P90X Day 5.
P90X Day 5.
10/28/12 6:12 AM
Hey guys, I am new with everything here- even exercising. I'm used to sedentary lifestyle. I've started P90X last Tuesday and I wasn't able to do everything. I do not know how to do push-ups and everybody is laughing at me at how I did it. I am feeling down because I am afraid that I am weak to follow through teh 90 days in P90X.

Also I am wondering, when do you usually see the results of P90X? Aside from P90X I sometimes walk on the treadmill at least 4miles x 3times/week.

I am 5'2. 142lbs. My waist area is 39 inches [I want my waist to go down to at least 28] Is that even possible? And my goal weight is 110-120lbs.

I would appreciate any response. Thank you!

Hi Xyaa,
First of all, congratulations on making the decision to get healthy! Starting this journey was the hardest step. Hang in there, and don't get discouraged. Getting fit and healthy is often a long journey, but it is one that can be accomplished if you commit to it.

Push Play everyday, eat right, and get rest and you will see results. Remember, this is a marathon, not a race. None of us got out of shape overnight so we can't expect overnight results! You will see progress every time you push play! It will get easier, I promise emoticon

You don't have to go down that road alone. Try your best, join a good support group here, and get startedemoticon

Just don't give up! Keep pushing play and remember your "why" for wanting to get fit and healthy, then the rest is simple... KEEP GOING until you reach your goals!

Best of luck to you!
Cyndi

If it was easy, EVERYONE would be in shape. Screw those people who are laughing at you. Prove to them your strong.

P90X isn't made to point out your weaknesses, it's made for you to over come them. I guarantee you by the time your done with the program you will be able to do a proper push up. Till then just do push-ups on your knees.

As Tony would say, 'Do your best....and forget the rest.' If you show up, give it all you got, and stick to the nutrition plan...YOU WILL GET RESULTS!

If you have any questions or need any help/advice/tips, feel free to message me and I'll get back to you. ;)

Live life,

Alex

I know exactly how you feel!

I was NEVER good with push-ups my entire life. Then I started going to a gym. I felt a little sheepish admitting to the attendant, a young woman to boot, that I couldn’t do push-ups.

Her advice to me was to do “Girly Push-ups”, which is where you use your knees as your toes. She explained to not let the name or the concept discourage me, because in time after my muscles grew stronger I would be able to pump out regular push-ups without a problem.

That’s exactly what I did – and that’s exactly what happened. Each day I would attempt to do a regular push-up, and if it was too hard, I’d fall to my knees and break through that way. I was able to break out many regular push-ups in just a few weeks.
I’m starting P90X in a couple days, and I’m really anxious and fearful about not being able to make it myself. I wish you all the best. Just don’t give up and keep pressing play.
