Hey everyone!

So here's my story in a nutshell. Like many people, I bought the RevAbs Groupon as a way to kickstart my longing to start getting back into shape. Did the initial fitness test, before photos, and all that jazz.

Since I work a 2nd shift and am a night person, I get home at midnight and do my workout around 2am when I have the most energy. Day 1 was last night (early this morning) and I was scheduled to do the Total Strength/Mercy Abs. I did the Total Strength fine. A great challenge and I look forward to doing more of these. I waited 10 minutes and started the Mercy Abs routine and that was when I had a problem.

The first set is crunches. The next workout is some sort of sit-up move where you reach over with your arms. I was feeling good after the crunches and when I did my first sit-up-move that was when a MASSIVE abdominal muscle cramp happened. I mean, it was bad. Felt like an alien was trying to pop out of my abs. After a minute, the pain finally subsided. Needless to say, I did no more workouts that night and rested.

Questions
1- Is that normal?
2- Would more stretching and more water could have avoided it?
3- Am I right to be scared of tonight's workout titled "Fire Up Your Abs"?

Any help is appreciated.

Good question!

I have had what you experienced a few times and it's kind of scary. Usually from contracting your abs to hard. It will go away....Could be from dehydration.

I think you need to stick with it. Maybe don't crunch so hard? I've noticed when my abs were weaker I had more issues with that. I'm a week away from completing month 1 and I get to where my qabs fail but they don't get as hard of cramps as they used to!
