Hi,

My name is Bob. I am a Beach Body Coach. I am currently doing the Insanity program. Yes, this is my first time doing Insanity. It is my goal to work with people just starting out. I want you to know, you're not alone. Your questions are the same questions I had. Your aches and pains after doing a workout, are the same aches and pains I had and still have. Frustrations, the same frustrations.
I love motivation, I love motivational videos. I love that intense feeling you get deep inside when you're ready to take on any challenge.

Here we can talk about what day we are one. What went right, what went wrong. Nutrition tips and information. Recipes for recovery. The bottom line, feel comfortable. There are no losers, there are no failures.

So lets do this, lets share our information, lets work together, and lets get this done!!!

I want to see everyone earn that T-Shirt!!!

Keep the core strong!!!!

A TIP FOR LATE NIGHT SNACKING:

Get hungry late at night?

Here are your choices. You see a left over slice of pizza. A bag of chips. Some natural peanut butter. Some almond nuts.

I hope you are not going to choose that pizza or chips. Choose the natural peanut butter and almond nuts. Take two tablespoons of all natural peanut butter and throw in about 10 almond nuts. It's good, it's crunchy, and it will help curb those late night hunger pangs.

PLUS: It's hard for the body to digest, so while you are sleeping...your body is working hard to break it all down.

Keep the core strong!!!

I have a question about natural peanut butter... Is it as tasty as the regular stuff? I have not tried it yet and wonder if I'm going to get a rude awakening when I do, lol ;)

I personally think it is. And when I add the almond nuts, it makes it even better. Another good suggestion, if you do Shakeology. I mix the peanut butter in with the shakeology, and it's really good. At least I think so.
If you have not tried shakeology, get with me on it. It's very healthy for you!

I am 47 years old. I too, have issues with the knees. I have been very concerned about that as well.

1) Make sure you talk to your doctor.

2) Do what you can, your body will tell you. You can modify your moves if you need to. If you can't bed down all the way, do what you can. That's modifying.

3) Make sure you are wearing good Cross Trainer shoes. You have to do a lot of side to side movements with Insanity. You need good shoes for support.

Your body is going to tell you when you've had enough. Do what you can. If you need to take a break, take a break. Just jump right back in when you can. Shaun T. does a lot of squat exercises. I can't go down all the way, so I just do what I can. Trust me, I get the burn in the quads.

I have noticed over the past two weeks that I've been getting stronger. I also drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and I continue to improve my nutrition. Making sure that I am feeding the body the protein it needs.

At 47 years of age, I know about those aches and pains. You are going to be sore after your workouts. That's why it's so important to do those stretches with Shaun T. at the end. As you continue to go through the work out, you will get stronger. Most important thing is to just keep pushing play. You can do this, just be careful. Focus on your core, keep it tight.

And keep it strong!!!

Good morning!

Well, I am drinking my whey protein at the moment. Getting my 7 year old ready for his day at school. I got to tell you, I'm dreading today's work out. Pure Cardio day!!! This is day 5 for me on the Insanity program. I don't know what to expect. Cardio recovery was no picnic, but I've been told pure cardio is one of the toughest days. Regardless, I'm going to do this!!! So, in about an hour and a half, I come face to face with Shaun T. Then, time for a nice breakfast after that.

Today:
3 slices of turkey bacon (lower sodium)
3 eggs (two whites only / one whole)
2 slices of Sara Lee whole wheat bread

And of course, lots of water.

Keep the core strong!!!

Day 5 completed. And let me tell you this, as the sweat is STILL rolling off me as I type. Pure Cardio has got to be by far, the most intense and insane work out I've ever seen or done. I'm not going to lie, this work out completely exhausted me. I hurt!!! But I kept pushing.
I had to take several breaks today. The most important thing is that I jumped back in. I didn't allow my breaks to let me cool off. Just enough to grab some water, get my breath, and get the energy to keep moving forward.
Pure Cardio is no joke!!!

Keep pushing play! And keep the core strong!

Time for a much needed shower and some protein.

Day 6, completed. And I think I feel more worn out today than I did yesterday. Today, I struggled a lot. I kept with the program, so I'm pleased with that. I did not quit. However, I found myself feeling soreness in the legs almost immediately during the warm up. I kept pushing through it. I had to take a lot of small breaks, like 2 to 5 seconds. Maybe 10 on some moves. I would just jump back in. I've been told that when you start the Insanity training, expect to be extremely sore for the first two weeks. The soreness will eventually lessen as you progress. So I am just taking this in stride. I need to go to Walmart and get a heart monitor.
Now, time for some protein!!!

I know the feeling. As soon as I was finished, I was so tired I sat down on the coach and I was out!!

I got my schedule mixed up. I wanted my Day 6 to land on Friday. Somehow it landed on today, leaving tomorrow as my rest day. I want Saturday as my rest day. I think I am going to get in a good 3 to 4 mile run tomorrow, maybe some push ups and sit ups. Then take off all day on Saturday...get a good rest. And be ready to hit it hard on Sunday

insanity medical question.

I have a kind of embarrassing question, anyways I noticed today that my left leg is bigger then the right. I measured it and its actually an inch bigger my calf too. I also feel like my whole left side is stronger than the right. I noticed that because when I exercise I start feeling the pain faster on my right side than my left, is that normal? I'm kinda of freaking out about it. Oh and by the way I just started insanity this past Monday.

I don't think that you have anything to embarrassed about. In fact, I think your question is a very normal question and a lot of people experience the same thing. You may favor your left side, it might be the side you lean on more or you push hard on. I don't know. But it is perfectly normal.

Congratulations on starting Insanity. You and I are right in line together. I just finished day 6 today. I messed up on the scheduling. I wanted Saturday to be my rest day. So tomorrow, I'm going to get in a good run and rest on Saturday. Hit it hard on Sunday!!!

How do you like it so far? If you don't have a coach already, I would be very happy to be your coach and we can work this through together. Either way, I will be here to help and give any advice I can.

Keep in mind also, the nutrition is EXTREMELY important. Have you figured out your caloric intake?
