Are you ready to Beast up!! Or slim down? This is the place to do it!! It doesn't matter what program that you are doing just make sure you are bring intensity and posting here daily!!

My First Key to the workout is the workout and believe it or not this is the easy part. Sure, the programs are not easy if you are bringing the intensity but you don't have to think about it. Put the disk in and PUSH PLAY!!!

My Second keys are Nutrition and Food. It is highly recommended that we are take at least a multi-vitamin as either we are not eating the correct portions of food or/and the food that we eat doesn’t have nutrient dense requirements needed. Food on the other hand is the best way to get our supplement but this is very hard and especially when you are first starting out. So each Beachbody program comes with a diet guide, Read it, follow it and ask questions!!!

My third key is water. There are people that say we don't need any more than 64 oz. of water and while that might be true for someone that doesn't work out, we are not those people. It is recommended that you drink 1 oz. of water for every 2 lbs.

My Fourth key - Sleep!!! Most people have too many things going in their life and sleep is the first thing to take a hit. If you think about our bodies as machines then Exercise is the engine running, Food and Nutrients are the fuel, water is the coolant and sleep is the repair and maintenance. If you don't repair the machine it will break down, so get your sleep!!

My Fifth key is Goals. This means it is time to pull out the tape measure and the camera!! Lots of people focus on the scale for their one and only measurement and don't accept the fact that this is the worst measurement to go by (IMHO). Body Fat and inches will tell you success. According to the BMI my picture in the banner is overweight; yea weight is the best measurement, NOT!

Thanks Team!

So we get started I wanted to talk about following the workout.

The first thing that you need to do is plan when you are going to workout. Life is crazy and if you don't plan ahead you will plan to fail. If you don't make working out a priority then it will most likely get skipped.

They say the best time to workout is in the afternoon, but the next best time is whenever you can. I personally choose to do my workout first thing in the morning.

So come Tuesday Nov 6th @ 5 AM I will begin my journey to Beast Up!!

What time do you choose to workout?

Hey Coach I will be here, I ordered BB but likely not going to start until after the new year. Way to much work in the community before it gets too cold to start a new program and be too sore to help.

Week 2 of P90X 3rd round 2012-plyo done.

1/2 way - Day 15 of Asylum - Speed & Agility

Great workout this morning. Probably because I got a great night of sleep for the first time in a few weeks. Tomorrow I have Vertical Plyo. This one has been kicking my but this round. I do not remember this being the toughest workout the first time doing Asylum, but it definitely is this time around.

For those of you starting Body Beast, I finished a round about 3 or 4 weeks ago. So if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask, and I will do my best to answer them. The one thing I will say is follow and trust the program. If your goal is to add size and muscle this is the program for you.

Good Morning TEAM!!!

JohnnyMacs Well I look forward to the beginning of the year and Body Beast. Are you planning to finish up your round of P90X or just finish the two month ans switch over to Body Beast in Jan.?

Brent I know that we are suppose to get an extra hour of sleep but my body doesn't want to get used to it. I will say it was easier to get up at 5 this morning emoticon . Thank you for the offer of help with Body Beast. I have read the manual and the family and me are going shopping tonight. This is going to be a great journey!!

So last day of TurboFire this morning. I did Class 45 EZ and 605 calories burned in 44 minutes. And I know if I knew the workout I would be able to do even better. Good and fun workout.

So supplements and food are the key subject of today's topic. Like I mentioned the family and me are shopping tonight but shopping with a plan. I love the quote in the Book of Beast "To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art." While some art looks like is happens on accident you food won't. Make sure that you are following the guide and eating at nessary. I know that I am going to be making Beast Turkey Chili and freezing it for later lunches and dinners.

When we fail to plan we plan to fail.

I am also choosing to use the Body Beast Supplements. I know that some people feel that they are expensive but I have seen and talked to others that say they are premium products and worth every penny. Be aware that there are a few corrections in the Book of Beast:

1. Page 74: Hardcore Base Shake product information initially stated "18 grams of whey protein isolate." This should be replaced with "18 grams total protein, mainly from whey, but with a blend of other protein sources to deliver fast and slow release of proteins."

2. Pages 52 to 55, 57, 71 and 74: The portion size ofor Fuel Shot was initially listed as 2 scoops. This should be replced with 1 scoop.

