Starting Insanity Tomorrow!

I really need to be kept accountable for my daily workouts. My biggest problem is just not doing it! I also want to keep up on nutrition so maybe if anyone was interested in talking daily about the workouts and what we ate that would be awesome. I have tried the program before but I always quit before even really getting started. Let's do this together!

Sticking with a workout program but having a team to plug in with is important! I'll be starting Asylum Volume 2 a week from tomorrow and would be more than happy to help motivate you!

Hi Catherine,

That's awesome you're starting tomorrow! I'm currently doing a hybrid of P90X and Insanity and week 7 starts tomorrow for meemoticon

It's crazy tough, but stick with it, eat clean and you'll get results emoticon

Best of luck to you!

You can join a challenge group, that should keep you accountable. I know it worked for me when I did Insanity. If you don't feel like working out, come to us we're here to help you stay on track.

Dont forget to take your measurements, photos and measurements are the best rewards!

Congratulations to both of you. Remember those pictures and I would suggest have them in more than 1 place. I lost my day 1 pic (deleted from camera) but day 30... still wish I had it.

Accountablity is very important! Having the support of others going through a workout program and exchanging challeneges and how to overcome them is like nothing else you can get! There are always those times we are too busy, too tired, etc etc etc those excuses just pop up. I'm a 46 yo mother of 2 girls (22 and 16) work full time and help with my daughters varsity cheer team. We are all busy, but we help each other to keep going.

Buddy request me - I'd love to hear how you are doing!

Hi Catherine,

I am just starting Insanity as well. I did the fit test on Oct 30, the first Plyometric Cardio Circuit yesterday and I am stiff in places I have never been stiff before... my feet are stiff from all the jumping and landing "softly" on the balls of my feet. I swear it is the first time in my life my feet have been stiff! However, I am actually looking forward to todays workout.

I was a smoker for 32 years, but I've been cigarette free for five months now. Unfortunately, during those five months I've gone from 168lbs to 195lbs! But I learned a few things quitting smoking:
  1. It doesn't matter how many times you give up. All you have to do to succeed is try one more time than you give up.
  2. Tell those around you what you are doing. The first several times I tried quitting smoking (and it took several attempts) I did it in private so I wouldn't "look bad" when I failed. That was a mistake. It is ok to fail as long as you try again... and again, and again. Now, everyone I know knows that I've started the Insanity work outs.
  3. Take it one day at a time and don't worry about what is ahead, concentrate on what you have already accomplished.

If you haven't done so already, I suggest spending some time reading other members' stories and looking at their before and after photos. I find it extremely motivating to see people that started 100lbs heavier than me that now have hot "beach bodies". I figure if they can do it so can I, and so can you.

And as Shaun T. says, the only number that matters is 100. As long as you give 100% that is all that is required. Right now my 100% is about 10% of what the people in the videos are doing, but that is OK. I am doing the best that I can and that is all that matters.

Congrats on not smoking anymore, that's a big step in the right direction. I was sore the entire first week of Insanity, I felt like there was no breaks but then I saw how much more endurance I had. As for looking at the success stories, that's a great motivation, I did that at the beginning to get me up and going, I still look at them all the time now. Thanks for bringing it up!

Hey Catherine! First off congrats on getting yourself to start! I'll be finishing my third week tommorow, and let me tell you, it is such an exhilarating feeling when your down on the ground after a workout feeling like you just conquered the world!! It is definitely hard, but it goes by so fast that you do not have time to think about it! The first couple of days will be tough and different, but when your done your fist week you will start noticing your stamina increasing your muscles getting stronger, and you'll be able to push harder. So really give it 100 and push through your first week and let us know how your doing! Good luck missy!! emoticon
