P90X substitute exercises
P90X substitute exercises

Hello -

I feel like I've gotten all I can get out of P90x after 2 rounds. I've supplemented some Insanity, Weider X-Factor, P90X+, Supreme Fitness, and One-On-One Vol 1 workouts too, but nothing beats the original P90X format. Frankly, I thought P90X2 was disappointing (I returned it).

Does anyone have supplement exercises to sub for the original P90X exercises (some or all) to make it "fresh" again? I wish Tony would come out with P90X version 2.0 (i.e same format and schedule, but different exercises). It would be nice to mix such a version in with the original.

Thanks! Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Things you could try is to add a weighted vest for the workouts. I do really like his one on one workouts. Have you thought of trying P90X+ workouts? I know many people who really like these workouts.

What is your goal? Have you though of hybriding with another program like Insanity?

Cheers,
Christina

What are your fitness goals? Are you adding muscle and maintaining low bodyfat by this point?

I would say definitely get a weighted vest and use it throughout the program, ten pounds to start with then ramp it up.

Hi Chris -

I'd like to add a little size to my arms, a bit more definition to chest, maintain current shoulders/back, and keep working on the abs! I lost 20# with P90X and have maintained a 165# weight x 2 years. I am short in stature @ 5'5" and 42 y/o - 33-34" waist and 40"-ish chest. I feel great, but would love to get to 160# while achieving the above. My wife is my workout buddy - she does whatever I do workout-wide. The one-on-one discs are OK, but frankly Tony talks too much! I do have X plus, but currently rotate them in on the "off weeks." The Supreme Fitness discs gave me a little more size on my arms, but they aren't that much fun. The Weider vids offer a good cardio workout and I supplement them instead of Kenpo or yoga sometimes. How is the Les Mills Pump workout?

Any homemade hybrid ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks! Bruce
