P90X Accountability & Support
p90x accountability workouts p90x2 p90x hybrid muscle few rounds
10/25/12 8:16 AM
Hey Everyone! I've completed a few rounds of P90X, did X2 earlier this year and am now back at the original. However I'm following Steve Edward's modified 'Mass Gaining' schedule, and I'm adding a few runs and X2 workouts as well.

Decided to look for/offer accountability and support for others doing P90X. You don't need to be on the same schedule as me. Lets push each other to really BRING IT!

Day 5 - The Glamour Muscles! Back and Biceps - Done!

I've been running 30-35 miles a week for the past few months, and really have lost some strength - big time. Almost all of my pull ups today were chair assisted. Also I couldn't curl near as much as I was able to in July. Going to keep pressing play and gain that strength back!

Coach Bob how's it going?

Not a big fan of the P90X. I gave it a shot when I first started all this but I never the feeling of losing weight.
Sweat!!! I want to sweat!!!
Eh, but that's neither here nor there...

Anyway, I'm reporting for duty!
I wont' be doing any P90 but I'll be popping in for support and advice.

Hope all is well!

You are certainly welcome Jedi!

Just finished yoga x, and I was going to go on a run following. However, dripping with sweat I decided it would be too difficult to get dressed for 20 degree running. Next week...run before yoga.

Today was day 1 of Week 2 for me. Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps. My arms were still feeling the effects of last week, but I did see some small gains in my push ups, upped some weight, and upped some reps! Bringing it!

Thanks for the message Coach BoB. Glad to be back with you on the boards. I am currently on week 8 of X2. I am doing v-sculpt and chest/shoulders/tris routine right now and have one more week of this before I start the P.A.P's. How did you like those workouts?

I really liked the PAP's and was surprised that I didn't get tired of the repetition. There are some real form challenges to work on.

The weather cooperated with me this morning and was able to get a 4 mile run in before doing ARX.

Guys I'm looking for some new snack ideas. I've been having nuts, cheese sticks, fruit of course, granola bars, and edamame. What do you guys go to?

When I started this journey many moons ago, my goal was to be around 185... maybe even 180.
Surprisingly I have been able to get to 178 lbs. I never ever thought I would under the 180 again.
I just watched my diet more closely and started to work out.
From what I'm reading, my ideal weight for my size (5'9") should be around 170.
Do I dare push for 170 or just try for 175??
Really, my goal now is 175. If I can get and stay there, I'll be one happy camper.

The challenge now is just losing the belly.
Any help on how to lose the belly fat?

Thanks

I'm right there with you Jedi. The best advice I can give is just keep at it. It gets harder as you progress. Perhaps a change in diet will help you bust a plateau and work on that belly? I'm hoping my marathon training in the spring will get me there.

As far as what you goal or ideal weight should be...I would say where ever you feel comfortable. That's what it's all about.

X2 Base and Back this morning. That is one serious workout! Gets my heart pumping and then my nemesis - pull ups!

Small improvements again from last week!

Base and Back has grown to be my favorite P90X workout. I like how it is put together with plyo/pull-ups throughout the entire workout. When I finish it gives me a sense of accomplishment because it is extremely tough. I look forward to it on friday.

10/31/12 Accountability: X2 Chest/Shoulders/Tris/Arx

I feel like I am getting much better with some of the exercises during this routine. I finally figured out how to do chattarockers.

This is my issue too. I've really cracked down on portion control and watching what I eat.

I hear sooo many mixed things on getting rid of stomach fat..I try to do more cardio and ab work but idk lol I guess doing that and focusing on diet has helped me the most with it.

Go for 175 then 170emoticon

Hey welcome back. Good to see another familiar face from the old thread!!

From everything I've read, you can't control what part of your body will lose the body fat first.
You just have to keep at it and not lose hope.

Right now I'm just watching what I eat, trying to stick to my calorie intake.
My workout consists of only 50 minutes of treadmill work.
Hopefully on Monday I will start either Insanity or Asylum again.

Yeah, I'm going to see how close I can get to 170.
I never though I would get to 180 but I kept at it.
We'll see, we'll see...

Coach,

Does a good sweat go hand in hand to mean you had a good workout?
Not sure if you remember from the old thread, but as much I enjoyed the Insanity and Asylum workouts, I always felt I didn't workout
either hard or long enough because I hadn't worked up a good sweat.
That's the main reason I started to layer my clothing, to really work up a sweat.

Still to this day, when I jump on the treadmill, I wear my: long sleeve, hoody, and beanie hat.
Sweat, I need to sweat.

I just have it ingrained in my head that if you are dripping with sweat, that means you had a really good workout.

Thank you!!

I agree with that! We just gotta keep doing what were doing and make progress a day at a time.

Once I got my calorie in take in check (wich was hard for me) I was amazed how much it made a difference. I was over eating and not realizing it,my days of being able to eat what I want are over lol

I never understood or wanted to understand how important the calorie intake was.
You have to eat food to lose the weight???
C'mon... that doesn't make sense!!

Anyway, I'm hoping that by Monday I can start an actual DVD workout.
As much as I have enjoyed the treadmill, I think I need a change.
I run on the treadmills to all these music videos DVDs I've made.
Have over 60 DVDs... something like 90-100 hours worth of music videos.
The spanish videos are my favorite... but then instead of running I wanna dance.
Sigh... I just can't win.