I am excited and ready to "Do Whatever it takes!" and Beast up!

Just joining from the older thread...but I would like to do a round with Body Beast sometime in the new year (possibly as early as january).

For body beast veterans...I will be using a stability ball with the program. I just worry about injuring myself lifting heavy weights with the shaky surface. Has anyone tried the program with a ball? Am I overthinking this, or would you recommend completing a round of X2 first to make sure my core is strong enough?

Thanks!

Helloooooo!!!! I am with ya Coach Greg! For anyone new- I am from upstate NY, in my last week of P90X (5 rounds (couple hybrids here and here)) I was going to do Asylum until Body Combat comes in December but I took advantage of that TurboFire deal so I'm going to do that until Body Combat comes- I've been waiting SOOOO LONG for Body Combat that I am going to drop everything and start that right away-LOL!!!

KPP!

Good Morning Team!!

Stevie Welcome to the group!! Well the first thing that you want to make sure is that you right down the weight that you used and if you were able to keep up with the sets. If you were able to keep up then you will want to add to your weight. The first weeks are to help understand where you are so you can increase later.

JohnSpartan I am using the stability ball so I will let you know how it goes. As of this morning it went well and I didn't feel like I was struggling at all.

JenB WOOT!! I loved TF! I will some day get through a full 90 day of it, just not sure when.

So running late this morning as I didn't have some of the things ready for this morning. I am at a 1000 calories already this morning so only 2000 calories to go emoticon .

So make sure that you are drinking plenty of water!!! This is huge since many of us are trying to get huge. Muscle is made up of all sorts of amino acids and other stuff but they mainly consist of water as does the whole body. Drink your water to help the body function!

Hey Coach,
Glad to be back on one of your threads. I decided to skip the recovery week of P90X and start Body Beast with you. I did chest and tris yesterday morning and legs this morning. I figured I could jump right in and keep up but I had to pause the video a couple of times each morning. I'm looking forward to biceps tomorrow.
I also got all the supplements to try and get the most out of my workouts. I am following the lean version of the beast program.

Good Morning TEAM!!!

Rob Welcome back to the threads!!! Great job on pushing through and I to have to admit that I had to pause it once or twice. I wish I had a whole setup like they have but we make due with what we have.

I have Stability Ball, Bowflex SelectTech and a chair. I also have my pull-up bar that I am excited to get back to when the time comes emoticon .

Day 2: Build-Legs. I think I will have to up the weights on this one. I didn't have a had time with the weights that I used so I should have some substantial increases next week. I am fairly sore in the chest area but not too sore in the Tricep area.

A couple of questions for those that have gone through the program, do you adjust your calories down on your rest days?

Then second question for everyone. Has anyone had an issue printing out the worksheets? When it prints out I am missing most of the wording on the worksheet. I have resorted to pasting an image to a Word Doc and then printing it. I imagine it is a driver issue that doesn't recognize the font.

How are people tracking your calories?

Time to go take food out of the freezer to defrost some food for dinner. I am going to try the Beast Chili.

Keep Pushing Play,
CoachG

StevieDun If you are not feeling it in the Tris, other than increasing weight as CoachG suggested, form is key w/ triceps.

CoachG - no issues w/ printing the sheets, downloaded as a PDF and they printed fine. I did not lower calories on rest days. Or at least i did not try to. I was not as hungry on those days and will admit it was harder getting in the calories. Was not as hungry for the morning snack - I used a bench, but for the step ups in Build Legs, I used a stool I bought at Lowes for $10.00. it felt more stable to me, That was also hat I used for a Plyo Box in X2

Hello all,
Build back and bis today. I really enjoyed this one. The 1,1,2 hammers were tough by the end. Next time I will have a better idea what weights to use.

CoachG, I use bow flex selectechs also. I also picked up a decent bench, ezcurl bar, straight bar and 260lbs of weights off Craigslist last week for just over $100 bucks. All I need now is a couple of spring clamps. That was a good score I think.

Coach- I am planning on doing p90x at least until Jan 1 and then maybe starting BB then. Likely going to do the lean version, not looking to bulk up to big. I was hoping this would add muscle to the legs to tackle some large hills next season. I am also debating on whether to get my right knee scoped before year end also.
