tired high protein diet 1st time p90x nutrition

Hi!

I´m a 26 years (178,6 lbs and 5'9'') woman and I´m now on day 10 of P90X. I changed my diet 6 days ago to a high protein diet and I´m feeling more and more tired. I try to eat everything that I´m supposed to but I hardly can eat all the meals because it´s just too much food for me and I feel stuffed nearly all the time. So sometimes when I really can´t eat more I skip the snack.

that´s an example of what i eat:

breakfast:
3 egg whites
1/8 cup of milk
2 slices turkey ham
1 oz low fat cheese
1/2 cup mushrooms

Protein shake 1,5 scoop (1 scoop: 28g Protein, 0 carb, 0 fat)
Protein bar

Lunch:
1 cup low fat cottage cheese
1 whole weet toast
2 cups green lettuce
1 oz low fat cheese
1 cup mushrooms

skipped the snack

dinner:
6 oz chicken
1 cup green beans
1/2 cup couscous

recovery drink

I know that I should eat more veggies and fruits but I just can´t eat more.

I get around 8 to 9 houres sleep per night.

Please HELP!!!!

First thing I would do would be to add a fat serving (or even 2) to your diet. Two reasons behind this: (1) you need dietary fat to regulate hormones and absorb nutrients, and (2) fat can be used as an additional energy source for the body.

Try drizzling a tablespoon of olive oil over your dinner green beans; that will add some easy fat and calories without making you feel more stuffed than you already are.

You may also think about swapping out your protein bar for a handful (1/4 cup) of almonds; whole food fat source.

Yep, add some fat and, if you continue to be low energy, switch to the Phase II diet which will give you more carbs. You've got to fuel your body to get through a tough program like P90X.

Given you've been at it now for almost three weeks you might also be ready to shift from the high protein "fat shredder" ratios to the "Energy Booster" phase II.
