Hi everyone!
I'm Paula ~ "FitnessPartner" here on Team Beachbody.

I want to share with you why I chose the screen name "FitnessPartner" when I first started with Team Beachbody:
I knew getting into this journey (I need to lose about 150 pounds) that I would need peer support in order to be successful. Life is busy and I had been making excuses for YEARS as to why I didn't have time to work out. I needed encouragement to work out when I was too tired, and accountability to others to ensure I did!
The "support" leg of Team Beachbody (Fitness + Nutrition + Support = SUCCESS) is one of the big reasons why I joined Team Beachbody! I had unsuccessfully tried Weight Watchers in the past, and yes there's a weekly meeting, but there's nobody there to kick my butt THAT DAY when I don't feel like working out. Here at Team Beachbody, there is.
I want to help others on their journey. I want to "pay it forward" by being that "Fitness Partner" to others!

So now you know why I chose that name, here's the purpose of this thread:
Support, Motivation, Encouragement, Tough Love - whatever I can do for you as your "FitnessPartner" to help YOU reach YOUR fitness, health, and wellness goals.

I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve success!

RE: Let Me Be Your Fitness Partner!
kathy smith beachbody p90x journey workouts workout programs power90 courage current stats
11/7/12 8:44 AM as a reply to FitnessPartner.
My Team Beachbody journey started in November of 2010 - yesterday was my 2 year anniversary with Team Beachbody. In that time, I've seen real results and found the way to transform my life.

Over the past 2 years, here's what I've accomplished:

Workout programs: Body Gospel, 10 Minute Trainer (my FAVORITE!), Kathy Smith's Project:YOU! Type 2, training for a walking 10K, Power90, and starting next January TurboFire.

November 2010 stats
Weight 310
Waist 60
Hips 62
Chest 56

November 2012 stats
Weight 251.8
Waist 50
Hips 55
Chest 46

Total lost in 2 years
Weight 58 pound
Waist 10 inches
Hips 7 inches
Chest 10 inches
for a grand total of 27 inches

I drink Shakeology every morning for breakfast - I feel full and satisfied until I am able to eat lunch at 1pm - and I'm not STARVING at lunch, so my lunch portions are much better than they used to be.

What has surprised me most about this journey? Well, besides the fact that I'm 570+ workouts into it, it's that I had the courage to sign up for a walking 10K this past summer. Because I had been dedicated to my workouts I knew I could train for this event.

I still have 100+ pounds to lose but I KNOW I will get there - and it will probably take me another 2 years. My results aren't P90X results because I'm not doing P90X - I'm doing what works for me. And to me - that's the greatest reason to join Team Beachbody. You don't have work to someone else's level - you push yourself and try to be better than you were yesterday. It's as simple as that.

I invite you to join me on this journey!

I am so proud with you! You have really made tremendous progress - not only in your stats which are so impressive and inspiring, but in your attitude and perserverance. You are/have made positive and on your way to permanent changes in your life/health/fitness. It's a much tall-er :-) order than most realize. Way to go!!! I'm glad we 'met' on this journey - we are both definitely in for the long haul!Congrats seems meager but I mean it from the bottom of my heart!!!

And the 2 posts above are why I'm so in love with Team Beachbody! Peer support and kudos from 2 people I've only met online, yet who are super supportive and encouraging emoticon

The Support piece of Team Beachbody is really what differentiates us from others. Sure, you can buy a Chuck Norris endorsed Total Body Gym, or that Tapout thing that I'm seeing infomercials for, or you can head to the gym and fight for a machine. And then you'll quit because you aren't fully engaged.

Or, you can find people who are on the same journey and who are supportive and you can talk to them about what's working and what's not working and why you're re-starting for the 4th time. And then you'll go workout because you're motivated and encouraged and you're seeing results!

Okay, so Shakeology sets us apart as well, but I'll save that for another day.

If you're struggling - reach out to me or any of the other thousands of supportive people on this message board!

AMEN to That. It is really the support and help that make the difference. So many times - hate to admit it but it's true - I've NOT wanted to push play or even quit and I did not do it or got quickly back on track JUST BECAUSE OF THE SUPPORT. And, I've met so many incredible people on this journey that really, it's transforming and I know that word gets used a lot/overused.

Love that you started this thread and I know you are going to help a lot of people!

Okay, since my picture post was removed by CSBB5, whoever that is, I guess nobody gets to see it. That's unfortunate, because I'm extremely proud of my success.

Anyway, one of the other reasons why I'm so in love with the success I've found with Team Beachbody is that I have courage to try events that I never would have in the past! This past summer I signed up for, trained for, and participated in a walking 10k! I had never done anything like that in the past, but I did it (and I wasn't last!).

Next summer, I'm going to ride in an event - [Edited by CSBB5] I've volunteered the last 2 years (since I've been in Ohio) and it's really just an amazing event - thousands and thousands of people biking with one goal - to end cancer. There are routes from 25 to 180 miles - and I'm ready to say I'm going to ride next summer! It's a little scary, but I know I can train for it and stay dedicated to my Team Beachbody programs which will help me gain strength and endurance in preparation for the big ride.

I used to ride my bike all the time in Chicago, and then I ruptured my appendix and life got crazy for a few years, but I'm ready to buy a new bike and get started again. So next Friday - yes on Black Friday - I will buy my new bike!

Hi Kaitee! So glad you stopped by!
I'm in my last month of Power90 and then in January I'm starting TurboFire! Aacck!! TF will be my first Chalene program - I've been a Tony Horton devotee so far emoticon

I would love to help hold you accountable. What are your goals and expectations?
- How many days a week are you planning to work out?
- What are you doing to get your eating on track?
- Do you expect perfection out of yourself?
- What is your goal for finishing CE?

