Keep getting sick....
Keep getting sick....

I don't know if this belongs here - anyway - I have started the Power 90 program a few times now and everytime I do, I find I get a vicious head cold (achy, chills, wicked headache, etc) within a few days to a couple of weeks of starting. Does anyone else experience this? I find it knocks me on my butt for about 5 - 7 days and then after that I'm usually just out of the groove and don't get back on track with the program. Would like advice on how to prevent the cold from coming on - should I start out on a lighter program to get back in shape first?

Wow - that sucks. Getting sick really does take a toll on ones body. I am curious about a few things. When you started working out, how was your diet? Do you take any supplements or vitamins?

I find it odd that after starting the program more than once, it is followed up by illness. I'm no medical professional, but perhaps working out is stressing your body making you more vulnerable to illness. Prior to starting your workout again, fine tune your diet. Eat clean, take your supplements Vitamin C. Buy some Shakeology. Work on your diet for a couple of weeks to top up your immune system before you start your fitness program.

As someone who has done Power 90 - it is a very good intro program. You can take it slow and modify as needed. If this is your first fitness program, Power90 is a great start.

That's my 2 cents. But bottom line - don't give up. You many have not succeeded in completing the program, but you keep trying. Kudos to you. Best of luck. KPP!

Most of the time when starting a new program you change your diet to more healthy eating. How much are you changing your diet when you start the program each time. I ask because it could be a detox your body is going through because it isn't getting the bad processed foods anymore.

Hi JakeKatt, I know exactly what you are talking about, when I started exercising I found myself constantly getting sick. When you exercise your immune system is lowered so your body can help repair, so it is critical for us to get all our vitamins, multi-vitamins are very important. But on my case what I found to be the best was Shakeology, at first my coach kept mentioning all the benefits it has but I was not sure, so I decided to give it a try and I am a true believer of the product.

Right now we are in cold/flu season and people at work and church have gone through several rounds of the cold and for the first time in my life I have not gotten sick at all, and I mean really nothing, not a head cold, not sinus pressure, nothing. Even people at work started commenting that how was it I didn't get any colds anymore.

Hope that helps a little emoticon
