1st day-couldn't make it through :0(
Showing 18 results.
I just started the BBL and could only make it a little over half way through the Bum Bum workout. I tried to just keep going but found I had no form left. So a little frustrated right now. Did others find they couldn't keep up at first? Should I continue with the day two video tommorow or stay on the day one video until I can get through it? Thanks in advance!

Hi jcbriski,

I've not done Brazil Butt Lift, but everyone struggles in the first day (or weeks) with any of the beachbody programs. Just do your best! and next time you will do better. Tomorrow do Day 2, and push it to your limits. Do not worry if you can't keep up with the trainers. You will get better with time.

Hey Jess,

BBL was my very first BB program - it has a funny name but is def NO joke! Don't feel bad - it is a TOUGH program. Stretch a bit, drink lots of water, and jump back in tomorrow. I met Leandro in Vegas last June and he is probably the most genuine, open-hearted, trainer that I've ever met! Soon, you'll be loving it - I promise. BBL is a VERY effective program and I KNOW you can stick with it. See you soon!

I plan on starting tomorrow! I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it all the way through either. I just had a baby and my doctor gave me the all clear to start exercising to lose this baby weight. Good luck! I'm excited and hopefull that BBL is going to work for me. emoticon

I just finished day 2 and I made it all the way through. I did think about quitting because I was so sore from yesterday but I just pushed on. I don't have the moves just right and I believe I may have even made up some of my own emoticon But as long as I am moving I figure it will work and come with time. Feeling much better about it today. Thanks everyone!

Sometimes I have to take breaks, but Im on day 9 and ive lost 5 pounds and 9" off my body!!!! I still cant make it all the way through the bum bum workout but each time I do it I make it a little further. DONT QUIT!!! emoticon

Girl, I feel ya. I bought BBL in February of 2010 because the previous year I went to Disney World and all the Brazilian girls were there with their tiny bikinis on and their unbelievably round booties and I made it a goal of mine to find out a way to acquire such a butt. And I remember not being able to pass the pencil test or being able to get through the plies at the very beginning (those tip toe plies are killer!) the way I remember my half way point through the video at the time was that I couldn't even stand up, my legs felt like jello and i thought they were going to collapse from underneath me. It was awful. But I liked the pain, and I continued to do the videos even though I felt like hell at the time and they started to be fun. Eventually the started to get easier, and now BBL is my favorite workout! I have tried to transition into "tougher" workouts like Turbo Fire and Insanity but I just keep coming back to BBL. Since then I have made pretty good progress and I am currently doing a BBL/Insanity/Asylum hybrid just to mix things up and keep life interesting. I'm happy to hear that it's getting easier for you...stick with it! You won't be sorry =)

I am almost done with the 60 day program and I am able to get through the entire Bum Bum workout without stopping, but it's still a challenge! My first time through I had to take a breather halfway through and drink an entire, huge glass of water. Just keep up with it and you will build more endurance!

I did the first workout today. I couldn't even do the same form as the "beginner" girls. Although I have some prior ballet training, I was losing my balance. I felt like a duck. Nobody was watching (except for my 3 yr old) and I felt mortified at how out of shape I am. I stopped many times in the middle (just because I couldn't keep up with the reps until the end) and wondered if I should start the same workout DVD tomorrow as I'm not really doing the whole thing properly. But I feel my thighs stretched and in pain (just from stepping front to back, side to side. I didn't even bend much for those lunges)...so I'm going to move on to day 2 tomorrow as scheduled (provided I can get out of bed and walk, haha). I believe the DVDs are made to work different muscles (so that your prior worked out muscles can heal). My logic (which I maybe wrong) is that if I do the same DVD tomorrow I will be miserable working the same muscles when it's sore (even though I FELT like I was doing nothing). I'm not sure what the correct answer is, but I wanted to let you know you're not alone.

