ARE YOU READY TO TRANSFORM YOUR BODY & CHANGE YOUR LIFE?

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A 60 DAY CHALLENGE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU FITTER, FIRMER, AND FASTER?

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A GREAT GROUP &
SUPPORTIVE COACH WHO WILL BE THERE WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY?

IF THE ANSWER IS “YES”, THEN YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!!

Hi Everyone!

I’m Coach Zarno (my first name is Jody) and I am very excited to be hosting an Insanity (and general workout) thread!

And if you are working on a different program but just want a great place to hang out, we'd still love to have you!

So, a bit about me! I have been a long time “lover” of Beachbody workouts as they have helped me get my body back after gaining a bunch of post-kid weight. I have been a long time runner and weight lifter, and have also worked at The Running Room—a major running store in Canada. Because I have struggled with my weight since I was a kid, it has become my passion to help others get lean and healthy in a safe and effective way. I’d love it if you added me as a buddy and joined this thread so we can achieve our health and fitness goals together!

Plus there is an ADDED BONUS!!! Everyone who stays committed will be entered to win a FREE copy of REV AB'S!! How sweet is that!!

And to close, I'd like to leave you with a little video where I share my thoughts about the whole world of....INSANITY!! Enjoy!!

Are you ready to rock & roll and get in the best shape of your life? If "yes", add me as a buddy and reply to this thread and we'll make great things happen!

Success to you all!

Zarno's Tips for Success!

There are a few tricks of the trade that can really help get you on your way to success, and help you avoid injury and frustration. Here are a few!

~ If you want to succeed on this journey, it is imperative to develop and maintain a good diet. It will ensure that you have the appropriate nutrition to fuel your body so you feel good and can maximize your efforts during your workouts. Take the time to develop a good nutrition game plan that is suited to your daily life and caloric needs.

~ A good fitness tool to track your daily meals is www.myfitnesspal.com. It acts like a mini-facebook and allows you to track your meals/calories/exercise so you plan healthy meals that will keep you feeling satisfied and help you reach your goals.

~ If you are looking for good healthy meal ideas, check out Clean Eating Recharged by Tosca Reno and any of her cookbooks. She is a well known clean eating guru, and her cookbooks are jam-packed full of healthy recipes that will satisfy your taste buds.

~ If is also important to incorporate a good protein supplement/shake into your diet, as your muscles will need a good quality protein source to recover from these tough workouts. Shakeology is a wonderful way to incorporate a good quality protein supplement /meal replacement into your daily regime as well as give your body all of the added nutritional benefits as well.

~ Take a few minutes and sit down to plan your long term and short term goals. What exactly do you want to achieve in the next 90 days? Do you want to lose weight? Fit into that little black dress? Run a 5k without huffing and wheezing? Write these goals down and place them somewhere where you can see them each day. Make a commitment to yourself to put the work in to get the job done. Find a picture that illustrates what success looks like, and focus on that when you are working out.

~ Take before and after pictures, take your measurements and take the fit test. Sure the scale may move, but the BEST way to measure your progress is to watch your body as it changes into a leaner, stronger, and more toned version of yourself. If you put the work in, your body will change—and seeing the before and after transformation can be really quite amazing.

~ Click here to download a copy of the fit test sheet.

~ As well, be sure to track your progress using the Insanity Calendar. You will be surprised at how quickly those 60 days will fly by! Click here to download your copy of the calendar. Also, be sure to check out the bottom of the workout calendar where there are some ideas regarding how to incorporate the deluxe DVD’s into your workout program.

~ Okay, these workouts are tough!!! Be sure to make sure your body is fueled up, hydrated and ready to go before you press PLAY. Make sure that you are drinking between 8 to 10 glasses of water each day-as being hydrated can mean the difference between feeling good during a workout or feeling downright sluggish.

~ As far as eating before workouts goes, everyone is different. Some people prefer to do their workouts immediately after they eat, but some need to wait a good hour before they workout. If you work out early in the morning, you may want to have a little bite to eat beforehand, but this is a personal decision and will depend on your own body and blood sugar levels.

~ It is very important to make sure that you give your body a good source of protein and a recovery drink immediately after you’re done your workout to ensure that your muscles can fully recover the stress. This will really help with the soreness that can follow a tough workout. As well, your body will burn off the glycogen stores in your muscles during your workout, so taking in a good recovery drink after you are finished will replenish your glycogen levels, as well as help stabilize your blood sugars to ensure that you feel good, and revitalized for the rest of the day. The Beachbody Recovery drink and Shakeology are two excellent ways to give your tired muscles and body the fuel and nutrition it needs to recover from the workout and prepare for the next day.

~ Accountability: The best way to succeed is to work with a group of people, and that is exactly why we’re here!! I am committed to supporting you as you dig deep and achieve your goals—so post EVERY DAY! The message boards are full of people who are in the same boat, doing the same things, and facing the same challenges. Let’s get fitter and firmer together! Tell us what workout you’ve done, how it went, and anything else you want to share. Being accountable to the group will keep you motivated as you go on this journey, and also provide a place to come with questions and concerns. What a better way to get fit than with a group of online friends!

~ Be sure to add me as a buddy and post your commitment to join the team, and we’ll rock and roll! I will send you some more information and be there with you as you transform your body and change your life!

Excited yet? I sure am!! Yes this may be tough, and yes there will be times when you want to quit, but NEVER GIVE UP!! Make a commitment to yourself to see this thing through, and you will come out a leaner, fitter, healthier and stronger version of yourself. Your body will thank you.

And as Dale Carnegie said, the person who goes farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare.

Dare, my friends, Dare.

Wish me luck!

Hey CoachZarno:

While I am not doing straight Insanity this round, I just started a hybrid of P90X2 and Insanity, I can always use encouragement and accountability, so if don't mind I think I will hang out here for my duration of this round.

Hi guys,

Well today I got up and did the fit test. Ok, it was a lot harder than I expected it to be! I knew it was going to be somewhat difficult because I haven't been able to commit to a regular workout program for a long time, but the jumping was tough.

And I have to admit, getting up an hour early was tough too. It's really the only time of day when I can get a workout in though, because life gets really busy for the rest of the day. I'm hoping I can get used to all this stuff, because my body sure needs it. I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Have a good day,

Dean

Hi everyone!

My name is Cheryl, and I just found this thread, which is great because I'm just getting to start my round of Insanity. I am a hockey player so I am looking for something to get me in shape for the season. I love the fact that a lot of the workouts are so short, but intense as I run my own business from home and have a busy life, so this is perfect!

I did the fit test the other day so I'll be getting started today with the Plyo Cardio Circuit workout. I know I will have to take it easy on my knees as I don't want to get injured before my game on the weekend!

Talk to you soon everyone!

Cheryl

Hi Everyone,

So, I did my first Insanity workout this morning (Plyo Cardio Circuit). It was definitely intense. But, to make things worse, the bottom of my feet were killing me! Has this happened to anyone else? I guess I need to get better shoes (although I though my Nikes were pretty good). Any suggestions? Looking forward taking this journey with all of you!
