Hi Catherine,
I am just starting Insanity as well. I did the fit test on Oct 30, the first Plyometric Cardio Circuit yesterday and I am stiff in places I have never been stiff before... my feet are stiff from all the jumping and landing "softly" on the balls of my feet. I swear it is the first time in my life my feet have been stiff! However, I am actually looking forward to todays workout.
I was a smoker for 32 years, but I've been cigarette free for five months now. Unfortunately, during those five months I've gone from 168lbs to 195lbs! But I learned a few things quitting smoking:
- It doesn't matter how many times you give up. All you have to do to succeed is try one more time than you give up.
- Tell those around you what you are doing. The first several times I tried quitting smoking (and it took several attempts) I did it in private so I wouldn't "look bad" when I failed. That was a mistake. It is ok to fail as long as you try again... and again, and again. Now, everyone I know knows that I've started the Insanity work outs.
- Take it one day at a time and don't worry about what is ahead, concentrate on what you have already accomplished.
If you haven't done so already, I suggest spending some time reading other members' stories and looking at their before and after photos. I find it extremely motivating to see people that started 100lbs heavier than me that now have hot "beach bodies". I figure if they can do it so can I, and so can you.
And as Shaun T. says, the only number that matters is 100. As long as you give 100% that is all that is required. Right now my 100% is about 10% of what the people in the videos are doing, but that is OK. I am doing the best that I can and that is all that matters.