I notice this post from a few months ago and am curious: Did you continue with the program? Did it get any easier? I just finished the CE/TF hybrid and thought I'd do BBL as a 'rest' program. Let me tell you I was wrong. Bum Bum gets my heart rate pumping and it takes all my effort to get through.

Hey!

I have not done that specific program but I have been where you are when I began p90x and am there again, day to day in parts, while doing INSANITY. I cannot keep up, but I will...someday soon - I HOPE!

You will hear it over and over, but keep pressing play! Keep pressing play!

Do not worry about what you cannot do. Do what you can do, then next time, do a little more. SERIOUSLY push yourself, but know yourself. You know when you can go one more...or if you need to take 5 sec to breathe - rest if you need to, stay hydrated, maybe push pause, but get back to it.

Do the routine that is set up, you will benefit.

Any other words of encouragement - let me know. You are doing GREAT!

Dig Deeper!
Peace,
J

I've been doing BBL since March 2012. I LOVE IT!! I honestly don't remember my first week but I do know I was sore (still am with the Master Series) all the time. I didn't do the Cardio Axe as I do hard cardio at the gym. I pretty much stick with Higher & Tighter, Bikini Body, Ipanema Booty, and Sculpting. I hope you were able to stick with it. I lost 80 pounds in 20 months with the cardio and BBL 6 days a week. emoticon

CalGirl, I know your post is old, but I could've written that myself (except substitute dog for 3-year-old)! I grew up dancing and playing sports and while I do weight training weekly with my trainer, I haven't done proper cardio for years. I'm 42 and thought I was in decent shape. I passed the pencil test and while I have saddlebags and cellulite (and have since I was 13), I look really good. Boy, was I wrong!

Like you, I felt horribly awkward. I could hardly keep up past the first 10 minutes. I had to go chug some water and then every time they'd switch movements I'd try to join back in. I'd get a few reps in and then be panting again! I would be shocked if I even did half the moves, and ones I did do I know were WAY off. Following the lead of others here, I plan to move on with day two tomorrow. I think you're right that the rotation of the workouts is meant to work different muscles on different days and allow a rest period so they don't get too fatigued. I just hope by the end of six weeks I can get through the Bum Bum workout without having to stop and pant!

This is my first BB workout. Do you all find it helpful to have a group? Or should I try it on my own the first time through?

I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that you and others had trouble getting through day one! I'm in OK shape but haven't done anything like BBL for decades. I initially quit BBL a few months ago - after doing Bum Bum once on the first day. But last week I started up again and decided to just take it really slowly and only do a few of the reps. So this time, I got through about 1/4 or 1/3 of Bum Bum before I had to quit. Today, I'm 10 days into the Slim and Lift and feel I'm making progress with it - probably because I'm stronger from doing the BBL program - and can do almost the entire routine, though I have to take several breaks to let my heart rate slow down. When I first started BBL, I had to stop during Bum Bum because my legs were too weak, but that seems to be changing and now I have to stop because my heart rate is too high and, according to the instructions, you're supposed to back off when it gets too difficult.

You are not alone!! On my first day of the program i thought i was going to die!! The Bum Bum workout is tough!! I barely made it half way through before I thought i was going to pass out, this one realy gets your cardio going!! But like everyone has said yes it will get easier, im on the last day of week 3 and i just barely made it through the Bum BUm routine this morning emoticon but dont stick on day one move ahead as you should. The other workouts will make you stronger for the next time Bum Bum comes around! emoticon

I too am kind of glad to hear others find it so challenging! I have done a full 60 days in the past and man, it completely changed my body. But it was a killer and I felt fatigued all the time and started dreading the workouts and craving more 'off' days. I am starting again this week with the plan to stretch each 7 day week out into 10 day segments, so it will take me 40 days instead of 28 days to complete a full month of BBL... BUT it will still give the results I'm looking for and the down time I crave to do other exercises or have off days when needed. I'm hoping this plan will help me stick with it better!

But yes, I have to take 2-3 breaks around the middle of bum bum and slurp down water before I can keep going. I totally get it, but man does it work!! :-)
