ENGAGE AND LET’s DO THIS!!!!!!

First things first:

Nutrition
If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. I will be doinf the Combat Kick Start 1500 calorie plan, and following up with the recommended macros and calories for the program. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Use the Nutrition guid that came with your program, for optimal results. Beachbody has put a lot of resources into these plans to optimize your results. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet many of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to Stay With The Fight, everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

Take your Measurements
Take your before & after pictures

Motivation
Nothing is more important than motivation. Times will get tough and there are going to be days that you feel like you cannot get up or you feel too tired at night to workout. This is where your Coach and this thread help out. By joining this thread you will find like minded people that will push you and look for help from you to be pushed. You are doing either a 63 or 90 day program and it helps to have not just your Coach in your corner but a whole team ready to cheer you on and waiting for you to cheer them on.

Workouts
WARNING: The first few weeks are rough, but after you make it through them things get much better.

Too many people give up during the first few weeks because they think it is to tough. Everyone that has done any of these programs has had moments of doubt. Just KEEP PUSHING PLAY.

Pre-Workout
All the workouts are intense! You need the right fuel to “Bring It!” Your pre-workout meal actually begins the day before. So again, a solid nutrition plan is vital. A pre-workout meal about an hour before is important. Be warned: if you ENGAGE in a cardio workout too close to the pre-workout meal you may lose it.

If you workout first thing in the morning like myself, I advise a small snack (I like a cup of black coffee and 1/2 a banana).

Post-Workout
Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. By adding a Recovery Drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. You need to replace these glycogen stores immediately with a 4:1 ratio of quality, fast acting carbs and quality protein. Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc.

The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. I have used the recovery drink from day one and I highly recommend it.

Come to the thread every day and post your daily accountability and questions and before you know it you will be at 20, then 40 and finally 63 days.

This thread is a great way to meet like minded, motivated people that are going through exactly what you are going through. They will help you stay accountable and motivated, and you will keep them accountable and motivated! Everyone comes from different backgrounds and will be able to share tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well.

A Little about my journey: September 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary, I found myself eating at a restaurant, and making a pig of myself. We were invited to a local eatery to have a meal, honoring those of us in the fire service. Upon returning to my station, I unbuttoned my top button to relieve the pressure of my tight uniform pants and felt so ashamed that I paid tribute to my fallen comrades by eating myself sick. It was at that moment I decided to make a drastic change in my life.

I dropped some weight through better eating, some exercise, and in December I decided to Start and complete P90X2. By March 28 of 2012, that mission was accomplished. I then began a round of P90X/Insanity, and have since completed that hybrid twice.

To date I have lost 53 pounds and shed 66% of my body fat, gotten off blood pressure medication, and have never looked back.

I am geared toward successful fitness, and I dedicate my time to bringig others along for the ride.

Results start here, join us to get in the best shape of your life!

Good morning!

For the incoming new folks, trust me, you are in the right place! I stumbled on this team (different board) in late July? and have been posting every day since then. This team is just a bunch of normal people who want to make improvements in their lives. We all come from different walks of life, from still in school, to graduated and job searching(me), to folks with kids in established careers, to folks in careers that require a lot of travel, to those dealing with sickness and some recovering from sickness. We have folks trying to lose 20 lbs, to folks trying to lose 200 lbs, to folks trying to gain weight and muscle. If you're looking for a place for motivation, inspiration, and dedication.. you've found it! Coach Rob is one of the absolute best around. He is truly devoted to helping others improve their lives day by day. He has made this team become a family.

You've already committed to the first step by searching for a board, so commit to this team. We won't let you down, and everyone is welcome here!

A little about my journey: Did p90x 2 years ago with amazing 20 lb weight loss, then went back to college and didn't think about maintaining the amazing results, and gained back 30 lbs within the next two years to hit my high of 160. I was sluggish, didn't feel attractive, and knew I was not healthy by any means at my height of 5'0". After graduating college in May, I decided I needed to get myself healthy before openning the door to the next part of my life, or I would just keep going downhill. Started Insanity on June 4 and joined this board toward the end of July. I didn't commit to the program or my nutrition until the last two weeks, which is also when I found this board. To that point, I had only lost 3-5 lbs. From the end of July when I joined, to now, starting phase 3 of my hybrid, I've lost 20 lbs. These folks keep me on point. They'll do that for you too.

As for my accountability for the day, I've been sick with a bug for the past week, so I'm recovering from not eating much of anything and the weakness and lack of energy that has come with it. I'll be jumping back into the final phase of my p-sanity-x p90x/insanity hybrid on Monday hopefully. As far as nutrition today, I started off my morning well with oatmeal, but today will be a testing day as to what my stomach can handle. But, as always, Water water water!

Have a good day, and welcome!

Lindsey

Good morning - TGIF!

First off, welcome to all the new folks. You're at the right thread to start your journey to better fitness and health!

I found Coach Rob this past April with the start of my first round of P90X. Since then I have completed round 2 and will be starting round 3 shortly with X2. I could not have done it without Coach Rob and this team. My results; lost 10 pounds and went from a tight 33" waist to a loose 31" waist. Word of warning, bury your scale as it is not an accurate measurement of progress.

Jump on in and join us for the best journey of your life!

Doing yoga tonite with the hubby. Only a few more workouts till round three! Nutrition has been awesome so far today. Will all be posted in My Fitness Pal.

Quick check in.. Insanity Day 54 done.. Max Int Circ and Insane Abs. Very tough day today as work left me sore , tired and unmotivated. I really struggled to get through the workout taking more breaks than usual. A bit disappointed. Will try to get more rest and sleep today to get better results tomorrow, I hope. I'll try to check in again later.

Coach, again, love the banner and I know this thread will be just as good, if not better than the last. By the way, congrats on the 23rd anniversary. Way to stay committed with the busy schedule.

Keep pushing play guys and dig deep!
I got 7 workout days left and round 2 of Insanity will be complete.. Let's get it!

Coach I know you are doing some reno-x, but I gotta say the "family house" (thread) feels like it's completely new. emoticon

1. Who are you? Jeremy

2. Why did you decide to do this workout program and join this group?
This is my 2nd go round with coach. Stumbled on the last thread in late July when I finished my first round of Insanity. I used this group to help me conquer (well, in 2 weeks it will be conquered) P90x after several failed attempts after the last 2 years. After this round, I plan on doing a 2 month non-BB program. I will stay active for accountability. As others have said, this is the best group on BB.com, and from my experience, it is 100% true. Great group of positive people, all with different goals, but all working together to help everyone on the journey. I say journey, because it's just that. Just like Rome wasn't built in a day, this isn't a sprint. This is about a lifestyle change that will go well beyond the next 60-90 day program.

3. What do you hope to get out of the next 90 days? What are your goals? Dream big!
My goal for the next 90 days is to lose 20lbs. I've tried to just "eat right" but not really track calories. I recently DL'd My Fit Pal, and I wish I had done it sooner. Seeing the numbers add up really puts it into perspective.

I think I've written a novel.

I'll end with a quote. If someone has said it better before you, then let them say it.

"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” -Gautama Siddharta
