Week 1: Day 1: X2 Core done. Burned 552 cals. I weighed in today at 156.5 lbs (up a bit due to tons of stress, hence the cortisol I believe. I am aiming for 1 lb weight loss/week and then will reassess. I am sure my core will feel that tomorrow. I definitely see an improvement in my ability to do the moves compared to the last time I did this program however some moves were still a huge challenge. With time, I will get better with these. I loved using the foam roller again. Need to use this more often when not doing X2. Focus on diet is key. Going to start using myfitnesspal again. Lily

Hi Lily! I'm starting my first round of X2 today; hope you don't mind if I join your thread. There don't seem to be many people starting X2 right now, and I don't like trying to jump into a thread that's been going on for a year or so.

Anyway, I've finished 2 rounds of P90X, 2 rounds of Insanity, a round of Asylum, most recently a P90X/Insanity hybrid, and am very excited to start X2! I'm planning to concentrate much more on my diet and push myself like crazy to get the best results possible.

Best of luck on your second round!

I look forward to staying in touch!

Jewels2010: You are more than welcome to be on this thread. Those are all great programs you have completed. One I have not yet tried is Asylum. Maybe one day in the future. I agree, it can be hard to get in on a thread that is already established.

Barb: Welcome to you as well. As with all these programs, you can always repeat them and achieve in better results in all areas.

Week 1: Day 3: Yoga. Burned 356 cals. I am not a huge fan of yoga at all so if I have to do it, I do it on a day that I feel most like it. Plan is to have a rest day tomorrow. I do not want 2 rest days per week so probably going to insert one Turbofire workout for one of the rest days per week for now. Diet again poor yesterday but hope it is finally out of my system. The last few days were really stressful. Having the massage last night was really good for both body and mind. Lily

I survived X2 Core emoticon The hardest thing for me was the pushups on the stability ball, especially on 1 foot. I definitely rolled off a time or two! But I'm sure it'll get better. I loved the stretches with the stability ball at the end of the workout. Stuck to my diet yesterday, so I'm really pleased about that. I'm in the last week of training for a half marathon, so I did a 4-mile run before the workout. Didn't reset my HRM but between the run and the workout burned about 950 calories!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi all, I am about a week ahead of you guys as I started last week for my 1st round of p90x2. I like checking in with a daily thread, so if you don't mind would like to tag along too.

In week 2, I noticed a difference already in x2 Core. My Half Angels were way better in form and reps. Still do not like the med ball pushups as a killer on my wrists. Struggle on the x2 diver pushing myself up, and the banana ball switch crunch is just tricky coordination.

Loving the program and the differences I notice in my form already.

See you guys tomorrow :-)

Jewels2012: X2 core is super tough! The suse of the stability ball makes it all tougher. I do know from past experience, it does get better. Great job with sticking to your diet. High five on your decision to do a half marathon. Wow! My knees could never tolerate doing something like that. I am envious but all in a good way. Gotta love that amazing calorie burn.

dncm: Love having you here. We all could use the extra support and motivation. Awesome to hear the changes are already happening for you. That is so encouraging. I totally suck at the Half Angel move! I do remember last year that as each week went by, that I could see improvements. I can't wait to see those changes. If the wrists are bothering you using the med balls, don't use it. It is not worth injury. Use the modififed moves at any time.

Karen: My next fit club is Thursday. Funny you said they thought you would kill them because my co-workers think the same exact thing about me. Thanks so much for your support. When things in life go off the rails, doing the stuff we normally do like working out, at least allows you to have some control over your own life. I really love TF, I am still intending to do it once a week since 2 rest days per week seems to be too many. I really miss the higher calorie burns with the cardio. Our family does not stay home on halloween anymore. I hate being held hostage at the door all night for 20 kids in total. Much prefer the night out with a scary movie. Your dad is so cute. In their day, women did not body build. They were more soft then. Sorry to hear the neck is still an issue. Is there anything else you can do to prolong the good feelings post PT? Hot packs at other times? What about those hot pack bandaid things you apply to your body and leave on for a couple of hours? Glad to hear the bf did the BBl with you. The workouts look easy but they really target the glutes. Glad he finally gets it. WTG with all the workouts!

Week 1: Day 4: Rest day. Gotta love the extra hour of sleep. Diet better yesterday. Heading in the right direction emoticon. Lily

week 2 Plyocide done. Still pretty tough, really like the stretch routine at the end.

Lily - great call on not using the med ball during x2 core med ball pushups - that's exactly what I did yesterday. And don't get me wrong - my half angels still pretty bad, but I felt better on week 2 for sure.

