Here are a few tips to get you going:

Nutrition
• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

• Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals! Dream Big!!
• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:
• Take your measurements now and again on day 30, day 60 and day 90
• Take your before & after pictures now and again on day 30, day 60 and day 90
• Take the fit test
I can’t tell you how many people have said they were so mad at themselves for not doing these 3 things before they started!!

Utilize the tools that TBB provides
Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.

Pre-Workout
• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body “Bring It!” with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon prior to your workout and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!
• Regardless of when you workout, you want to be fueled. Here is what I do: take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink about 1/3 of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

Post Workout
Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-Beachbody workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.
• Recovery: After an intense P90X, P90X2, or Insanity workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The P90X Results and Recovery will replenish your muscles with glycogen, so you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The P90X Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it!

Accountability
Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve participated in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 60 or 90 day program! But what I found is, those that post every day are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives. I want you to stay accountable and most importantly, MOTIVATED!!
The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps you stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

Working out has allways been a problem for me because eventuatle the brain kicks in and starts to say why in the hell are you doing this to yourself, stop, eat, and you'll feel good...I've never past the two week line in the motavation department and was wondering if you can help...

my bro is on his second round of p90x. for me, I started but didn't make it so far. Now I'm willing to give it another go eventhough I chose a hard time (back to school), but for some reason I feel like this is my turn and I'll be able to bring it all the way.(!!!)
The point of joining is to have a back up plan so I don't quit...

Hi and welcome to the thread Ari! And thanks for being the 1st to replyemoticon You came to the right place for support!

Congrats on choosing to make a change in your life. Success starts with the decision to change and the commitment to see it through and reach your goals.

I don't know a lot about your particular situation, but from what you stated, you seem to have the desire to make a change and get healthier but your problem is sticking with the program for any length of time to see progress.

You just have to focus on the reason why you started in the first place. I feel like when we first start, we're really driven because we're so hungry to see results, but if we don't have the support and motivation to keep moving forward, it's easy to lose sight of what are goals are and revert back to our old habits that got us in the shape we are in now.

In the beginning, you had a vision for yourself - how you wanted to look physically, how you wanted to feel. Hold on to that and don't let yourself let it go - that's what we call your WHY. Your WHY can be your best motivator as long as you keep it in your field of vision. Maybe it would help if you write it down so you can see it every day and keep you focused and on track.

How is your nutrition? Nutrition is key to your success! You can't out-exercise a bad diet! Remember that! Try to make food about fuel, not about an answer to something else. Focus on eating clean, whole foods. Stay away from over-processed, boxed foods full of junk that is bad for our bodies.

Obstacles will be put in front of you and you'll have to overcome them. Life will get in the way and you may miss a day here and there. But don't let it derail the WHOLE process!
You have to keep moving forward and you WILL see progress! You know what mistakes you've made in the past, so learn from them, move forward and keep pushing play, no matter what!

You said you feel like this is your turn and you will be able to bring it all the way, so lets do it! We will get you where you want to be. I'll be here in your corner, cheering you on the whole way emoticon

Great thread Cyndi. I agree with Jason, the cover photo is great! Almost as good as the rest of the information you posted for us.

My accountability for today was to prep for day 1 of round two of Insanity. Took my pictures and my measurements and posted my goals for this round to my team.

Glad you stopped by emoticon

Glad to hear you're getting prepared this week! Make sure to take your measurements, take starting pics and do the Insanity Fit Test. You can find the worksheets by going to the Get Fit tab on the toolbar/fitness tools/worksheets. It's a great tool to track your progress throughout the program emoticon

Make sure you have a good recovery drink-the Results and Recovery is a great one or whey protein powder is good as well. I try to stay away from anything containing sucralose and look for stevia.

Do you have a heart rate monitor? I highly recommend that you get one if you don't. Its almost a mandatory piece of gear. It will monitor your heart rate to be sure you stay in the safe zones and that you recover between intervals. The HRM also calculates the number of calories burned during you workout, which is also important information. There are many out there at different price points. I have a Polar FT4 and it suits my needs perfectly. And it's pink emoticon

How is your nutrition? If you don't already, try to stick with clean, whole foods. Don't make the mistake of under-eating while trying to lose. This is an intense program and you need the food for energy. Under-eating causes, injury, sickness, and hitting a wall.

What is your current fitness level? Have you completed any other programs or is this your first?

Push play every day, fuel your body with the right foods, get rest and you WILL see results!

My name is Kevin and I live in Conyers, GA (about 30 minutes from Atlanta) and I am starting Insanity this Friday with the primary goal of losing weight. For all of my adult life, I've lived a laid back sedentary lifestyle, and as a result I weigh 210 lbs. which makes me overweight for someone standing 5' 9".

I first heard of Insanity while channel surfing late one night and said to myself "That's awesome!". Of course, I know that the program is tough but the results are worth it. The day after seeing the infomercial I ordered the program.

I'm 29 years old and have made an ultimate goal to be in perfect shape by the time I turn 30 next August.

I'm ready to dig deep and transform myself so I can finally look and feel good.
