P90x2 Question
11/4/12 4:54 PM
Is it possible to make the rest days SAT. and SUN. but make the workouts 5 day straight a week MON-FRI, and achieve great results? Or is Rest days back to back too much?

It's fine to do it whatever way. Try to get those 5 workouts in in 7 days, and fit the rest days in when your schedule dictates. Don't put Base & Back on consecutive days with Chest/Back/Balance, with V-sculpt, or with Plyocide. Otherwise, no big deal however you arrange it.

Hmm so you're sure back to back rest days are fine?

I just wouldnt do the first phase 5 days in a row. You defitinetly need that break after plyocide before total body. total body is murdurous if you work the right way with extra resistance.

Could just rearrange it so that yoga is the day after plyocide. That way you could do 5 days in a row.

Paul, but then it would be yoga, total body, then total body again with balance and power..oo that fun workout!

True. I think that Total Body is by far the hardest workout in phase 1, certainly the one that would affect subsequent workouts the most. So you could switch it with Balance & Power -- so the week would be Core, then Plyocide, then Yoga, then B&P, then Total Body. That way you'd have a couple recovery days after Total Body. Or switch Balance and Power with Core. Core, as hard as it is in certain respects, could probably be done consecutively with Total Body.

Anyway, I think there are some permutations where you could do 5 days in a row.

I'm in fairly good shape, I think I am going to just try going through the first week 5 days in a row with the workouts in order and we'll work from there.

Worth a try. Total Body will make you VERY sore, so just pick the next day's work accordingly.

Total body didnt make me as sore as much as it just wore me, it worked for sure, it was just such a intense and demanding routine, i mean i am in great shape to and its not smart to do consecutive routines if you want the most out of it.
