed in decent shape so I thought another round of Insanity would be a breeze. PSYCHE!

Congrats on taking on the challenge of Insanity!! Good results on your first Fit Test. I just wanted to reach out to let you know that I have a support thread going for those doing Insanity. So I did Pure Cardio yesterday and almost puked. I do Insanity in the aerobics room of my local gym when there isn't a class going on. I practically had to crawl from that room to the mens locker room where I took all my clothes off and just sat there and breathed heavy for like 20 minutes.

I don't remember my glutes hurting like this last time I did Insanity. I don't think I was doing it right before and now that I'm getting lower in my drills its paying off?

Or it could just be because I did Body Pump like 4 times last week. After my body gets a little more used to Insanity I'm going to start doing Insanity and Body Pump at the same time. 2 a days until December cause I'm going to Miami Beach for 3 weeks and the name of this website is BEACHBODY.COM

Sunday was a day off, I spent it visiting my grandparents and watching sports all day with them. I probably ate an entire bag of tortilla chips, along with pretzels filled with peanut butter, almonds, root beer, and I even had some apple pie with vanilla ice cream!

My typical diet is below 2000 calories a day though. I don't feel that bad just eating everything and anything 1 day out of a month. Its Monday now and that means back on the grind.

Thursday I woke up early and ran 5K and did Cardio Recovery in the evening. Felt good about it and might start to double up work outs.

I started on the same day as you did and I'm glad I found your post.
Today was my second fit test and I am really psyched cause the Insanity really works.

Here are my results:

Switch Kicks 58 | 104

Just like in your case I almost puked on the first and second day.
I couldn't actually walk. I crawled to the bathroom, turned the shower on and lied in the bathtub for like 15 minutes. I thought I was in a decent form - I did a month of Hip Hop Abs Extreme + Tae Bo for a month before starting The Insanity. Well, I was wrong.

The first week was like going through hell but I started getting used to it and by day 6 I stopped feeling so exhausted and wasted after the workout.
I think the one that I still dread the most is the Plyo Circuit - jumping is not my forte.


Anyway, I see that aside from the Insanity you also run.
I miss swimming laps but I just can't imagine finding time in the day to squeeze another 60 minutes for the workout.
Also it seems like it would be too much to handle.
Have you tried to double your workouts yet? If so, how is that affecting you?

Again, glad to find someone here who started on the same day.

I actually puked on Friday, first time thats happened in awhile. Full disclosure though, I drink pre-workout NO Xplode from BSN before Insanity so that might of had something to do with it.

I went out later that night and danced at a rave party for like 5 hours straight and got home after 5AM Saturday morning. Needless to say I skipped my workout Saturday and did it on Sunday instead. Pure Cardio and Abs. There was no way I was getting it done after all that dancing. My feet and calves were cramped like never before. I really pushed myself! Back on schedule now though, I did Insanity tonight (Monday) and also jogged the treadmill for 2 mi

I skipped out on Cardio Abs last time after getting killed in Pure Cardio so on Recovery day I ran 5K then did Cardio Abs and then Cardio Recovery. Was a good mix, I'm not advocating changing the fine system Shawn T has blessed us with but if you skip out on day for whatever reason theres ways to make up for it later. You just got to always hold yourself accountable for.

Nothing really eventful this week. I did gain around 3lbs the first few weeks of the program. I started eating around 500 more calories per day after I started Insanity to compensate so thats probably why I initially put on the extra pounds. I did notice this week that I'm back down to the same weight as I started (153)

Either way I'm feeing great and it looks like I'm toning up a lot more. Just by looking in the mirror you can tell, although I haven't taken any measurements. I'll take a mid point picture after next week and compare it with my before pic.

Yesterday I did the Cardio Circuit video at the gym and right after I stayed around for the Body Pump class. So back to back workouts, I was great. I loved it. I didn't plan on it but I just happened to be there at the right time and decided to give it shot. I've done 2 work outs a day before but not back to back. I gotta say it was a lot of fun.

I jogged 3.5 miles and then I did Cardio Recovery. Good combo, I'm getting used to these "two a days" and I will post my results on here next week.

Finally recovery week!

Yesterday I did Body Pump with the class at the gym and then I went to grab a muscle milk at CVS, finished it and came back to the gym to do Insanity Core Cardio and Balance. Good combo.

This morning I ran 5K and now I'm gonna do CCB pretty soon.

Month 2 now and it's considerably harder so far. I want to keep up with my jogging and Body Pump classes but the combination of harder Insanity workouts and being busy at home is making it hard. So far just keeping up with Insanity barely.
