Chalene is going to provide plenty of motivation, here' some good tips on setting goals for yourself.

GOALS
Why are you doing this? Is it to loss 5 to 10 pounds, is it to impress someone, or is it to change your life? This is a life changing program and it is totally worth it and everything worthwhile is worth working for. To make sure that you get these life changes you should read through the Fitness and Nutrition guides to help you understand the steps necessary. Whatever your goals are now, I urge you to consider this a lifetime change, not just a 90 day challenge. Make fitness part of your life and you will forever be thankful and you will be a better partner, parent, person and be around for the ones you love. Make your GOALS SMART:

S = Specific "I want to lose weight," is not very specific. How about: "I am going to lose 15 pounds or 2 pants or dress sizes."

M = Measurable Anything that you can measure.

A = Attainable Is it possible to attain your goal? Don't go overboard, but don't go too easy either.

R = Realistic Related to Attainable, ha to be something you can do. Are you looking to lift a cretain weight, run a faster mile or just not get out of breath tying your shoes.

T = Time Limited Give yourself a deadline. In fact this has already been done for you by the folks that created P90X. It is 90 DAYS!!!!

Michelle - Awesome, I'll send you a buddy request and then get you the info.

Here's some more tips on Nutrition and Motivation.

Nutrition
If you want great results, then consider nutrition half of the battle. Nutrition plays a major role in how we reach our goals. Read the nutrition guide and follow the plan. You can prepare week by week or whole month at a time.

Shakeology®, the healthiest meal of the day. Want a simple way to transform your health? All it takes is one glass of Shakeology® a day. This ultra-premium nutritional health shake contains the world's most powerful superfoods. It's the perfect combination of antioxidants, phytonutrients, enzymes, prebiotics, protein and many rare ingredients – including adaptogens, camu-camu, and sacha inchi – giving you the essential nutrients you can't get from an ordinary diet. Replace one meal a day with Chocolate, Tropical Strawberry or Greenberry Shakeology to increase your energy, reduce cravings, lose weight, improve digestion and regularity, and transform your health.* and it's just 150 calories..

Motivation
Nothing is more important than motivation. Times will get tough and there are going to be days that you feel like you cannot get up or you feel too tired at night to workout. This is where your coach and these boards help out. By joining this thread you will find like minded people that will push you and look for help from you to be pushed. This is a 90 day program and it helps to have not just your coach in your corner but a whole team ready to cheer you on and waiting for you to cheer them on.

Also Track your accomplishments:
• Take your measurements
• Take your before and after pictures
• Use the Worksheets

I can't stress this part enough. It REALLY helps to see your progress! Get those measurements and pictures. You don’t have to share your pictures but the motivation that it provides to others is invaluable as you will see when others post their pictures. Take a look at these videos to help you get your photos and measurements right.

Some more good tips for anyone starting a program.

Workouts
WARNING: Teh first week of any program will be ROUGH, especially depending on what your starting fitness is. But battle through the soreness and keep pushing and as Tony Horton says, just do YOUR best and forget the rest.

Pre-Workout
All the workouts are intense! You need the right fuel to “Bring It!” and a pre-workout meal about an hour before is important. But be warned if you workout too close to the pre-workout meal you may lose it.

If you workout first thing in the morning, you can skip the meal but you may want to include a 1/3 of your recovery drink in to your water to make sure that you have enough energy to get through your workouts or 1/2 a banana or try the Energy and Endurance for that extra push.

Post Workout:
One of the most important parts of any exercise routine is a recovery drink. I cannot stress how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while recovering from your workouts. Plus it replaces vital nutrients that you burned during your workout and prevents muscle damage. The P90X Recovery Drink is a very good product and I highly recommend it. Aside from the proper 4:1 Carbsrotein ratio, it has Creatine and L-Glutamine which both help your muscles replenish and rebuild.

Lastly post your Accountability Daily.
The message boards are a great way to meet others that are going through what you are going through and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Everyone comes from different backgrounds and will be able to share tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. The boards helped me tremendously through my first round of P90X and I can tell you if we can get a group to stick through this together, we will all be better for it. So whether it is a FB group or here, posting daily increases your possibility of success.

Accountability Day 52 Kenpo Cardio+ - This is from the P90X+ series and I like it better than the original Kenpo. Faster paced, better sequences, great recovery workout. So my TF is supposed to come tomorrow. I'll start it during this recovery week, then next week when I start Phase 3 of P90X, I'll work in some TF on cardio days. What's your plan?

Good morning Team ENGAGE, happy Tuesday. Made it into the office today. Trains are still crowded and not running right and still no heat in the office, but I'm getting by. Hopefully when I get home tonight my TF will be there and I'll start seeing what that's about. What's your plan for today?

As people said, it's not so bad when you get here, but after a few hours of working with no heat, it starts to get to you. I type a lot at the job and my fingers are cold. Tonight though I should be able to start a FIRE with Chalene. Looking forward to it!

Accountability Day 53 Insanity Fast and Furious - So my TurboFire didn't arrive and now says delivery due tomorrow, so I looked at the schedule for today and it said it was X-Stretch (don't forget i'm in recovery week). But I had an awful commute home (stood the whole way in a packed like sardines train car), and a long line at the vote, so I needed to blow off some steam. What better way than 2 minutes of the best Shaun T Insanity stuff. Fits the recovery week because it's short and light on the upper body and worked wonders for making me feel better. I got the stuff I needed from work and will go back to working from home tomorrow, the office was brutal and the commute horrible, I guess we'll be feelign the effects of Sandy for a while. So much action here, you guys are awesome!

