wk 3 insanity = decreased calorie burn??!
Hey all!

This question may have been answered but if someone could maybe shed some light???

The first two weeks of insanity I burned anywhere between 500-700 calories - huge!!
This week though, my third week, I havent' gone over 400 (today's cardio power I only burned 340 as opposed to 580 on previous days)!! What the heck?? I've got a great hrm (polar) and do not believe that my concern lies there. Is it because my body is more conditioned? I did change the user settings (weight - decreased it by 5) recently. Is that it?? That much of a difference because of 5lbs? I like seeing the large calorie burns - I feel accomplished. My heartrate is still waaaayyy up there and I do not feel that my workouts are less intense.

Thoughts appreciate!!!!

Could be a number of factors, but I would say the weight loss and the fact that you are becoming better conditioned as you progress in the program are the reason for the lower calorie burn. Now it is time to focus on form and contracting your core to get even better results.

Justin hit it right on the spot. As you lose weight and build up endurance you'll see a change in calorie burn. I was once hitting 500's but as I progressed, I'm now down to 300-400 depending on the type of workout. Kinda frustrating cause we naturally want to see a huge number. But we need to keep in mind that we don't have as much fat to burn off.
