Need some input, this is my second round of insanity first time was awesome with great results, had surgery on my hand twice and am slowly getting back into the upper body portion of the workouts. Can now do them all but not as many reps as I should be getting do to hand instability and weakness. The first time i did insanity i was sore for a total of 3 days in the beginning, for some reason this time i am on week three and am still sore if not more sore then week one. I am completely baffled as to why that is, I drink recovery shakes immediately, i take branched chained amino acids two to three other times in the day, stretch more then once a day, get baths, nothing is helping at this point, and also my results are extremely slow this go around not to mention my diet is even more clean then the last time. I am in shape already 5'9 180 bf % is 10 i am just completely shocked and need some input thanks

If I had to venture a guess I would say there could be one of two things going on.

1. You are modifying some of the moves without realizing it due to the recovering hand causing bad form which leads to soreness.

2. Since this is your second round of the program you are more familiar with the moves and bringing a higher level of intensity.

Since you are three weeks in I am thinking it may be more of the first one than the second one, if you have a mirror, flip cam, or web cam that you could use to record a workout and watch your form it may shed a little light.

thank you i kinda was leaning that way, however i forgot to mention the only soreness is lower body, mainly hamstrings, no upper body where i am altering anything, and honestly if anything my intensity is done for some reason, im having more trouble this time through having to take more breaks from legs getting tired to fast.This is all really odd to me, A year ago I was a college athlete and haven't changed anything since then and am having some trouble getting through it this time.

Sounds like it's option 2. The better your range of motion and skill with the movements, the better the workout.

Recovery week is almost there. Hang in.