I do use the med balls during the Balance power plyo push up - I think its just the 3 speed movement that is not quite for me right now.

Thanks for the encouragement, Lily emoticon

Glad you saw improvement, dncm! And my half angels are terrible, by the way.

I did Plyocide for the first time yesterday. Kicked my butt, but I felt good that I could at least do everything for the full time. Except for the very last move; can't remember what it's called, but I couldn't keep up and ultimately ended up on the floor in child's pose.

I'm having to modify my schedule this week since the half marathon is Saturday, so I'm going to do Total Body today.

As far as diet is concerned, I'm doing the Fat Shredder phase (1800 calories) and could use ideas for lunches if anyone has any. Here's what I'm doing during the other meals/snacks:
Breakfast: Smoothie using 1/2 cup of fat free yogurt with 1 cup fruit
Lunch (currently, but am already tired of wraps/sandwich-type stuff): 1 low-carb wrap with 3 oz chicken, tomatoes, romaine, 1 tsp mustard
Snack: 1 tbls natural peanut butter
Post-workout: 12 oz 1% milk (husband won't drink skim, sigh)
Dinner: 12 oz protein (usually either chicken, fish, lean red meat, or pork tenderloin), side salad (about 1.5 cups) with balsamic vinegar, half of a red potato (roasted), and a up of cooked veggies (usually asparagus, green beans, or brocoli and cooked using EVOO).

I can vary breakfast and dinner enough to not get tired of it, but I have got to figure something else out for lunch. I'm considering adding some protein to my morning smoothie (and then only eating 9 oz of protein at dinner), but not sure what type of protein powder would be good.

Any ideas/suggestions would be wonderful!

Thanks, and have a great day!

dncm: Just keep modifying the moves as needed. I have Raynauds disease in my hands which basically means my hands have poor circulation and can really bother me at times. I always have followed Tony's advice of just doing my best. Love how even Barbie modifies the move due to her shoulder.

Jewels: I too get confused and can't follow Tony's direction. I am also tracking my progress with plyocide. I wrote all the moves and how I did and try to beat it each time I do it. I am always moving my schedule around. That marathon is almost here! In regards to lunch, I am usually packing leftovers from the dinner the night before or leftovers that were frozen. Soups and salads are other alternatives. I would encourage you to visit womenshealthmag.com. It has some great ideas there. I used to buy the protein powder at Costco or Walmart, depending which one was cheaper. I have just recently started up with Shakeology and no longer us any of my other protein powders.

Week 1: Day 5:?. I have another fit club tonight. I believe one girl is coming for sure. She said she was scared and was really a beginner. I assured her that we would go at her pace. Depending who comes, I just may do Slim in 6, the first phase. It is about 25 mins long but has no fancy moves and would be perfect for her. We will see. If no one shows, I will be doing something for sure. Diet is getting better. Lily

Recovery/Mobility day 3 week 2 for me. I had purchased the p90x2 with the foam roller/med balls - not the rumble roller initially. Decided I would get rumble roller to use before this mornings workout from Dick's last night. Definitely different - will wait to tomorrow if I notice a huge difference using it.

I actually liked the stretching workout - initially I was rolling my eyes at an hour long, but time really did seem to fly(I did not do this routine in week 1). Glad I did it instead of just "resting". As an aside I really like Relief from Asylum as a quicker stretch/recovery routine too which I almost did instead.

Great idea on tracking Plyocide - I think I will do that too. It is hard sometimes to figure out are we doing a certain count, or doing something to time. I don't think there is official worksheet for Plyocide is there?

Best of luck to you both on your marathon runs. I have a 5k on Thanksgiving that I am doing with my son so not really "training" for it outside of a couple of runs with him.

I am using the endurance plan/Insanity plan 50/30/20, 40/40/20 carbs/protein/fat - but I know what you mean. It is so hard to get enough protein without it becoming monotonous.

See everyone tomorrow!

Thanks for the ideas, Lily, and I'll definitely check out that website emoticon

dncm, I'm interested in hearing if the rumble roller made much of a difference. My husband has actually been doing the workouts with me (didn't anticipate that!), but we only have one roller. Going to get another, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to get the rumble roller. Thanks for the luck, and I hope your 5k with your son goes well emoticon

I did Total Body and Abs last night. It wasn't very pretty at times, but the only thing I could not do was the tricep kickbacks while on the stability ball. Not sure if it's lack of core strengh or shoulder stregth or what, but I couldn't stay on the ball. So, I did them on the floor in plank position :\ I have the P90X pullup bar, and it hasn't failed me yet, but I admit I was a little nervous (okay, a lot nervous) to try the crunchy pullups on it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it held up perfectly.

