Help?

Okay, so I have been doing doubles on my workouts 6 days a week. I've been doing Turbo Jam and recently purchased Chalean Extreme. Tonight I started with Turbo Jam Cardio Party with no problems. Then I decided to do my second: Chalean Extreme Burn Circuit 2. My knees were killing me. I've tried adjusting my form like she suggests but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Also, I was lifting my 15 lb weights and my left hand was in so much pain. I paused a few mintutes and then tried again with my 8 lb weights. I still couldn't finish it. At no point during the workout were my arms fatigued. Now it's an hour later and if I squeeze my hand closed its still painful. Any ideas what's going on? I feel like I'm falling apart. My mind is willing but my body is weak apparently.

Hey there,

First suggestion, is to do your weight routines before cardio. If you lift after cardio, you will not be able to lift as much and not the full benefit of lifting. If you do cardio afterwards, you will still reach your anaerobic threshold and get the same results.

Second, when you were lifting the 15s you may have pulled or slightly bruised somthing. Try to stretch those muscles out. Massage or rub them. Also you can ice it.

See if that helps.

Hey, thanks for answering! I will definitely try your suggestions. What would have caused me to pull or bruise it? Could I be holding it too loosely or tightly?

Take a styrofoam cut fill it with ice and water, put it in the freezer until its completely frozen. Once its frozen, break a bit of the rim off and rub it against your problem area.

I wouldnt suggest you do two workouts in a day, to do it properly you would need to eat more calories so you dont hit too much of a deficit. Doing more does not mean doing better, trust me I tried that and I didnt good results because I wasnt eating enough. If you really want to do 2 workouts in a day, do one in the morning and one in the evening and I suggest you do cardio on the second workout.

My hand is feeling back to normal today. I stretched it out and massaged it which helped a lot.

Thank you for your concern about my workouts. I am eating about 1600 calories a day and that helps me, but I am thinking of dropping back to 1500 to see how I do with that. Cardio always energizes me and strength training zaps it which is why I prefer to do my cardio first. I've been doing long workouts for years because my body is capable of it, plus it makes me feel awesome.

WHOA! You're doing 2 workouts a day at 1500 calories? Girl, you are over training! Be really careful, that's where injuries come from.

Change doesn't come from working out MORE. It comes from adequate recovery. And if you aren't eating to support 2 workouts.... let's put it this way - you aren't going to be burning fat. Any weight lost will be water and then you're going to stall or lose muscle.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you gotta take better care of yourself. Figure out what you're actually burning then recalculate your calorie deficit.

No, ma'am, I am at 1600 calories. I laughed when I checked the calories Team Beach Body recommended to me which was 1200 calories and low carb. I know for a fact that I have to fuel my body properly and give my body rest days. Unfortunately I don't feel sore with any of my workout DVDs because my body has adapted to them which is why I ordered Chalean Extreme.

Could be tendonitis; which is common in, you guessed it, overuse. Listen to your body. If your hands are hurting you, modify to do something else to give them a chance to recover. Don't over-train.

I don't believe it's overuse for my hand since I just started Chalean Extreme and have mostly been doing cardio doubles, but I am going to give myself rest. Thanks to everyone for your concerns and advice.
