Tomorrow for school, Strength training starts and goes for 6 weeks. I am in my first round of P90X on my fifth day of my second week. Is it ok that I do both? If not what should I do? I need some advice.

Hi Brennon,

It would depend on the type of Strength training you are doing at school. P90x is intense and you certainly don't want to over train, as that will result in injury. You could modify your P90X and only do the cardio type exercises or increase the reps to 15-20 for resistance part of P90x. See how your strength training goes for the first week and then you could have an idea on what you might be able to leave out of P90x workout. The other option is to hold off on P90x for 6 weeks and then hit it again after your strength training at school.

I would put P90X on hold while your school is doing strength training, as doing both will not only comprimise muscle recovery (and therefore muscle growth), but will also expose you to possible overtraining of the central nervous system.

Do P90X once the school stuff is over...

We will be squatting, benching, running, abs, and things with dumbbells like shoulder pressing, and we will also be working on our legs.