I think I like the ab workout better than the original AbRipperX. I like that it has fewer hip flexor moves and also fewer possibilities for using momentum.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Total Body and abx 2 - week 2

First using the rumble roller yesterday for Recovery/Mobility - I did feel a little "sorer" (I don't mean looser) but not too bad today. To be safe since it was the first time I used it, today during Total body, I just used the regular foam roller for the warmup. I will continue to use rumble roller though - just think it best to ease into it as I think once the body adjusts, it will be awesome.

Total body was tough again but I enjoyed it. The mule kick burpees were surprisingly tough - but I enjoyed them trying to do it in the allotted time. And the push up side arm balance I loved/hated because they were so challenging. You cannot "space out" and really have to stay focused - I got caught as I stumbled once day dreaming and reminded myself to focus. Did not really love the Rocket Launcher curls for some reason.

There is definitely a trick to this to whether you are on right leg or left leg in round 1 or 2 (he switches on the warrior 3 curl), so I wrote it down on my sheet so I wouldn't forget as sometimes it is easy to miss Tony say it.

Everyone have a good one!

dncm, I found myself enjoying the mule kick burpees as well, even though I can't go as low with my arms while my feet are up as Tony does. Hoping to improve on that though.

Balance+Power done. I think I need to inflate my stability ball more. Tony and the gang look like they barely put a dent in it when they use it, whereas I definitely sink in to mine. Overall, not too bad though I may have rolled off my stability ball a time or two, haha.

Race is tomorrow, so I'm doing Yoga today and taking it easy the rest of the night.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend, and a special THANK YOU to all the veterans and to those still serving our country!

dncm: Oh that rumble roller will hit those tight spots much more effectively then a plain one. Enjoy! I think for variety it would be great to do the relief workout from Asylum. Whatever works best for you, do it. I am sorry to say there is no official tracking sheet for plyocide. It makes sense to have one. I did do one for Insanity. That way I was able to track my breaks and reps and even push myself harder. If you ever want it let me know. I am not doing the marathon. My knees would never allow me to do soemthing like that. Focus is so key! I too need to write which leg I am on. I get confused too easily.

Jewels: That is so fantastic that your hubby is doing the workouts with you. Great support you will have in one another. You can always alternate using the roller. Just follow the modifier. Great way to modify that tricep move. It is super tough. I can do it much better with a lighter weight (3 lbs). Position your legs wide and push down on the shoulder that is holding up your upper body. That will help to stabilize you more. I am horribly weeak to do the crunchy pullups. I think that move I will do with the bands instead. The ab routine is slowed right down giving that core a far better focus and workout, I agree. I found I needed to reinflate my ball every few days. Good luck on your marathon emoticon.

Week 1: Day 6: Total Body done. Burned 600 cals. I am going to do the ab routine tomorrow with a Turbofire cardio workout. Mixing up the routine a bit to ensure I only do one rest week next week. Also want to seperate Total Body and Balance with a day between them. Diet is improving. No one showed at my fit club again yesterday but I do have to say we have had a major snowfall and the roads were not pretty. I did shovel snow twice yesterday and it is still snowing today. That will be an extra workout all on its own. Thank goodness it is not too heavy at all. I have a 4 day weekend! So happy. Looks like the kids go to school on Monday so it will be hubby and I home alone emoticon. Lily

Week 2 day 5 Yoga x2.

I still cannot do that balance pose crane.

I've noticed Tony uses at least one (but usually a ton) of Gumby comments in all the phase 1 exercises :-)

Welcome Hopwood - you will be about 2 weeks ahead of me at least, so would love to hear how Phase 2 is going for you as I will be hitting it soon.

Hopwood13: Welcome! Congrats on completing phase 1. How many weeks did you do phase 1 for?

dncm: I cannot do the balance crane pose at all either no matter how may times I attempted even during P90X. I do feel a bit stronger in my upper body and believe I will be able to do it by the end of X2 this time. That is one goal I have for this program. Tony is so goofy but that is why I love him. Did you know he also has done stand up comedy?

Week 1: Day 7: TurboFire Fire 30 and X2 ARX done. Burned 611 cals. I missed my TF and loved inserting it here. I will most likely do it once a week as a sub for the rest days. My triceps were killing me last night! They were so sore. Also got in some snow shovelling and will do it once again today. The snow has stopped falling finally but it is supposed to get quite cold out today. We went out to a dinner theater show last night. The food was quite good and the show was "Ghostbusters". All the music was from the 80's. It was great to spend the evening as a family. It is those moments that really matter. Lily