How new are you to TBB? It says you joined early last year, but I'm not sure how active you've been.

Anyway, I look forward to partnering with you!

I want to work out at least 5 days a week if not 6.

I am going to do a 3 day shakeology cleanse. Then I intend to do the “Ultimate Reset” right after. I stopped eating meat in late May to early June. I feel so much lighter since I did. I want to get rid of dairy all together. I rarely have it, but want to stop all together. My ultimate nutrition goal is to be on the “Engine 2 Diet” which is plant based.
I don’t expect perfection, but I need a drastic change. I have some health issues (warning I am about to get very personal with you). However I feel that if you are going to hold me to my word, You need to know my story.

I have:
DIABETES TYPE 2
HYPERTENSION
HYPERLIPIDEMIA (HIGH BLOOD FATS)
HYPOTHYROIDISM (LOW THYROID)
FIBROMYALGIA

All of these things can improve if not erase from my body. I am currently fluctuating between 215-220 lbs. My goal for CE is to finish successfully, lose weight, be healthy and be psyched to try another series of workouts.

I have not been really active on the site till just recently. I look forward to partnering up with you too! I am anxiously anticipating for CE to arrive!!!

This is great - sounds like this is a very "thoughtful" change you are looking to make!

Working out 5-6 days a week is very reasonable - but don't beat yourself up if there's a week where you only get 4 workouts in. Life happens, and if you go into this with the mindset of "this is a LIFESTYLE change" then you need to roll with the punches.

The Ultimate Reset will be a great way to restart your eating habits. I haven't personally done the UR yet but coaches on my team have and they all say the food in the cookbook is DELICIOUS! Are you part of a challenge group or are you tackling the UR on your own? [Edited by CSBB5].

Don't forget to take your BEFORE pictures!

So - how can I best help you stay accountable? Daily or weekly check-ins? Tough love when you feel like it's too much and you don't want to stay on track? Let me know!!

Wonderful! I would greatly appreciate a daily check! I was going to be doing this on my own...Should I try a challenge group? How and where would you/I check in daily? You can e-mail me on my personal account to discuss this further? Thank you so much for this! Oh and my CE should arrive tomorrow!

workouts walking holidays dvds turbofire eating in moderation
12/2/12 7:23 AM as a reply to FitnessPartner.
How do you handle the holidays?

Do you eat with abandon and say "I'll start working out again and eating healthy again in January?"

Or do you keep with eating in moderation and stick to staying active?

In the past, I was the former. Sooo many sweet temptations and parties and it's so cold out - who wants to go to the gym in the snow?

But now - now that I've lost almost 60 pounds - I'm not going to backslide. I'm continuing to watch what I eat, and I will eat some of the holiday temptations in moderation. I will continue my workouts, even when I'm traveling, and even if it means bundling up to take a walk outside (or bringing my dvds with me!).

I may not lose any more weight over the holidays, but I'm doing all that I can not to gain any back. And starting January 3rd - I'll be starting TurboFire!

So, I'll ask the question again - how WILL you handle the holidays? I'd love to have you join me in January for TurboFire!

Oh girl! Be careful during the holidays! It will be tricky yes... but you can do it. Try to maintain your current weight during your holiday break. JUST MAINTAIN. don't torture yourself. moderation is good. But keep in mind that when you are eating something, ask yourself how much time in the gym will I need to work off what I am eating? I might not be very encouraging. Because you know our minds are screaming "just eat it". Btw I have not started my whole plan yet!

Kaiteeerin - why haven't you started yet?? What are you waiting for?

I wanted to share that I reached another major milestone this week - 600 workouts! Here's the blog post I wrote about it:

WOW! 600 workouts! That's right - I've logged 600 workouts since starting my Team Beachbody journey. I never would have imagined - how many times have you started something only to have your motivation fizzle our 30 or 60 days later. But not with Team Beachbody!

My reward for my 600th workout (yes, I reward myself every 100 workouts - don't you?) is a new Trek bike. I've had Trek bikes for years and I love them, but once I ruptured my appendix and life got crazy back in 2009 and early 2010, I sold my bike. There was a long time when I thought I'd never get back on one.

The last 2 summers I've volunteered for a great event - Pelotonia - here in central Ohio. It's a bike ride that raises money to fund cancer research. So, I bought a bike and I'm going to RIDE next summer! AND - to prepare - I've signed up for the American Diabetes Association Tour De Cure next summer as well (which is in June and Pelotonia is in August).

I am amazed at how far I've come - and while I still have a long ways to go, I know I'll get there, thanks to Team Beachbody and all the great people I've met here. So, thank you to all my fellow Team Beachbody peeps - I never would have made it to 600 workouts without you!

I am looking for a group that is active and supportive. I do well when I am held accountable for the choices that I make I am very dedicated to losing weight and getting in shape. I am doing the Les Mills Pump program and started getting serious about a month ago when I was at my biggest ever 184 pounds. A month later this morning I am at 174. I am currently in a 10 day shakeology challenge which is great because I have support and am being held accountable but I am looking for something on a more permanent basis because I don't plan on quitting after the 10 days. I am looking for like-minded people who are committed to change but are still working towards their goals as I am.

Welcome countrygyrl and thanks for stopping by! Congrats on the 10 day Shakeology challenge and losing 10 pounds in a month! That's amazing!! I'm more than happy to help hold you accountable!

Where do you find you struggle the most? Is it eating healthier, or finding/making time to work out?

Looking forward to partnering with you!