OK, off to spend some family time and maybe watch some election stuff. Not sure if they'll know by the time I go to bed or not. Have a great night all and keep up the awesome jobs and attitudes. Where was Maria today, or Ben

Accountability Day 54 Fire Starter and LOW HIIT 20 - Turbo Fire has arrived! So I jumped in. Fire Starter is a 20 minute disc that introduced you to all her moves. I once had a woman on a thread refer to Chalene's moves as Hyperactive Spastic Convulsions. I understand now, coordination will be needed, but repetition should help. She moces fast and funky. The LOW HIIT is low impact (no jumping) HIIT training, I worked up a great sweat and liked the discs. THe number is always the minutes so you start in the 20-30 range and it goes up to 50-60 Chalene punches better than Tony or Shaun, stresses keeping your guard up and throws punches that look more like a boxer. Also better scenery to look at for me personally.

Accountability Day 54 Fire 45 EZ and Fire Starter - So after shoveling and going sledding with my son I was kind of tired. I figured no way I could do both so I decided to do Fire 45. Even with the new to class option, Chalene goes fast. I noticed to tonight that she is jumping and bouncing and feet moving the whole time, so even in a punch sequence where i might pivot she's bobbing between each punch. Honestly, I think if you keep up with her this is as hard as Insanity. After the disc finished I sat for a couple of minutes and decided to go for Fire Starter. I thought it was a 20 minute disc from yesterday, but I never watched the clock. I put it in tonight and it is 37 minutes! I took some breaks as I was wiped but got through it. I'm toast now, drinking recovery.

triple I didn't look at your profile yet, is that name from having triplets? Read the materials watch the GET FIRED UP Video and screen the Fire Starter disc before you try it, the moves are tough.

Hope to see you hee tomorrow abd that some other people join us. I van tell you that if they don't I have a very active thread with a lot of people a few even doing TF. But I'd like to see if we can get some beginnerd here as people who are starting at the same time do well together. Good luck.

Good morning Team ENGAGE, happy Friday. I am in the office, but mass transit is still not running full capacity so crowded train. My stop was the last one where people got seats. I know the way home will be sorse, but at least I will be going home then. Probably a long day here, but I will try to check in when I can (you guys are too busy for me not to emoticon).

Michelle - Aweome! I suggest previewing the first disc ot two to get a feel for her moves. I also suggest using the new to class option, she still goes very fast but at leat you see the moves broken down. Alo when it asks to fire up the music say no, you'll still hear the music, but if you say yes, you won't hear her very well.

Let's have a great day everyone. Last day of my recovery week, is supposed to be rest day, but I think I'll try a TF Core disc and see how that is.

Accountability Day 56 Core 20 Stretch 10 - SUpposed to be rest day, last day if recovery week, but i've been digging Chalene and figured I'd try her Core disc and the short stretch. THe Core disc is good. No Ab Ripper, but a good core workout and I really felt it. Again I think her directions on how to get the most out of the moves were great. The stretch disc was nice. At about 12 minutes it wen by so fast, she has longer ones. She actually says you should do this short one after every workout and it wouldn't be a bad thing. You guys are so busy, it's going to take me an hour to type this post emoticon

Hope everyone is out there pushing play. Come back here and let us knwo what you did.

Accountability Day 57 Chest & Back and ARX - Went out to get gas just before 7:00 AM. Got back around 7:30 with a full tank and jumped into C&B. Awesome upper body. Now with P90X, you do this workout in Phase 1 and not again until now, so Day 15 then Day 57, 42 days inbetween. It's also the first disc after recovery week, which is always tough as your ar mmuscles need to readjust to being taxed. I did more on some moves, less on others, but all in all I'm very proud of what I got done. Feeling it all over and then I knowcked out ARX which is always hard for me no matter how many times I've done it. Saturday is off to a great start, now the rest is gravy.

28 years ago today I was hit by a car while walking and ended up in a coma for 3 days. I was extremely lucky which is a long story, but I was one foot in the grave as they say. When I recovered I just turned 22 and was too young to appreciate how lucky I was and instead decided I was indestructable. I went on binges and did a lot of stupid kid stuff. Soon enough I realized that all I was doing was putting the other foot in the grave and I started to realize I was given a 2nd chance and have since decided to treat each day as a gift and be thankful. So today I'd like to remind all of you, be thankful every day you are breathing, each day is a gift, live it accordingly, enjoy it, tell teh people you love that you love them and have fun

Hi!

I just received TurboFire yesterday and plan to start today! I am so glad I found this group. I have 20 lbs to lose. I am 54 years old and to warn you - I do a lot of start with enthusiasm and then stop because the results are not happening fast enough. I happened to see a post on my FB wall, it went something like: It take 9 months to make a baby-why shouldn't it take 9 months to transform your body? I really thought about it- why don't I give myself the time to lose the weight and see the results. 9 months from now will be August - my birthday month- being fit and 20 lbs. lighter would be the best gift I could give myself!

Because I have a knee that acts up if I'm not careful with it- I am thinking of starting with her Prep schedule. Any suggestions?
