Skinny with belly, tried everything, HELP!
So I've completed both Insanity and the Asylum. When I was doing Insanity, I followed the nutrition plan to a T. Kept my abs tight, had good form, always felt sore but no results in my lower abs. The rest of my body however, had excellent results. I gained an inch on my arms, my legs got more sculpted etc. Now, I'm a naturally skinny person, I only weigh 120 lbs, I'm 5'7" but for some reason my stomach always is like this no matter what I do. If I suck it in, it'll look more defined. Any suggestions?

Caloric intake and ratios can be different for different people. I'm not familiar with Asylum's nutrition plan.

How many calories were you consuming daily and what were your micro-nutrient breakdowns?

Also, hormones can play a role in the retention of belly fat. What type of fats did you consume during the day?

I was consuming about 2,300 calories a day while doing Insanity. I'm not sure what you mean by micro nutrients but like I said I followed the nutrition guide and for fats, I consumed monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats, as well as omega-3 in some nuts. I was following a 40% protein, 40% carb and 20% fat ratio.

Hey Winterqueen,

One workout that I love is the Ab Ripper X routine from P90X. It's 15 minutes of HELL, but seriously the most effective routine that I have found, and nothing seems to give me the results that it does. I highly recommend it. (that and the whole program--it's super!)

Calories looked good. You can play with them. You can increase or decrease by 200-300 in either direction and see how your body reacts. Caloric formuals don't work for everyone.

Micro-nutrients (ratios) look pretty good.

Are typically able to hang with the entire videos? Most notably the first month? Do you still drop out occasionaly?

The reason I ask, is it may be time to increase carbs or fats.

Do you use myplate or fitday?

If so, I'd post your food.

Yes, I typically push through the entire videos. I just started journaling my food, I found it unnecessary before since I just followed the meal plans but I am going to keep up on it now. I think I do need to increase my amount monounsaturated fatty acids to my diet. I did some research through books and it seems like that is my main issue. I will increase my fats and see where it goes from there. Thank you very much for your help! I think too I have a lot of bloat as well since I tend to eat very fast.

I thought that might be the case.

Shaun T eats like 4 avocados a day. I find that especialy for women, healthy fats are critical. I upped my wife's fats to 30% with allot of olive oil, peanut butter, avocados, and black olives. Made a huge difference.

After a couple weeks, let me know how things are going.
