OK peeps... I have a weird question/confession! I am currently 30+ days into my insanity program. I have had amazing results so far! I've only lost about 8 lbs, but my body is changing dramatically! My body fat percentage is dropping, and I am toning up and seeing good definition. I love it! emoticon Anyway, I am a really healthy eater... I have been sticking to the 5 x 300 calories each day, sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more (on days I double up with an afternoon run). So my question is, is it crazy that I literally CRAVE peanut butter?!? I seriously could eat it with every little meal! Sometimes on a sandwich, but usually just as a garnish with fruit, or even a spoonful right out of the jar! It's kind of driving me crazy! I try really hard to not eat too much of it, cuz it does have alot of calories and fat per serving, but it's so hard when it's ALL I can think about and it's the only thing that satisfies me! What is my deal??!

Hi mommyontherun! I don't think you are crazy. It could be that your body is craving the fat or that you found a substitute for some other sweets that you might of once craved. I'm not sure. I will say that I have peanut butter everyday, but not more than 1 tbl. Nothing wrong with craving it, but don't eat too much of it. Your body might also be craving the sodium if you have been on a low sodium diet.

Well... I guess that could be it! I just had a baby 2 1/2 months ago, and I had a distinct taste for reeses peanut butter cups while I was prego! haha... I have been being really good about not eating sweets; I even limit sugars in my foods (like yogurts, jams, etc). So maybe this is my body crying out for something! lol! Thanks Jeff! emoticon

I had my wife eating 4-5 tablesppons a day during her insanity round. She went from 158 to 132. Second round down to 120 (Her high school weight). She had our 4th boy this March.

She ran a 1000 calorie deficit with higher unsaturated fats from peanut butter, almonds, avocados, olive oil, and black olives.

Carbs were green veggies and sweet potatoes.

Proteins were fish, chicken, and turkey.

It worked for her. She scares people now when they watch her do Insanity. She has eclipsed Tonya on every move in the fit test.

You may want to try a product called PB2. It's a powder, & you can find it in health food stores, or stores like Trader Joes & Whole Foods. I use it w/ my chocolate Shakeology & it tastes just like a peanut butter cup. The best part is 2 TBSP is only 45 calories & 1 g of fat, while having 4g of protein. You can mix up the powder w/ water to use it as a spread too. I like it...it may be worth a try.

That is freakin awesome emoticon Ok, makes me feel much better. This last baby was my 3rd, and I was afraid I would never see my pre-prego weight again. This gives me hope! Thank you for sharing, and tell your wife she is my motivation for month 2! emoticon

I do eat alot of healthy fats, and maybe that's why my body likes the peanut butter! I'm pretty sure I'm running about a 1000 calorie deficit on most days too, maybe only 700-800 on the days I don't do an afternoon run. My weight lose has stopped the last 10 days, but I am still seeing inches lost and more toning happening. I was just worried that my peaunut butter cravings were the cause for not losing lbs the past week :/ But I think I'm gaining muscle mass (which I'm totally ok with not losing weight if this is the reason). I'm hoping month 2 can blast off these last 5-7 lbs, and I can still enjoy my peaunut butter lol emoticon

Glad I could help. Healthy fats are very misunderstood. Shaun T eats avocados like crazy. Sometimes 4 a day. Healthy fats are very important for hormone regulation and for healthy joints.

My wife also had one cheat day a week, where she would load up on calories. Maybe eat a calorie surplus of about 1000.

It seemed to help her body break through weight loss plateaus.

EVERY time I'm going through an intense workout program I crave peanut butter - whether that's a BB program, marathon training, etc. I end up eating a couple of spoonfuls a day. It curbs the sweet cravings, and even gets rid of the intense cravings for ice cream I get after longer runs (15+).

In moderation it won't do you any harm emoticon

oh i love peanut butter... usually have half or one serving a day...

you can also look up the peanut butter and almond butter made by a company called Nuts-N-More...
it has 14 grams of protein also good amount of omega 3s... its a bit pricey and have to order it online, but its worth it...

Ok, I have a question about the Insanity program. On the TV it says that for the first month you do 5 disks....now do you do those five days a week or six?

Can you do more then one workout in a day if you have time?

They alternate them six days a week. Sunday being your rest day.

I don't see why you couldn't... I wanted to do two tonight, but it got too late.

I'm so so glad it's not only me! Thanks for sharing! emoticon I agree that it curbs the sweets cravings... kinda. I still long for reeses peanut butter cups after working out, but pb alone seems to do the trick! I figure its the better of the two evils ;)

PB2 is AWESOME!!!! They've sucked the fat and oils out of peanuts, still get the taste. Love to mix it in my chocolate shakeology...2 TBSP is 45 cals and 1.5 grams of fat.. here's the cheapest place I've found it...I like the choc PB2 but the regular is good too....hope this helps

I don't have the calendar...I've been using online videos of people doing the excersizes...I plan on ordering the program when I find work though..currently unemployed...I did get a free sample of Shakeology and it's not too bad!!! This can work!!!
