Lots to lose....so little time!
Like so many out there, I am a girl on the go, and keep a very hectic schedule! Well, this girl on the go has approximately 145 pounds to lose, and not a whole lot of time during my day to squeeze in that workout that is DESPERATELY needed. For the most part, my schedule involves getting up at 7AM to go to job number one, heading straight from there to job number two, then getting home and doing some school work before getting to bed between midnight and 1AM. If I was able to do most of my school work at my second job (which I try to do, anyway), would I be able to do my workout after working that job, and still be able to get to bed at a decent hour? Or, should I figure out some way to be able to get up around 6AM on the days that I am working both jobs and do my workouts when I first get up? If I work in the mornings on those days, and then in the early evening on days that I'm only working my one job; will that throw off my routine where it would have a significant effect on the results I could get? I know it is a lot of questions, but I am trying to figure out what sort of workout routine I need to get in, and still be able to function every day without that sluggish feeling.

Good Morning

First I'd like to say WELCOME to Team Beachbody. You will find that we all have your best interest at heart in helping you with your journey.

Yep! You have a crazy schedule, but you have come to the right place as many of us are in your same situation. Here's the thing....you need to choose to make working out a priority for "you". When you make the priority, it becomes habit and it will make you feel that much better. Next, you are wondering if 6 a.m. or another time within your schedule would be best? Well, if you workout at 6 a.m. one day, but workout in the afternoon another day....No, it won't throw off your routine. It's just what fits your schedule. One thing to keep in the back of your mind as you start this journey, is the excuses. We all have them and it's best to recognize what your's are. Too tired, too late, too early....etc When you start feeling better internally, you'll be more productive externally (yes, that means school work too). You'll notice you become more focused because you're on a schedule. That said.....like Chalene Johnson says, you need to workout when it fits your schedule. Make the decision and stick with it! emoticon

You also discussed wanting to lose 145 lbs. You can excercise all you want, but you can't out exercise a bad diet. If you'd like help with that and not expose your personal info on the threads, message me and I'll help you with a plan to get started.

I'm here to help everyone achieve their goals. Best regards and hope to hear from you soon.

Stephanie

Hi!! Love your screen name! Phantom fan? Wow- kudos for you for doing all that. Scheduling is going to be essential for you! Do you have a calendar? Do you have a program in mind? I workout in the morning and it help to get it done before work. You can fit them in when they work for you- I would just make sure to enough rest time between workouts. Just starting to get moving now and tracking your nutrition will keep you moving forward. Think small goals and they will help you achieve your longterm goal. Consistency is key.

I have done most of the BB programs and the ones that fit best with limited time are ten minute trainer, pump, Power 90 and turbojam. These are beginner to intermediate programs. There is also slim in 6 and hip hop abs. It really depends on YOUR goals and what Intestest YOU! Having an idea of what you like to do, cardio, weight etc will help us all help you!

Always here to help!

Actually, I am a huge Phantom fan! One of my goal rewards is to get a tattoo of the mask and rose on my right ankle.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated! My schedule is INSANE, but I figured I'd better work my tail off now, so I don't have to work so hard later in life. I do have a dry erase calendar, but if I needed a paper one, I'm not against running to the dollar store for one in order to get me on track! I'm going to be starting my first round of P90 tonight, because I'm hoping to be able to kick start next week with at least a general knowledge of the moves.

My ultimate fitness goal is to trim AND tone at the same time, so that once my goal is reached, it would just be maintaining that weight. So, I'm guessing it would be a mixture of cardio and strength training. I also need to add in a bit more weight training into my routine, because an early 2011 car accident has my left side significantly weaker than my right (broken pelvis in three places on the left side...it was a fun six months of recovery, let me tell you). Once I'm in better shape (and possibly once I'm finished with round 1 of P90, I haven't decided when to throw other workouts into the mix), I would like to do Zumba. I attended one class and fell in love, and even completed the entire class...but it kicked my rear to the point where I know I have to at least get in slightly better shape.
